Highlights from the day's fixtures in the Scottish Premiership, featuring Dundee v St Mirren and St Johnstone v Motherwell.

00:30Good evening, the guns have fallen silent, the stars have aligned, the
00:45great wait is over. Come and see. This will be televised, however, and
00:49reuniting this week are the volatile duo of Stephen McGinn and Neil
00:53McCann. We begin at Dens Park as free-scoring Dundee welcomes St
00:57Mirren, who after a tough run of fixtures could use a positive result
01:01to take back to Paisley tonight.
01:05St Mirren have had the better of this fixture in recent times, but the
01:09way this season has started, they've probably come into this one as
01:13underdogs. Dundee have started the campaign very impressively and will
01:17aim to extend their unbeaten run into the international window.
01:22McCown's departure is clearly a blow, but it allows recent loan signing
01:26Sammy Braybrooke the opportunity to come in for his debut. Curtis Bain
01:30is also in from the start, with Palmer Holden dropping to the bench.
01:34As St Mirren seek to end a four-game losing run, the return to fitness
01:38of Caelan Boyd-Munst is a timely one. Scott Tanzen and Mikel Mandzon
01:42are also in, with Iakoviti, Brown and Iunga among the substitutes.
01:47And before kick-off at Denz we're going to have a minute's applause
01:51for Chris Gaffrey, a member of Dundee's stadium team,
01:55who passed away recently.

13:58might have had a winner if Simon Murray had been able to bury one of his opportunities.
14:05But as it is, a game that had four top-quality goals ends all square.

14:15When you play a team like St Mirren,
14:17that are as well-organised, as good as they do,
14:19and you create as many chances as that,
14:21you're playing okay and on another day you would win the game.
14:24But I need to give huge credit to the players for their reaction.
14:28Losing their captain, going out and putting up a performance like that after going behind twice
14:33is testament to the group.
14:35The second-half reaction from the boys was exactly what was needed to get back in the game.
14:39Unfortunately we couldn't go on and get the winner,
14:41but overall it was a pretty pleasing performance.
14:44It isn't lessons for everybody,
14:46but overall it showed the character when Dundee were on top in the second half.
14:50We stayed strong, we defended set play brilliantly well.
14:53I'm positive, could we have nicked it?
14:56Dundee will probably think the same, so there wasn't a lot in it,
14:58and perhaps it's a fair result in the end.
15:00It was kind of a point for us to try and get more draws.
15:03If we can't get a win, instead of getting a loss,
15:06try and get a point, and we did that today.
15:09A very even and entertaining game at Dens Park.
15:12A good point for St Mirren, Neil,
15:14obviously stopping that run of defeats,
15:16and it was Ousania who got St Mirren up and running.
15:19A good finish, but poor defending from Dundee.
15:21Yeah, good point for Dundee as well.
15:23Great game, I have to say, I really, really enjoyed it.
15:25But when Portalis looks back at this and does his analysis,
15:28then he'll want his centre-back to go and meet that at his highest point.
15:31You can't let it bounce, not with this guy,
15:33he's too quick, he's too powerful, and it's a really smart finish.
15:37I just wonder whether John McCracken could have done better as well,
15:40maybe died with his body, but as we just get a wee freeze on it
15:43as it comes in on the punt forward,
15:46and it's a good old-fashioned just turn the defence
15:48because of the pace of Ousania.
15:49He's not looking at the ball, Portalis is,
15:52he's just got to go and meet it.
15:53As soon as he lets that bounce, the power, the pace,
15:57the intention of Ousania kicks in, it's a really good finish.
16:00And you know him, Stephen, he's capable of that, isn't he?
16:02Yeah, he's made big strides to UCL Ousania at St Mirren.
16:06Last season he had a really good season,
16:08but this is the bit he needs to add to his game,
16:10that composure, because he gets into these positions all the time.
16:12And it's that bit, to go again, the next level,
16:16showing that composure, I think it's a brilliant finish.
16:18Yeah, it was a good finish.
16:19Up front for Dundee today, Simon Murray and Curtis Main,
16:22he caused a lot of problems, there are a handful.
16:24Yeah, the St Mirren back line worked hard all day,
16:28they're just constant.
16:29Obviously Simon Murray's coming short to link the play,
16:32but he's going again, he's just constantly on the move.
16:34And you see in the picture there, Curtis Main,
16:37he's a powerhouse, but he's got nice touches,
16:39and Simon Murray's just playing off and around him.
16:41Some of Simon Murray's best work.
16:42It's good because Main offers a focal point,
16:44but this is normally the opposite.
16:46They normally get Simon Murray running and Main bumping,
16:49but it's Murray that just leans into Gogic here.
16:51I have to say Richard Taylor will close his eyes when he sees this.
16:53Don't you think Deccanio's a bit of a...
16:55Well, you said that, not me, but I think it's a really good finish.
16:59But watch this again, it's a highlight.

