Cr Richard Ziegler raises concerns about foreshore vegetation and fire risk.
Transcript
00:00My knowledge of this sort of vegetation, the coastal tea tree and the coastal wattle here is it's explosive in a fire situation.
00:12The vapours that are given off burst into flame very easily and we've got a situation where people are living in here with campfires and gas stoves.
00:22It's all very close to habitation, we've got tents and caravans very close by, we've got apartments with people with inadequate fire breaks.
00:32And I know that Council is very strong on trying to increase the fire breaks but how long does that take?
00:41These kind of things have been sitting here and we've been lucky enough not to have a fire but it's been acknowledged by fire people.
00:52CFA who say that it's an extreme fire hazard, other fire bodies saying that they don't have any worries about it.
01:02I don't think that says that they don't acknowledge it as a fire hazard but they don't have any worries about it.
01:08The fact is that this stuff is all ready to burn and too dangerously so.
