00:11Tonight, ER comes to the World Wrestling Federation.
00:15Mr. Backlund is the carrier of an infectious disease known as the cross-faced
00:20chicken wing.
00:20Yeah, and WWF champion Bret Hart has been identified as patient zero.
00:25Two weeks ago on Raw,
00:27the Hitman was the first to suffer from the painful side effects.
00:31Yeah, and that incident triggered another outbreak.
00:33It appears from all accounts that no one is immune, not even you, McMahon.
00:38Tonight, the Hitman will attempt to inoculate Mr. Backlund once and for all.
00:43Three weeks ago,
00:45the collective hearts of WWF fans stopped when Shawn Michaels collapsed.
00:49Tonight, Shawn Michaels speaks for the first time since that shocking incident.

01:29Mr. McMahon here along with Jerry The King Lawler.
01:34What a matchup this is gonna be, non-title Bob Backlund against
01:40Bret the Hitman Hart here tonight on Raw.
01:43And of course, the same Bret Hart who puts the title on the line
01:48for the first time in a row.
01:49Bret Hart here tonight on Raw, and of course, the same Bret Hart who puts
01:54the title up for grabs this Sunday night in your house.
01:57And talking about in your house, in this house, Big Daddy Cool Diesel.
02:01Let me tell you, anytime you got Bret the Hitman Hart and
02:04Big Daddy Cool Diesel in the same building, you got a potential explosion.
02:08And talk about explosion, how about Ahmed Johnson joining us for action?
02:13That's right, McMahon, and speaking of explosion, here's the man, Owen Hart,
02:17and you know what would surprise me a bit if Big Daddy Cool Diesel didn't explode
02:21right into the ring during Owen's match.
02:24And why not?
02:25I mean, you think about it, the gall, the audacity of Owen Hart to take credit for
02:30an injury as serious as the one that Shawn Michaels had.
02:33Owen Hart taking credit for putting Shawn Michaels on the shelf, and
02:37then from there, issuing an open invitation for
02:40anyone to step into the ring with him.
02:42Well, I'm very happy that Big Daddy Cool Diesel has stepped up to the plate, and
02:46it will be Diesel versus Owen Hart this Sunday night on pay-per-view.
02:50Wait a minute, McMahon, are you saying that Jeff Hardy here may have Diesel come out and
02:56be in his corner tonight?
02:59I'm saying anything can happen here in the World Wrestling Federation, and
03:01tonight will be no exception.

04:44What if Diesel's left laying a crumpled heap in the center of the ring,
04:49collapsed, as you like to say, at the hands of Owen Hart?
04:53Well, I think what we're gonna see is we're gonna see Big Daddy Cool,

05:02Nonetheless, the only way Owen Hart saves himself,
05:04I think, is if he's wearing a black glove, Diesel's black glove.
05:07Diesel has been a human wrecking machine as of late, and
05:09Owen Hart gloating over the fact that he was the one who put Shawn Michaels out of
05:14action, Diesel seeks revenge.
05:15And that was an extraordinary maneuver, a drop kick from way up above and way out.
05:22And that can work on Big Daddy Cool, Diesel, too.

08:50prior to our broadcast, and I would suggest to you that he's gonna be asked,

08:59You know, I really should have been the man interviewing Shawn Michaels.

11:50Aja Kong and Fat Boy used to sit around on the couch, as I said,
11:54eating like a couple of couch potatoes.
11:57Yeah. That was the demise of Fat Boy.
11:58He fell off the couch and died.

12:04This has turned out to be Aja Kong against Chaparrito Asari.

12:23And I must say, a great deal of speculation, a great deal of rumor
12:27has been rampant in the WWF locker rooms as of late as to whether or
12:30not Michaels will even return to action.
12:32Well, I'll just tell you, among the guys, the word is that he's finished, McMahon.
12:37And I'd have to give him some advice,
12:38just like I gave the St. Louis Rams quarterback, Chris Miller.
12:42Nobody there.
12:43There's a line in the Kenny Rogers song that says you gotta know when to fold him.
12:47And I think it's time for Shawn Michaels to fold him.
12:51What do you mean by that?
12:52Do you think it's time for Michaels to fold him?

