00:00So you don't need to answer that question.
00:02To the late kick-off, and, er, to the late kick-off...
00:08..or we're not... We are.
00:10And a Ross County response required against Aberdeen,
00:14who could go top of the Premiership with all three points.
00:17They're certainly enjoying life under Jimmy Tilley.
00:20♪ Jimmy, Jimmy
00:23♪ Jimmy, Jimmy
00:24They remain 100%, not a lot wrong if it's Audrey right now.
00:29De Glaes scores, and Aberdeen celebrate!
00:36And it's a great ball, and Priscenti-Pissarro heads it.
00:43Liberty Israel!
00:44And Papi Gueye doubles up.
00:52It's been serene stuff so far for Jimmy Tilley and Aberdeen,
00:56eight straight wins and a perfect league start has them poised to go top of the table.
01:01Ross County look like they could be vulnerable prey
01:04after defeat by Spartans in a Hamden hiding.
01:07It's up to Don Cowey's men to disprove that,
01:10and continue their strong home form under their former captain.
01:14It's just one defeat in 12 here in Dingwall.
01:19After conceding six against Rangers, Don Cowey makes five changes,
01:22including two in defence.
01:24Barnsley low-knee Kacper Lopata makes his debut at centre-back,
01:28having made the move north on Thursday,
01:30and there's a first start for Australian international Josh Nisbet in midfield.
01:34Brown, Leek and Brophy also come in to the 11.
01:40Aberdeen stick with the same 11 which beat Kilmarnock 2-0 last time,
01:43Papi Gueye got both goals and has three in the league overall.
01:47Jamie McGrath scored five goals against County last season,
01:50as Aberdeen claimed four wins and a draw against tonight's opponents.
01:55Fight for it in the middle of the pitch,
01:58and Aberdeen emerge with possession, Shinney.
02:05Pass for McGrath, he's got it back, and Sokler was lurking.
02:09Ross Laidlaw read the ball in for McGrath,
02:12and was able to clutch it comfortably.
02:15Devlin's won it back for Aberdeen, though.
02:18Gives it to Sokler.
02:20Low ball back to Keskinen!
02:25And it's taken a neck on its way through, and Aberdeen will have the corner.
02:31Good spot from Sokler on the edge of the box, just couldn't quite get it out his feet.
02:37Nielsen calms things down.
02:40McKenzie.
02:43For McGrath, forward for Keskinen, who strikes a goal!
02:49And Laidlaw had to get down smartly, it's near post.
02:54This is what Keskinen's about, he's got raw pace, playing off the shoulder,
02:58no hesitation in getting the shot away.
03:01Nearly two metres tall figure of Ross Laidlaw did well to get down.
03:09Sokler drops in, what a flick.
03:12Harman's there for County, Shinney holds it out to Nisbet.
03:17And it's flicked into the path of Brophy,
03:20who gets there ahead of Rubisic, and that's a dangerous one!
03:23It falls for Hale, and it's in!
03:27Ross County strike first in Dingwall.
03:32And it's their top scorer this season, Ronan Hale with a final touch.
03:40Right place, right time for Ronan Hale.
03:44It starts with a nice little ball down the side of the Aberdeen defence.
03:50Brophy makes the run, gets in front of Rubisic,
03:53the little flick from Laidlaw isn't enough,
03:56and it cannons in off Hale after Nisbet's shot.
03:59County don't care how it's gone in, it's in the back of the net.
04:03And it's Ross County 1-0 Aberdeen.
04:06Meet-off helpless on the deck as that trickled past them.
04:10And despite Aberdeen's dominance of the ball,
04:14it's County who strike first.
04:20Navarre is checking this for possible offside
04:25against Eamon Brophy.
04:28Did he time that to perfection, or was he just off?
04:35Ronan Hale.
04:38Ronan Hale looks to find out if he's got a second Premiership goal of the season.
04:47And it's offside!
04:50And it's, as you were, a disappointment for Don Kelly and Ross County.
04:56And there is the verdict, how close is that?
05:01Although he's squinting in the Dungwall sunshine,
05:04but managed to control that.
