01:05And then we've got the one, two, three kid taking on, of course,
01:09the property of the Million Dollar Man.
01:12And he's managing Nikolai Volkov,
01:15the guy that's doing what he has to do to feed his family.
01:19He was paid for it, right?
01:21Yeah.
01:22We've got all kinds of action.
01:24Here we go.
01:29This contest is scheduled for one fall.
01:33Coming down the aisle, accompanied by Shawn Michaels,
01:39weighing 317 pounds.
01:43The World Wrestling Federation Intercontinental Champion,
01:49Diesel.
01:53His opponent, from Ansonia, Connecticut,
01:56weighing 230 pounds, Mark Thomas.
02:02Well, Macho Man, Diesel obviously got to be, along with Shawn Michaels,
02:07one of the most disappointed guys in the world.
02:10They're hot.
02:12They're hot as they can be, Gorilla Monsoon,
02:15because who's to say if Diesel would have pinned,
02:19brought the Hitman hard after he gave him that jackknife,
02:22we'll never know now.
02:24Well, last night at the King of the Ring,
02:27and for all intents and purposes, from my point of view,
02:30I thought that with that jackknife,
02:32Diesel did, in fact, have the number of the Hitman.
02:36No, Gorilla, you can't say that.
02:38Right now, you can't say it.
02:39I know that you're, but that's the reason it's so bad.
02:44I'm not going to, Shawn Michaels.
02:48I think that the Hitman would have kicked out,
02:50but because of the anvil, we'll never know, and that's the deal.
02:53Well, everything ended up inconclusive, of course,
02:56and, well, don't say we'll never know.
02:58Perhaps somewhere down the line, Macho Man,
03:00those two are going to meet again.
03:02Sometimes an opportunity doesn't present itself again, Gorilla Monsoon.
03:05You've got to know that from wrestling to the career that you've had.
03:09Well, there's got to be a lot of disappointed guys, I'm sure,

03:25And The Anvil volunteered to be in Bret The Hitman Hart's corner,
03:28so go figure.

03:31Well, I'm sure as the weeks go by,
03:33we're going to find out a lot more information about The Anvil, Neidhart.
03:37You know, it's been 24 hours now since King of the Ring,
03:40and a lot of questions already have been answered.

03:46These guys are trying to get back on top as quick as possible,
03:49and I don't blame them for that.
03:51I've heard some rumors, Gorilla Monsoon,
03:53that Jim The Anvil, Neidhart has been buzzing
03:56Owen Hart's ear for a long time now.
03:59Well, you know, when The Anvil left the World Wrestling Federation,
04:02sort of went into seclusion, went out of circulation altogether.
04:05Now he pops up out of nowhere.
04:08As the family member to defend The Hitman.
04:11Give me a break.
04:14Talk about Big Daddy cool.
04:16Been trying to.
04:18He is indeed what a match he had last night
04:22at King of the Ring with WWF Champion,
04:24Bret The Hitman Hart.
04:26One of the greatest matches of all time guaranteed,
04:28but Jim The Anvil, Neidhart is the guy
04:30that took the World Wrestling Federation
04:32and turned it upside down.
04:34Well, he certainly did, causing all kinds of speculation
04:37right now as to what's going on.
04:40But the King of Hearts,
04:43he's claiming that The Anvil knew all along
04:46exactly what he was doing.
04:48Well, I believe that, and I said that
04:50later on after it happened.
04:52I figured that out.
04:53I'm thinking right now that Jim The Anvil, Neidhart
04:56was trying to protect the World Wrestling Federation
04:59Championship belt from Owen Hart, The Rock.
05:03And that doesn't put him in real good favor
05:05with Shawn Michaels and Diesel.
05:07I see a devil's triangle.
05:09Obviously, for quite some time,
05:12The Anvil has been whispering into the ear
05:15of one Rocket, Owen Hart,
05:18poisoning his mind towards the rest of the Hart family
05:21with The Hitman in particular.
05:23The Anvil denied Bret The Hitman Hart
05:25the opportunity to kick out of that jackknife,
05:27so that's why I'm saying that we'll never know.
05:29And how about Razor Ramon?
05:31He can't be happy.
05:32Well, Razor Ramon in a clothesline, of course,
05:35at the King of the Ring by Jim The Anvil, Neidhart,
05:38denying him the victory, denying him the title,
05:411994 King of the Ring.
05:43Oh, boy.
05:44I wouldn't want to have the bad guy mad at me.
05:47And I know what The Hitman's thinking now, too,
05:49because I talked to him.

05:54I'm gonna tell you something.
05:55I predicted that Diesel was gonna beat Hitman for the belt.
05:59I went out on a limb, and I said that.

06:15I talked to him, and he is not up at all.

