Malaysia deplores the recent attacks on pagers and communication devices in Lebanon which were believed to have been orchestrated by Israel.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, who hit out at the attack, also described it as a very inhuman act.

00:08Prime Minister Datuk Sri Anwar Ibrahim told reporters after performing Friday prayers
00:13at a mosque in Selangor that the attacks were inhumane.
00:17The reality has been exposed by foreign media,
00:20condemning the attacks against supplies from Israel using pagers.
00:29And the meaning of the whole people who use it will be affected.

00:47Lebanese media reports said at least 37 people were killed
00:51and thousands more injured in explosions in areas considered strongholds

01:04Hezbollah accused Israel in the attacks,
01:07saying that Israel had violated the red lines.

01:13On the third day, I would like to describe it in short.
01:20Thousands of pager devices were targeted by the Israeli enemy
01:26and detonated at the same time.
01:28The enemy exceeded all the standards, laws and red lines in this operation.
01:36World Health Organization said the attacks on civilians
01:39had seriously disrupted Lebanon's fragile health sector.
01:43This was an unprecedented event.
01:45It came without warning.
01:46And the whole health system came under immense pressure,
01:50very, very quickly.
01:52These events are always a tragedy,
01:53but they're a worse tragedy if you don't get the response right.
01:57You know, what happened for the last two days, actually,
01:59was unprecedented incidents, the explosion of different gadgets.
02:04And it's been used, not the normal explosion materials,
02:07it's been used different.
02:08We're trying to study more exactly what happened, how it happened,
02:12what kind of material is being used and how it's affected
02:15the people that have already been wounded,
02:16which is over 3,000 people and also 37 people have died so far.