05:07Shinney.
05:13Nielsen.
05:15Chips it, and it's Sockler.
05:19And there's some concern.
05:22Clash ahead here, I think.
05:25And there is Kevin Nisbet,
05:27Aberdeen's new No. 9, with Bozsa Mioski away to Girona.
05:33And it looks like he might be getting an early call here.
05:37Former Hibernian striker, on loan from Millwall.
05:43At least he's back up on his feet.
05:46He's moving OK.
05:49But that is his evening done, Jamie McGrath.
05:53No way you can continue after a blow like that to the heads.
05:56And Kevin Nisbet is on in his place.
06:01Devlin and Brubisic.
06:04Leaves that for Mitsov.
06:06Wright.
06:09Brubisic's head up.
06:11And as far as Denham, and McKenzie comes in with the tackle.
06:15And it's a poor one.
06:18And it will be a yellow card for Jack McKenzie.
06:24Does seem to get the ball.
06:26Jack McKenzie in fairness.
06:29You always run the risk tackling from behind these days.
06:39You and Anderson happy, we're all sorted now.
06:44Harman and Hale line it up, it's gonna be Ronan Hale with a strike!
06:49Well, it was a decent effort.
06:52Plenty of whip and pace, but started far too far outside the goal.
06:57There is the halftime whistle and it's all square.
07:01General Tilleen will want more from his Aberdeen sides.
07:04Ross County thought they'd gone in front through Ronan Hale.
07:09The ball just hit off him after Gavin Malloy.
07:13Blocked Nisbet's shot and went into the back of the net,
07:15but it was ruled out by VAR for offside against Eamon Brophy in the build-up.
07:21There have been precious few other chances.
07:25Precious few other chances at halftime in Dingwall.
07:28And it's Ross County nil, Aberdeen nil.
07:34Gaye for Bazawan.
07:38Under pressure from Denham.
07:40Keskinen has wriggled out of there.
07:43And Leek runs into the back of Tophie Keskinen.
07:48Really good use of his body and the defender comes across.
07:55Bazawan shinny over this free kick for Aberdeen.
08:04It will be Bazawan, he's gone for goal!
08:06It's crashed off the bar, Rubicic is there!
08:08And has that gone in?
08:11It has!
08:16Slobodan Rubicic.
08:20Has given Aberdeen the lead.
08:25He has the biggest grin on his face.
08:29Because it's his first league goal for Aberdeen.
08:34But what about this from Vicente Bazawan?
08:37Cracks off the bar, that doesn't look over.
08:42Rubicic went in.
08:46And it's so hard to tell whether the whole ball's over there.
08:52But the goal has been given.
08:55It's a tremendous strike.
08:57Catches Ross Laidlaw out.
09:04And there does not appear to be a decisive angle here.
09:12Kevin Klan saying that our staff will be having a close look at this.
09:20Iain Anderson initially delayed, then signalled for the goal.
09:25Iain Anderson is having a conversation with his refereeing team.
09:37And the goal is indeed ruled out.
09:42I think it's for offside against Slobodan Rubicic.
09:50Denham out to Jordan White.
09:55Smashed this to the back post!
09:57And there's claims for a handball here.
09:59Ross County are screaming for a penalty.
10:02Iain Anderson signals for the corner kick.
10:09We know there will be a check going on.
10:13And Nicky Devlin could be in a bit of trouble here.
10:19And there is going to be an on-field review here.
10:23And we know what that means, usually.
10:30Goes out, definitely moves further away from his body.
10:37And we've seen he's given so many times.
10:40And the penalty is given!
10:45Frustration for Nicky Devlin, but joy for the home fans in Dingwall.
10:51And Jimmy Tolleen's 100 per cent record,
10:54as Aberdeen boss could come under grave threat here.
11:00It's Hale against Miethoff.
11:02Saved by the Aberdeen goalkeeper!
11:11What a huge intervention by Aberdeen's number one,
11:16Ronan Hale, denied from the spot.
11:21Gets it low and it's going towards the bottom.
11:23It's not a terrible penalty from Ronan Hale.
