00:00Oh, no teaser needed for this past Saturday night, Georgia, Alabama.
00:06If you tuned in and watch, some of you may have tuned out saying like, I can't even believe
00:10this.
00:11Georgia is a terrible football team.
00:12Alabama, by far the best team in the SEC, maybe in the country, an incredible comeback
00:17for the Georgia Bulldogs, only to see Alabama return fire with Ryan Williams, their 17-year-old
00:22freshman, who was absolutely sensational, a Saturday night in Tuscaloosa.
00:27What did that mean for college football, Mark?
00:29Well, it's everything you want, you know, in the middle of the season.
00:33It's why conference realignment and why the idea that we've gotten rid of all these cupcakes
00:37and rescheduling has kind of made this sport a little bit better.
00:40Now, again, I've been openly opposed to college football playoff expansion.
00:45This game should have been a death knell for one of these teams, and it's not.
00:49And in reality, it doesn't matter because Georgia, unless they drop two more, is going
00:54to be in the college football playoff.
00:56So there's nothing to worry about for the Georgia Bulldogs at this point in time.
00:59Again, that's if they end up losing to Texas and to Ole Miss or whatever it is, then you
01:05start to have an issue.
01:06But now with that loss, it sort of changes things.
01:10I think we see that Georgia is a little more mortal than they have been in years past.
01:13And in reality, I got to tell you, you know, as much as they came back in that game late,
01:18I think that was a product of Alabama really kind of letting their foot off the gas pedal
01:21a little bit, both offensively and defensively.
01:24This is not an offense I trust right now, not with Mike Bobo calling the plays and not
01:28without two elite pass catchers like they had last year in Bowers and McConcu have now
01:32departed for the NFL.
01:33There's just not that same threat there.
01:37And the advantage went to Alabama because it was easy for Kirby Smart to game plan for
01:41Nick Saban because he kind of knew everything he was going to do.
01:43Kirby Smart never really game plan for Kalen DeBoer because he never saw him before.
01:47So you know, this is a different offense.
01:49I think the downfield passing of Jalen Milrow and what he did with his legs absolutely was
01:53the difference maker in the game.
01:55It's fun and exciting to watch a little bit of the sweat here for somebody who had Alabama
01:58plus two and a half and Alabama money line at the end, but a little more sweat than I
02:02wanted, but nonetheless, the tide pulls it out.
