00:00The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission will visit several locations as part of its investigation
00:06into YTL Communications in Durand-Berhad over the OneBestariNet project.
00:11MACC Chief Azam Bakyi said the investigation will take time as it involves 8,000 schools.
00:17Azam said MACC officers are looking into the quality of the services provided to schools
00:22and instances where data was not supplied to schools despite claims made.
00:27Earlier this month, MACC raided YTL Communications Kuala Lumpur office and a government office
00:32as part of an investigation into 2.7 billion ringgit payment claims related to the OneBestariNet
00:38project.
00:39YTL Power International Berhad, YTL Communications' parent company, maintained that the project
00:44was successfully completed by June 2019 as certified by the Education Ministry.
00:50The OneBestariNet project, initiated in 2011 by then-Education Minister Muki Dinyasin,
00:55had been awarded to YTL Communications.
00:58The project, designed to provide connectivity and a learning platform for teachers, students
01:03and parents, was often criticized for poor internet service.
