02:09Well, we are joined by the queens of Miss Asia-Pacific International 2024.
02:15After Hiatus since 2019, we're all excited for the comeback of this pageant that advocates for
02:21beauty and diversity. All right, ladies, welcome to the Philippines and welcome to Rise and Shine
02:26Filipinas. Is it your first time here in the Philippines, most of you? Welcome to our country
02:32and I hope you'll enjoy your stay. All right, we want to get to know more about you. Miss Singapore,
02:37I heard that you are into graphics and design. So tell us what you do in Singapore and why did
02:42you decide to join this pageant? Well, so I'm currently still a student and the reason why I've
02:49decided to join because I'm an advocate for diversity and I want to take this time to actually
02:54thank my national director. She really pushed me because she told me that after a three-year
02:59hiatus, Miss Asia-Pacific International is back. Yes. And I'm like, yes, this is my opportunity
03:04because I'm very privileged to be born in Singapore where, you know, racially and culturally,
03:12we're very inclusive. But I think that there are still some communities that are being overlooked
03:18and as a younger generation, I think that I'm here to speak up for them, including the
03:24the older generation, the aging communities, the underprivileged communities and definitely the
03:29LGBTQ plus communities. And, you know, I really want to be the voice for them and
03:38and I hope that Miss Asia-Pacific can allow me to have this platform to speak up for them.
03:43Well said. Thanks, Miss Singapore. Let's go to Miss Nigeria. Tell us what you do in your country
03:47and why did you decide to join Miss Asia-Pacific International? Okay, I'm sufficient and I am a
03:54hair stylist in Nigeria and I study pure and applied biology. So my advocacy for
04:03this pageant is building self-confidence in women. There's something I understand that
04:09we are the CEO of ourselves. We can tell ourselves what we ought to do and what we don't want to do.
04:17So I want, I love self-confidence because while I was growing up, I got bullied by my fellow
04:24mates and it reduced my self-confidence. So I want to groom young girls who do not believe in
04:31themselves, who think that they cannot be who they want to be, they cannot achieve their dreams, that
04:37they should be confident of themselves because they are unique in every aspect of their life.
04:44Thank you very much. You will inspire a lot of young girls. All right, let's go to Miss Bolivia.
04:49Miss Bolivia, you're an engineer. Wow, that's what you do and why did you join? Nice to meet you and
04:55I am very happy. My first time in Philippines, I'm crossing the world for a stay here and yes,
05:03I am Gabriela de Paiva. I am an electromechanical engineer in Bolivia and I make the possible
05:12communities and is access and a basic service with water and light is possible and for my work
05:23in the governmental states. My state is in the Amazonian Bolivia. It's a beautiful but
05:32no every time and no sometimes access and basic service. Okay, so it's good that you will use
05:42your profession. Yes, I love my profession. Bring that advocacy in your profession to help others
05:48as well. Yes. All right, let's go to Miss Japan. Good morning. All right, tell us what you do in
05:53Japan and why did you join this competition? So this competition, I have two reasons. Firstly,
06:08Miss Asia Pacific is important. Miss Asia Pacific is the importance of
06:14women's empowerment so I'm really
06:23I heard that you're working about the advocacy on passion. Tell us about that.
06:32How will you inspire young girls? My advocacy is so the importance of
06:41perseverance and passion. So as long as they have, we can do anything.
06:51Let's go to Miss Chile. Miss Chile only understands and speaks Spanish. I need a
06:56little help from Miss Bolivia. Yes, I am translator. English and Spanish.

07:05It's fine. All right. Miss Chile, tell us about your advocacy. So Miss Chile, can you translate that for me?
07:13She is a student of psychologist in Chile and speciality to kids. Okay, interesting.
07:33And she likes and the platform is Asia Pacific International to help the kids in the country. Very well.
07:49And she is the foundation with kids and problems with vulnerability and she is help with the platform Miss Asia Pacific International.
08:11And she's in the voice for the kids.
08:21What are your expectations about this competition? So the last competition was 2019. So this is a great comeback. Now it's 2024. So what are your expectations in this competition?
08:33My expectations, it's the crowning my work. But my expectation is very well because I make the new friends. She's beautiful and is formed to make and to travel to the different countries.
09:01Because for the voice of countries. And I hope also you will enjoy the beautiful tourist spots here in the Philippines to Singapore. What are your expectations for this competition?
09:13I definitely expect a very fierce competition in the land of pageantry. But of course, I hope to bring back precious memories of Philippines as well. And definitely to have some sisterhood with the sisters.
09:35It's only been a few days and it's been great. So honestly, I have no expectations. I'm opening up my mind to have fun, of course, and to win, hopefully. But of course, I don't want to set a limit to my expectations. Definitely. So yeah, thank you. Thank you for having me.
09:55Okay, thank you. My expectation by the grace of God is to wear the crown.
10:00So if I be the Miss Asia Pacific, hopefully I will be a voice to young ladies to reach to their full potentials. I talk about self confidence. So if I win the Miss Asia Pacific, I will help young girls building their self confidence. That is what I will do. Thank you very much.

10:35Wow. Me estoy preparando muy bien en pasarela, que es lo que más me destacó, y por supuesto en aleatoria.
10:41She is preparing to model pasarela and to speak.
10:46Okay. How about you, Miss Japan? How are you preparing for this competition?
10:52So my national director is before participating in Miss Asia Pacific in 2019. So I'm really inspired. So I decided to participate in this pageant.
11:14All right. So when will be the competition? And how can we support you, of course, in your different programs and activities for Miss Asia Pacific International? Anybody?
11:26So firstly, our press presentation is on the 1st of October. Our preliminary is on the 3rd of October. And our final night is on the 7th of October.