07:16Hey, everybody, it's Todd Pettengill,
07:18and welcome to your post-King of the Ring report
07:20exclusively here on Monday Night Raw.
07:22I gotta tell you, what a night of action it was
07:25last night in Baltimore, Maryland.
07:27Second annual WWF King of the Ring spectacular.
07:30Let's go back and take a look.
07:32As many of you know by now,
07:33the Rocket Owen Hart was crowned King of the Ring
07:36last night in Baltimore, Maryland,
07:38thanks to Jim, the Anvil, Neidhart.
07:41Owen is now calling himself the King of Hearts,
07:44and again, that's H-A-R-T-S.
07:47Let's take a second here to explain.
07:49It all started when Jim Neidhart came down the aisle
07:51in the WWF Championship match
07:53as the relative who volunteered to be in his corner.
07:56Everybody thought it was a great choice.
07:58These guys are former tag team partners,
08:00and of course, Neidhart is Bret's brother-in-law.
08:02Now, Neidhart in Bret's corner and Shawn Michaels in Diesel's.
08:06That's how it breaks down.
08:07The match itself between these two superstars was superb.
08:11The incredible strength and power of Diesel
08:14matched against the speed and tenacity of the Hitman.
08:17And after a grueling match,
08:19Diesel finally gets the jackknife on Bret,
08:22but Neidhart jumps in and saves the title for the Hitman.
08:25So that means Diesel wins the match on a DQ,
08:28but not the championship.
08:30There's no way of knowing for certain what would have happened.
08:33The Hitman may have kicked out, or he may not have.
08:35Those of us on hand for the match
08:37believe Neidhart just got a bit overzealous,
08:39but that wasn't the case, as we would find out later on.
08:43Let's jump ahead to the finals in the King of the Ring tournament,
08:45Razor Ramon against the Rocket Owen Hart,
08:47and guess who shows up towards the end of this match?
08:50None other than the Anvil, Jim Neidhart.
08:53He helped Bret retain his title earlier on in the night,
08:56and he would help Owen Hart become the King of the Ring.
09:00No one was absolutely sure what was going on
09:03until the coronation ceremony.
09:05Listen up.
09:07Ladies and gentlemen, the...
09:10Wait a minute here.
09:11My first proclamation as king
09:15is to be from this day forward
09:17known as the King of Hearts.
09:21The King of Hearts.
09:23And I want you people to remember it
09:26with respect for the King of Hearts.
09:32Now, another action, folks.
09:33The WWF tag title match, one of the greatest ever.
09:36Many fans believe the ring must have been reinforced
09:39because of the girth of the Giants in the squared circle.
09:42This was a hard-fought battle, but when it was over,
09:45thanks in part to the All-American Lex Luger,
09:48the Head Shrinkers retained the tag team championship
09:52in the World Wrestling Federation.
09:53And then, a match I was looking forward to the most,
09:56Rowdy Roddy Piper and the King, Jerry Lawler.
09:59Folks, none of Jerry Lawler's shenanigans
10:02could stop the hot rod.
10:03Rowdy Roddy Piper marked his return to the squared circle
10:06with a big old victory over Jerry Lyre.
10:09And you remember the imposter Piper?
10:12Well, Jerry Lawler thought he had him in his pocket,
10:15but it turns out he didn't.
10:17And by the way, folks, being a man of his word,
10:19Rowdy Roddy Piper will indeed donate a portion of his earnings
10:22to the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
10:26One thing's for certain.

11:55Nikolai Volkov, the property of the Million Dollar Man, Ted DiBiase,
12:00who also now is the owner, shall we say,
12:04Macho Man, of the Undertaker.
12:07A little bit about that, and that's chilling right there.
12:10And we're just going to have to get to the bottom of that real quick.
12:14I'm just wondering who else he's going to be owning.

12:24And if you remember Macho Man Randy Savage,
12:27it was Ted DiBiase who originally brought the Undertaker here
12:30to the World Wrestling Federation
12:32and then turned the reins over to Paul Bearer.
12:34And now he's got him back.
12:36Let's begin.
12:39What a match-up this is going to be.
12:41What a display was put on last night
12:44at the King of the Ring by the 1-2-3 Kid.
12:47What guts he showed.
12:49What intestinal fortitude.
12:51And what longevity.
12:53You know, I didn't think he was going to come out
12:55for that semifinal match, Randy.
12:56You're right.
12:57You've got to understand about this match right here.
12:59Nikolai Volkov is fresh as a daisy.
13:01And 1-2-3 Kid, he had a grueling battle against Double J.
13:05And got that victory, which is a big feather in his cap.
13:08And then went out there against The Rock at Owen Hart.
13:10And gave it his all.
13:12And you know that Nikolai's got the edge.
13:14I'm being fresh.
13:16We talked about the important ramifications of this match.
13:19Get this, folks.
13:20The winner here will meet live on Monday Night Raw, July 11th,
13:25WWF Champion, Rekta Hickman Hart, for the title.
13:30And that champ, he's still the champion.
13:32Of course.
13:34I'll tell you what.
13:35The 1-2-3 Kid really, really, really deserves this opportunity.
13:40But it's a shame that he's getting it at a time
13:43where he gave his all last night.
13:45You know he can't be 100%.
13:47Well, had a lot of the starts taken out of him.
13:49And, of course, Nikolai Volkov, fresh.
13:51He wasn't even involved in King of the Ring.
13:53Exactly.
13:54He's got the Million Dollar Man, Ted DiBiase,
13:56on the outside of the ring.
13:57And we know what kind of an advantage millions of dollars is.
14:00Well, it's obvious to me, Macho Man,
14:02that the Million Dollar Man, Ted DiBiase,
14:04literally bought and paid for this opportunity
14:07for Nikolai Volkov to get a crack at the title.
14:10No kidding.
14:11Gorilla Monsoon, would you figure that out?
14:13Well, I'll tell you what.
14:16The Kid showed me something last night.
14:19I wouldn't put anything past him.
14:21One of the greatest matches I've ever seen in my entire career
14:24is the 1-2-3 Kid against The Rock and Owen Hart
14:27in the semifinals.
14:29And let me tell you something.
14:30That right there, that match,
14:32is worth the price of admission
14:33at the King of the Ring tournament.
14:35I believe three-quarters of my voice
14:37was left in that match alone.
14:38Oh, look at this.
14:39Beautiful bear hug here by Nikolai.
14:41But look at The Kid slithering down the mat.
14:44Going for a sunset flip.
14:45Can he get it?

14:47Got those shoulders down.
14:48But Nikolai too powerful in that upper body

14:55He doesn't have the word quit in his vocabulary.

16:13since he got hooked up with the Million Dollar Man Ted DiBiase.

16:18And it landed.