12:55What, do you want to be a vegetable?
12:57Shawn Michaels obviously a-

13:00And look at that, you're talking about high impact of his right in the kisser.
13:04Yes, again, speculation abounding as to whether or
13:09not Shawn Michaels should return to action.
13:12And if he does, what sort of a risk would he be taking?
13:16Michaels, of course, suffering from post-concussive syndrome.
13:20Let's go back and take another look at this now.

13:25And it's those high risk tactics like that that likely has Shawn Michaels in
13:30the state that he is in.
13:31There, a hard right hand, the back of her hand, Aja Kong victorious.
13:36And unfortunately, wow, some rather graphic detail there of what can happen.

13:45If he did come back, a blow to the head just like that to Shawn Michaels could
13:49finish him forever, McMahon.

14:25want me to ask you, and that's how you're doing physically.
14:29The outpouring, their concern has been unbelievable, really overwhelming.
14:33Since you collapsed in the ring on Raw, everybody wants to know just one thing.
14:36And I guess I want to hear it from your lips.
14:38How are you feeling physically?
14:41Well, Todd, first of all, I would like to take this opportunity to tell the fans of
14:44the World Wrestling Federation, thank you.
14:47Thank you very much for their outpouring of concern for me.
14:51The response from the fans of the World Wrestling Federation has been
14:55unbelievable, and I want them all to know that Shawn Michaels is a man,
14:59is a person, is a superstar.
15:01However it is you look at him, it means a great deal to him.
15:03Thank you very much.
15:04How about physically, Shawn, your condition?
15:06How are you?
15:07I think I'm okay.
15:09I'm not suffering from any of the symptoms that my doctors and
15:15everyone else claims that I have.
15:17I haven't had any dizziness or any blackouts lately.
15:23And so to me, I feel fine.
15:26Would it surprise you to know that a lot of people are talking about you out there?
15:30No.

15:31I'm talking about the locker rooms, the Internet, I mean all over the place,
15:34the innuendo, the speculation.
15:36Let's not deal with it specifically.
15:38Let's just center on one thing.
15:40When are you coming back?
15:41That's what everybody wants to know.
15:42When is Shawn Michaels going to return?
15:44Well, as far as I'm concerned, I would return today.
15:48But there are some doctors and
15:51some people in higher places that don't agree with me,
15:54which is not uncommon for me.
15:56So it's just a matter of me doing what I always do, and
15:58that's ignoring all the authority and just doing what I want to do.
16:02So before long, I hope to be back in the ring very soon.
16:05You said I was reading your own press and believing it.
16:08But seriously, I mean, it's gotta be cool to be you.
16:11Intercontinental champion a number of times, tag team champion a number of times.
16:15I mean, you weren't WWF champion, but I mean, you've had an awesome career.
16:18There are some goals left to be attained by Shawn Michaels.
16:28Everyone knows what those goals are.
16:30And if it's all the same to everyone else,
16:33I'd like to stick around and see those goals through.
16:36Well, that being said, isn't that kind of in jeopardy?
16:38I mean, with the information that your doctor has given us about your physical
16:41condition, you gotta be facing what every athlete faces at some point in their
16:46career, and that being possible retirement.

17:06It's not about your concern for me, obviously.
17:10It's about you getting my reaction to that question on your camera, isn't it?
17:28It must be easy for you to sit there, but for me, to respond to a question like that,

19:08As we bear closer and closer to In Your House, the final week is upon us.
19:13I'd say collect the family up together, open the presents, hug and
19:17kiss all the close family members because Ahmed Johnson at In Your House,
19:22your meteoric rise here in the World Wrestling Federation comes to an end.
19:27Well, McMahon, there's some words of wisdom from Dean Douglas.
19:32You know, he talked about the end of careers.
19:35And I just, thinking back to Shawn Michaels,
19:38it's sort of sad to see a guy like Shawn Michaels' career come to an end.
19:42Well, wait a minute, I don't know that that's necessarily the case.
19:44Here we have Rick Stockhauser now, one-on-one with big, strong, powerful
19:48Ahmed Johnson, who will, in fact, lock up with Dean Douglas.

19:57And if my sources are right, and they usually are,
20:00I'd say it's been a great career, but it's over.