11:26But Miethoff guesses right.
11:28Has a little look to that side.
11:30Miethoff reads it.
11:37Devlin fancies a run again.
11:41Advantage being played.
11:43Morris.
11:46Goes down the outside, it's Morris.
11:49It's Nisbet!
11:57And Kevin Nisbet's first Aberdeen goal
12:01may just have preserved Jimmy Tolleen's 100 per cent start
12:06as the Aberdeen manager.
12:09And credit the referee, Ewan Anderson,
12:12because he plays a good advantage.
12:14Shade of Morris again uses his pace,
12:17and it's a brilliant cut-back.
12:19It's left by Devlin.
12:21And Nisbet just strokes it home.
12:26Those are the type of chances he just gobbles up,
12:30steered precisely into the bottom corner.
12:34And Aberdeen are on the verge of going four from four
12:37in the Premiership.
12:44Yet another win for Aberdeen.
12:46You're going to be able to get the manager interviews online
12:49at BBC Scotland online.
12:51But Ross County thought they'd taken the lead.
12:53Ronan Hale in the first half, goal chopped off far offside.
12:56It was close.
12:57Fairly frustrating day for Ross County.
12:59It was.
13:01I thought he looked really bright early into his Ross County career.
13:04Worked really hard, made a lot of good runs.
13:06Scores a goal, thinks he's scored a goal.
13:08You're not lucky with it, are you?
13:10Yeah, he's lucky, but strikers...
13:12Correct, you take them all.
13:14So he thinks he's scored,
13:16and obviously a really, really tight offside decision.
13:19Yeah, I mean, it's incredibly tight,
13:21but you're offside, you're offside, Neil,
13:23I suppose, at the end of the day.
13:25Aberdeen then had their own.
13:27They had their own goal.
13:29Then had their own disallowed goal.
13:31This was 20 seconds of absolute carnage, this was.
13:34Yeah, it was a really aggressive game.
13:37First of all, this is a wonderful effort.
13:39I don't think that's over the line.
13:41Rubiz should probably score, that's not over the line.
13:44And when it's finally cleared,
13:46I mean, you and Anderson,
13:48on the scoreboard that's down as 1-0,
13:50I don't think either of these efforts crossed the line.
13:53But the problem is not that.
13:55We're not trying to clear up that.
13:57If it does get eventually cleared up,
13:59it's an offside decision.
14:01And it's Rubic's, it just goes early.
14:03You can just see there at the top of the picture,
14:05lines have been drawn in, he just dips in,
14:07he's trying to go on the quickness of the free kick being taken.
14:11Wonderful effort, as I said,
14:13so the right decision, thankfully, made by VAR.
14:16Yeah, Ross Kearney had a chance to go ahead in the game
14:19after this, Nicky Devlin-Habob,
14:21no doubt a bit of handball though, Steven.
14:23I mean, he's saying as if I couldn't get my hand out of the way,
14:26the hand moves, it's going towards goal.
14:29Right away, I mean, Harman, as soon as he hits a shot,
14:31he's claiming for a penalty.
14:33It's a shot going on target, and Nicky Devlin knew.
14:36He means his hand to the ball.
14:38It's 100 per cent a penalty kick,
14:40but what a save it was for the meet-off, Neil.
14:43Yeah, I mean, it's a well-struck penalty,
14:45he's hit it with the top of the foot,
14:47it's bending, it's dipping.
14:49He guesses right, keeps his foot in the line,
14:51makes sure he's keeping his foot in the line
14:53to make him say that he's above the law there,
14:55and it's a really, really good stop.
14:57And actually, it's pivotal, because if Ross Kearney scored that,
15:00I think they'd go on and win the game.
15:02But this football, I mean, to be a manager...
15:05Well, 97 minutes.
15:07Yeah, 97 minutes.
15:09And new signing Kevin Nisbet, fair play to him,
15:11he is a goalscorer, pops up with the winner.
15:13What a way to start.
15:15He comes on through an injury, Jamie McGrath...
15:17Yeah, I hope he's OK, he looked like a bad head knock.
