00:00Hi there, there is a trend towards drier and brighter weather through the next few days
00:05but in some places it's going to take some time, particularly across parts of eastern
00:10England where in Lincolnshire and Yorkshire a wet evening is expected before the main
00:15area of rain sinks south to affect much of North Wales into the Midlands and East Anglia
00:21overnight accompanied by a gusty wind. Elsewhere the rain turns more showery, scattered showers
00:27for northern Scotland, largely dry and clear for northern Ireland. Towards the south-west
00:31we've got some cloud first thing and it's a mild start here because of the breeze and
00:35the cloud. But by 6am, well, much of the rain is turning more showery. However, for East
00:43Anglia, for the East Midlands and for London it's a dreary start. A lot of low cloud, persistent
00:49damp weather and a gusty wind making it feel cool. Wales, something a little brighter coming
00:54along but north-west England, western Scotland and northern Ireland all take the biscuit
01:00for bright blue skies first thing. Lovely start here, certainly for northern Ireland
01:04compared with the wet weather on Monday. A few showers coming into the north-east of
01:08Scotland but largely clear for Shetland and Orkney. Those showers will continue across
01:14north-east Scotland through the day. There will also be a few more showers coming into
01:18west Wales, parts of Devon and Cornwall but interspersed by brighter skies. So it's a
01:25real west-east contrast during Tuesday. The brightest spells will be in the west and most
01:30especially the north-west whilst the midlands, parts of northern and eastern England will
01:35be plagued by low cloud, outbreaks of rain at times and a strong wind, particularly strong
01:42around the coastal part of eastern England. That's going to make it feel cold in the east
01:47but in the west where we do get some sunshine and lighter winds compared with the last couple
01:50of days, highs of 15 to 17 Celsius are likely. Into the evening some of the cloud in the
01:56east could just push into central areas, even central southern England or the west country
02:02with some spots of rain but the rain is turning more showery overnight and we can expect further
02:07showers coming in on a north-easterly wind for east Anglia, Lincolnshire and the south-east.
02:12Elsewhere mostly dry by the end of the night and clearest in the north and north-west.
02:16A chilly start to the day under this area of high pressure as it builds across northern
02:21Scotland. Now with that high pressure building we can expect more widespread fine weather
02:27but once again there's an exception on Wednesday and that is for the south-east where we're
02:33going to see further showers coming in on the north-easterly breeze. Quite a number
02:37of showers moving through the wash perhaps into the east midlands. East Anglia are also
02:41seeing a number of showers coming and going through the day. So not particularly settled
02:47here I wouldn't have thought but elsewhere it is brighter, it's drier, a lot of cloud
02:51in the south, less cloud towards the north-west and then that fine weather slowly transfers
02:57eastwards through Thursday and into Friday before more rain at the weekend.
