00:00Hi there, a day of significant contrasts across the UK. Sunny skies towards the
00:05northwest but more rain to come in the east and that rain, well we've seen
00:10spiraling bands of rain since the weekend. This is the radar sequence in
00:14Sunday, heavy rain moving in and then stalling on Monday across northern parts
00:18of England, North Wales, Northern Ireland and now we've got this system pushing
00:22further heavy and at times persistent wet weather into parts of eastern
00:27England. The main focus for the rest of Tuesday, East Midlands, parts of
00:31Cambridgeshire, Lincolnshire, rain warning in force, 20 millimetres widely, 40
00:37millimetres in some places. Wouldn't normally see impacts from that kind of
00:40rainfall but of course coming on top of the saturated ground could cause some
00:45issues by the end of the day. We're also going to see this cold wind blowing from
00:49the North Sea, 12 or 13 Celsius in the east of England with thick cloud and
00:54outbreaks of rain feeling miserable. Brighter skies for West Wales, southwest
00:57England a few showers, one or two showers for northeast Scotland through the day
01:00as well. Plenty of sunshine and clear skies then overnight for Scotland and
01:04Northern Ireland under those clear skies and with lighter winds temperatures will
01:08fall away with even the low single figures possible in some sheltered spots
01:13but a lot of cloud remaining for England and Wales. Those outbreaks of rain easing
01:18but turning more showery as the night goes on across East Anglia, the East
01:21Midlands and then one or two showers coming further west into East Wales as
01:25we begin Wednesday. So again a cloudy start to the day for much of England or
01:30Wales, fairly frequent showers moving into the wash for example parts of East
01:35Anglia, one or two into London and the southeast as well as East Wales and the
01:40southwest but the further west you are the drier and brighter it will be and
01:43for northern England for much of Scotland and Northern Ireland it's sunny
01:47spells and light winds as higher pressure builds from the north feeling
01:51pleasant especially in western Scotland with highs of 16 or 17 Celsius not so
01:56pleasant in the southeast and east where that wind from the North Sea continues
02:00to blow fairly frequent showers in as we end the day but as you can see the drier
02:06and clearer weather is progressing its way southwards so that by Thursday much
02:11of the UK is fine with sunny spells and Friday starts off on the same note as
02:16well before the next low moves in for the weekend. Bye bye.