15:20But Nicky Devlin makes up for the good save that he had
15:24in the period where Mitov digs him out,
15:27but he tries to back-heel this,
15:29but look at Nisbet just loitering,
15:31it's a really cool finish.
15:33Sometimes the best movement's not making any,
15:35he just hangs back, and the Ross County defence are all ball-watching,
15:38nobody's saying,
15:40where's Kevin Nisbet, where's the danger, man?
15:42And it's a brilliant cut-back, really good pick.
15:44A signer for Ross County, though, isn't it?
15:46Because, you know, after last week, their defending was awful,
15:49but this week they defended so much better,
15:51it looked like they were going to get the clean sheet and a point.
15:54You would look at that three draws, you're thinking,
15:56that's a decent start.
15:58The Rangers game, you can just scratch it with such a poor performance,
16:00you're thinking, it's been a really solid start to the league,
16:02and then you just get mugged at the end there.
16:04We don't want to see fans coming onto the pitch at the end,
16:06you can understand the emotion,
16:08but, yeah, the absolute opposite for Jimmy Tillian.
16:10OK, let's have a wee look at the table tonight.
16:13Obviously only the three games,
16:15but Aberdeen go top overnight,
16:17at least until tomorrow, that is.
16:19Motherwell's win has them in fourth,
16:21Dundee in fifth, St Mirren seventh on four points,
16:25and Ross County in ninth after that late defeat.
16:30And there is more football to come over this weekend
16:32and later into the week,
16:34starting tomorrow with the three games.
16:38Tomorrow they're on radio from 11.30.
16:40Highlights of those games catch Jonathan tomorrow night
16:43with those at 7.15.
16:45Football, Jen Beattie tomorrow at 8.15 BBC Scotland Channel,
16:48and the SWPL, Jane will bring you the highlights on Monday night.
16:52Edinburgh derby, Friday at 7.35 on iPlayer.
16:56Scotland against Poland on radio, 6.00 on Thursday,
16:59and off the ball follows that as well.
17:01Three games tomorrow, guys,
17:03Hearts, Dundee United, Kelly Hibbs, and of course the old firm game.
17:06How do you see it going, Stephen?
17:08Really looking forward to it, I think it's going to be fascinating.
17:11It's a strange build-up in terms of the Champions League
17:14and Europa League draws, the transfer window.
17:16It's not been as mad a build-up as usual,
17:19but it's going to be...
17:21I mean, Celtic are playing well at the minute.
17:23I was really impressed with them last Sunday,
17:25really slick, really fast.
17:27How can Rangers knock them out of their stride?
17:29How can they stop Kyle McGregor dictating another Celtic-Rangers game?
17:32I think the template will be the cup final.
17:34I think they managed to nullify Rio Hattati and Matt Reilly
17:38on that particular day.
17:40Can they go to Celtic Park and find a way to do it?
17:42It's all about the start, though, because Celtic have been
17:44starting games very, very quickly and aggressively.
17:46Rangers need to see that through, don't they?
17:48They do.
17:50A couple of new signings on each side.
17:52Whether any of those will take part from the start remains to be seen,
17:55but Rangers really need to give their fans some optimism.
17:58It's not been a brilliant start to the season.
18:00Celtic look powerful.
18:02I think they've strengthened again.
18:04It will be a fast start, it will be an aggressive press as well.
18:07You said there, Stephen, how well they moved the ball,
18:09but they were really aggressive.
18:11Rangers need to find a way of dealing with that press.
18:14If they go over the press, the press have got to be secure in possession.
18:18I think Linkert's play last week was a real improvement
18:22in what he's shown overall, because I think he's been a wee bit loose.
18:25But if they can get that press, then they might be able to survive it.
18:29But it's a big ask, a partisan, hostile environment.
18:32What a game we're in for.
18:34I know. Looking forward to it.
18:36Well, that is all for tonight.
18:38My thanks to Stephen and Neil for their company.
18:40We heard about the reunion of a certain iconic music duo this week,
18:44so we felt there only really was one way to end the show.
18:47Goodbye.
