David Ferguson speaks to The Standard about rescue at Levy's Beach
Transcript
00:00Here we are at Levy's Point with Dave Ferguson, FRV spokesman.
00:03How are you going Dave, what's happening here?
00:05Yeah good thank you Sandra, it appears that a male has been out in the sand dunes with some dogs.
00:10He's taken a tumble down a sand dune and injured himself.
00:15He's been able to ring through to 000 to get assistance and we're in the process now of
00:19sorting out some people and equipment to go across the dunes and to provide that assistance to him.
00:25I understand that Hems IV is on the way, looks like he
00:28suffered significant injuries and going to be taken to Melbourne.
00:32Yeah I think so, I understand the injuries might be around broken
00:35legs potentially, so that obviously immobilises him. So sometimes in these situations,
00:39given the nature of the dunes, it is easier to winch him out and then
00:42Ambulance Service will determine which way the treatment goes,
00:46where he might go to Melbourne or locally.
00:48Excellent, thanks for your help Dave.
00:49You're right.
00:55you