17:03look how clever Simon Murray is.
17:05He was a handful all day, just bumped Gogic,
17:07you're not winning that header.
17:08But Taylor's his favourite, she's still doing better today.

17:12He's jumping into the air, but he slows himself down,
17:15it's a really cute finish.
17:16Again, it's a similar move, Murray's bumping,
17:18Main's round on the overlap,
17:20and it's well wide, well high.
17:24Those two would give any defence that.
17:26Look at Simon Murray.
17:27I don't know how you play against this guy,
17:29he must annoy the life out of you.
17:31He's so effective, that's a super stop.
17:33I just wonder whether he could have opened his foot
17:35and slid it down the side.
17:36But again, real handful, Steven, isn't it, that pairing?
17:39Yeah, and again, Curtis Main, he's just pinned Icovetti there,
17:43and he's probably disappointed he's not scored.
17:46You just see he's constantly on the move.
17:48Simon Murray, the chances just come
17:50because he's just constantly moving inside that box.
17:53I think this is the one he's disappointed about,
17:56in terms of, go across, go back across.
17:59You're trying to squeeze that in at a really tight angle,
18:01go across, maybe Balcombe parries it out
18:04and your mate can get the tap in.
18:06As Alistair Lambert said during commentary,
18:08there were a lot of good goals today, all the goals were good,
18:10but Mika, Mwandro, and probably the pick of the bunch,
18:13it was a lovely finish on his left foot.
18:15Kenny McIntyre on radio said the goalkeeper should have done better,
18:18I'm not having that!
18:19That's what he's on radio and not here, isn't it?

18:22Well, Tony Dock will be disappointed with Larkesh,
18:25he gets it stuck in his body and he just slaps at it,
18:28you just can't do that at this level of football,
18:30and Mika Mwandro just puts the instant shot,
18:33it's almost like no back-lifting.
18:35It's one of the ones where you've not got time to think about it,
18:38I used to love those, because when you've got time you can put yourself off,
18:41he just sets himself and lashes it in, it's brilliant.
18:43And he's had a bit of a stop-start season so far,
18:45Iunga's been in, he's been in and out,
18:47he was the main man last year,
18:49so to do that, as you say, you're not really thinking about it,
18:52and brilliant view of the St Mern fans they've got from behind that goal.
18:55Yeah, but St Mern weren't to hang on to that lead,
18:58it was Larkesh finished after a lovely move,
19:01actually a lovely wee reverse pass from Lyle Cameron.
19:05Yeah, well, they've lost Luke McEwan,
19:07and that is a huge hole in their midfield and creativity,
19:10but Cameron is well capable of stepping into those big boots,
19:14it's Simon Murray who's got the captain's armband,
19:16but Larkesh's position is really alien,
19:18for a left-back, left-wing back,
19:20he finds himself in an advanced position,
19:22sometimes he would just retreat,
19:24but he takes a wee gamble, continues his run,
19:26and I just want you to look on the next replay
19:29of the little hint from Lyle Cameron's pass,
19:32as he takes it inside,
19:34Goggy steps out there, you might want him to stay in his slot, Stephen.
19:37I just think he senses danger,
19:39it's a 4v2,
19:41I think if you're coming out,
19:43if you make that decision to come out,
19:44you've got to shut off the angle,
19:45you've got to almost just,
19:47you're saying to Lyle Cameron,
19:48just go and have the shot,
19:49because I'm leaving my man to come to you,
19:51you end up accelerating the attack,
19:53and he's slid his man in.
19:55The thing is, when he's coming out to engage,
19:57he's all in, but if you watch that one back,
19:59if you get the chance to,
20:00watch Lyle Cameron's just a little shift,
20:02and it's not even a yard,
20:03and what it does, it opens Goggy for a shot,
20:06and he can't stay in his slot then,
20:07and then he's got the awareness just to slide it in.
20:09I think on reflection,
20:11looking at this whole game today,
20:12you look at how tight the stats were,
20:14there was only one in between.
20:15A draw is definitely a fair result.

20:36it was almost like a package that came,

20:40so refreshing, in the modern day,
20:42you have the image of these midfielders,
20:44and they're all six foot two and athletic,
20:46you've got these two wee guys that are just brilliant footballers,
20:49and I loved watching Luke McEwan,
20:52every time he got the ball, he was looking to probe,
20:54he was looking to drive with the ball,
20:56and he's moved to Celtic,
20:58it made you think of Paul Hartley, obviously,
21:00the winger turned centre midfielder,
21:01I remember playing against Luke McEwan,
21:03he was just a total outside left,
21:05and I think going into the centre of the park
21:07has totally taken his game to the next level.
