00:00So, we had this day of gang bangs coming up, the evening one had sold out, but the morning
00:13gang bang, we still needed six dicks. So, I just got my phone out and we were all in
00:17like these great outfits. I remember she comes across the bed and I go, hi guys, look at
00:22these lovely big tits. Do you know what we are? We're fucking cock destroyers, aren't
00:26we? Fucking destroyers. Fucking cock destroyers. We love to just get your dick and fucking
00:31de-spunk them fucking balls. I stopped in my tracks. I sat up in my bed. I like pulled
00:42myself up and I was like, I need to restart this again. I need to watch this because something
00:47here has the capacity to change my life, I think. I was on set actually. Everybody just
00:54started passing it around, passing it around. Everybody loved it, obviously. Do you know
00:59what? We've got these fucking balls in our mouth. Yeah, look at that. They were fucking
01:02key bads. I'd never said the word cock destroyer before, but this day I just felt it come from
01:08within us because we were so aggressive and we were just so over the top and we just loved
01:14being animals when it came to sex. And I just remember thinking, do you know what we are?
01:18We're the fucking cock destroyers. I had never heard of them. I had no idea where they
01:24came from and it felt like overnight they were everywhere. Fucking dirty. Fucking everywhere.
01:30Yeah, are you excited about our gangbang? The gangbang, for anyone who has doubts, was
01:39real. This was real. This was not a joke. You are not trying to necessarily be internet
01:43celebrities. No. This was real. We were not, we didn't even know what viral was. We didn't
01:50know what a meme was. It was the first time that I had really seen in the front facing
01:56video age, the crossover between adult performance and comedy. We need, how many more dicks do
02:02we need? About six fucking dicks. And that's it. Yeah, and then we're good to fucking go.
02:07I thought the first video would probably be a one off, one time, one hit wonder. But then
02:13there was Sunday of day of rest. Again, I didn't even bloody plan that. It's meant to
02:21be Sunday, a day of rest, but not for me. It was a Sunday and I think I fluffed the
02:28words. I went, it's meant to be a Sunday because Sunday was always day of rest as a kid. Rebecca
02:34saying day of rest, but not for me. It's like, okay, relatable. Like we're all hustling every
02:38day, seven days of the week, 24 seven. Like that was so relatable. I was a woman of God
02:43and to take the Lord's name in vain on a Sunday. Honey, I fucking love it. Somehow in some
02:50crazy world, fuck it's a Sunday by Sophie becomes another Sunday video, almost unrelated
02:59to anything that was happening with Rebecca's Sunday video. How does that happen? Fuck it's
03:08a Sunday. Like her just turning to the camera and saying, fuck, it's a Sunday is sort of
03:14like the condensed synthesized version of exactly what Rebecca was trying to say. And
03:20in the perfect cock destroyers nature, they compliment one each other. And that's when
03:24I kind of realized that like, they're going to stick around. They lean into this sort
03:28of campiness that I think was really big with adult performers in the 70s, 80s, part
03:32of the 90s. But it had never been done for Twitter. And then every video after that just
03:38back to back to back hit viral every single time. Let's destroy them. Dick mode was activated.
03:49I'm driving for dick. I wanna be that condom. This wasn't just a one hit wonder. And I think
03:56a lot of that just stems from the fact that these, you know, this is who they were. They
04:01were just being themselves. I think they were absolutely early adopters of social content
04:05and and masters of getting clicks really. But I think that the thing that differentiates
04:10them from other creators in that sphere is that they were so clearly having fun with
04:13it. I was found that I was the highest energy and I couldn't find anybody that I could kind
04:17of have this energy with on camera. And I had met my double like it was me and Sophie
04:23that kind of naturalism that made people like it and made people respond to it so much
04:30because they were just being them and they weren't necessarily concerned with going viral.
04:36They had already had a career. They just needed a few more people for their gang bang. Me
04:41and Sophie, we share very similar history. We confided in each other. We discussed what
04:45it was like being single parents, being in the sex industry and putting our kids first
04:50and how unsupported we were by the dads of the kids. And just that the pair of us, we
04:55didn't give a fuck. We were so fed up with being shamed that we didn't care. We knew
05:02that we were doing the right thing and we knew that we had a good heart. We we didn't
05:06know everything, but we were just trying to do our best. They called me a gay icon and
05:10I was like, that's the stuff that Kylie gets called, you know, Madonna. I was like, that's
05:15really nice of you. I don't know why. But anyway, when queer people saw Sophie and Rebecca,
05:20they immediately sort of saw something that they related to, because visually you can
05:26sort of see that Sophie and Rebecca are maybe othered in a way, I think, with their physicality,
05:32their very extreme features. These are outlandish people who are doing exactly what they want
05:36to do in life. And I want to see what they have to say, because that's something that
05:40we can all relate to.
