00:00And coach, that's a really good point for our reactions in week
00:06number one. Yeah, maybe just a one game sample size, but what
00:09insight and analysis can we take away? You've got 28 years as a
00:15college football head coach, you know your sample size for sure.
00:19So let's start with some of the marquee matchups that we saw. We
00:22begin in Atlanta, the top 15 tilt between Georgia and
00:27Clemson. The Bulldogs victorious and by a lot, 34 to 3 over
00:32Clemson. UGA easily covering as a 10 and a half point favorite.
00:36Coach, what did you learn about both the Bulldogs and the Tigers
00:39yesterday? Well, you know, I thought Georgia was better
00:42coming into the game, but I didn't know they were that much
00:44better. And I didn't think Dabo felt they were that much better.
00:47I thought his game plan was good. Let's keep it close to
00:50halftime, 66 to nothing at halftime. He kept it close,
00:53figured he could come back in the second half, have a chance
00:56with a turnover or two to win it. But that's what Georgia on
00:59the other side, they said, you know what, we can throw the
01:01ball, we can run the ball, we can move on their defense, we
01:03can stop their offense. So let's open it up. Georgia opened it
01:06up. Clemson had nothing to answer for it. And the
01:09separation in the talent level just showed so badly that now
01:13you have to say, OK, Georgia is still where we thought they
01:16were. Now we have to ask ourselves, is Clemson where they
01:18thought they were? And that's where I want to go, coach. We
01:21knew that Georgia had the better quarterback Carson Beck over
01:24Cade Klobnik. But what can this Clemson offense do to
01:27potentially make a run now at an ACC championship, even though
01:31it wasn't a conference game, they looked one dimensional,
01:34couldn't run the football consistently. What do we need to
01:37see out of Clemson the rest of the way?
01:40Well, they just have to open it up a little bit more. You got to
01:42remember the game plan. Clemson had the entire year to have a
01:45game plan for Georgia. And so that was the game plan just for
01:48Georgia. Now they've got to decide, well, do we need to open
01:51it up? Can we do more? And on the other hand, you got
01:54Virginia Tech losing, you got Florida State losing. The
01:57conference is not Georgia and Texas and Alabama. It's a
02:00different conference. And the ability to beat teams in that
02:03conference require different things. So I just think they
02:06need to play as well as they can play. They have to attack the
02:09ball downfield if they're going to be able to score the points
02:12and open up the running game.
02:13Clemson still the second best price to win the ACC. There is a
02:17lot for the Tigers to improve on. And coach, you know what
02:20that is like with your extensive experience as a college
02:24football head coach in learning from week one and making sure
02:27you improve throughout a season.
