00:21The Philippines' manufacturing performance suddenly increased in the first seven months of 2024.

00:30According to the Multiintegrated Survey of Selected Industries of the Philippine Statistics Authority,

00:35from January to July this year,

00:3799.7% of the products produced amounted to 2.1% compared to 2023.

00:47This led to an increase in the production of oil, computers, and electronic products.

00:54Because of this, the total production value of the Philippine manufacturing industry increased by 97.5%.

01:04According to a company that manufactures motorcycles and scooters,

01:08their production increased due to the continuous increase in demand

01:12since the COVID-19 protocols were lifted and the public was able to move freely.

01:18While another food manufacturing company is chasing the demand for hotdogs and other frozen goods for the upcoming holiday season.

01:27According to the BSA,

01:29the manufacturing industry is one of the factors that pushed for the growth of gross domestic product in the Philippines

01:35in the second quarter of 2024.

01:38The latest GDP amounted to 5.5 trillion pesos.

01:42The manufacturing sector contributed 17.1%.

01:47According to President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.,

01:51the positive performance of the manufacturing industry is a regional hub for our country's smart and sustainable manufacturing and services.

02:41For example, the Anti-Red Tape Authority is forcing the local governments

02:46to automate the process of business in the electronic business one-stop shop.