05:45The queer community loves it. And I think it's because we can relate to it in a lot
05:48of ways. Getting to a point in your life where you don't care what anybody has to say,
05:51you're just going to do whatever you want and you're going to put yourself out there.
05:54I think that's something that the queer community can really relate to and they really understand.
05:57At this point, Sophie and I realized that people want to see us together a lot. The
06:01famous saying of famous for 15 minutes, I thought that that's what this would be. And
06:06it just it wasn't dying at all. It was just getting bigger, if anything.
06:09Whether you're watching them for the porn or you're just watching them for the entertainment,
06:13you know who they are.
06:15A lot of the success that the Cock Destroyers had, strange enough, kind of is linked back
06:21to Kara Cunningham.
06:22Okay, so I know what everyone's thinking. How do the Cock Destroyers link back to Kara
06:31Cunningham's annoying ass? And to that, I would say, doesn't everything viral video link back
06:37to me?
06:38Leave Benny alone. Please.
06:43I know a thing or two about going viral and maintaining an audience and a cult following
06:48and also spinning 15 minutes of fame into years of infamy.
06:53So when I seen the Cock Destroyers, I instantly recognized the brilliance in them. And I was
06:59like, they actually have the X factor. They have the thing that is missing in the zeitgeist.
07:05And I still, to this day, don't think we've seen anything like it or ever will again.
07:10I think that the Cock Destroyers created magic.
07:15So she introduced me to Artie.
07:25Kara introduced me to Matthew Camp. Matthew Camp was really successful for Daddy Couture.
07:32It was a strong brand alignment. One day Kara calls me and says,
07:37Well, I have someone else for you to meet.
07:40And so initially, Artie was like, Okay, girl, like, I'll check it out. But I don't think
07:44Artie was really like, excited or like he didn't see the vision until he seen the vision.
07:49Eventually I get on a call. I love the sound of the deal. And I get to design my first
07:54top. I honestly had no idea that they would do so well. In fact, there was a little bit
07:59of me was like, Oh, probably sound like too. We sold thousands.
08:06Rebecca and Sophie really when I first met them over the top female power. I mean,
08:09we're talking tits, pans, blonde hair. It's really like fucking amazing.
08:14They are internet pop culture. They are everything that Andy Warhol predicted the future would be.
08:20And if Andy Warhol's watching over us, he's doing somersaults and backflips and shablams, honey.
08:24Because he's a happy man seeing the Cock Destroyers do what they do.
08:28We got together and created these really fun, just sort of like amazing ad campaigns that
08:32kept going viral. People absolutely loved them. And it was just really silly and fun.
08:43Legend has it Rebecca Mermaid comes to Spunk Island
08:47to de-spunk every pirate that comes near her mouth. I must find her.
08:55There was a point where I actually brought Rebecca and Matt into the brand
09:00and they were to really take the reins on Daddy Couture.
09:05And I'm like, fuck yeah, let's do it.
09:08Hi, I'm Matthew.
09:09And I'm Rebecca.
09:10Welcome to Couture.
09:12Daddy Couture.
09:14Anybody can be a daddy.
09:15Anybody can be a daddy.
09:16I'm a daddy.
09:17B.D.E.
09:18Big Daddy Energy.
09:20I just think it made natural sense. I'm loving the brand.
09:24The brand was doing so well. So naturally, it was time for New York Fashion Week.
09:30We got pulled in all the models that had been used like Biscuit,
09:34Joey Mills, loads of other models.
09:37One of the best times I've ever had. 100%.
09:40Okay, to be completely honest with you, that was probably the best,
09:44my happiest memory in life out of all 35 years of my life.
09:47It was amazing. It got such good reviews that it was full. There's loads of people there.
09:52I remember seeing Andy Cohen. I was like, what the fuck?
09:56I really had no business for doing fashion show for fashion week with
09:59t-shirts with just with my face on them.
10:02You did what is in your head for this company, right?
10:05Without questions, you were just like, oh, you're black. Oh, you're white.
10:08Oh, you're trans. Oh, you're Asian.
10:09And you just did it without question, which made other companies have to do it.
10:13It felt amazing being part of that because
10:16it was the first of its kind and like about damn time, right?
10:19I'm starting to feel that we're having this impact on people,
10:24not in just like a laugh, but like serious issues that a lot of people had said to us,
10:30you know, I was going to end my life and you both have changed my life.
10:34Me and Sophie, we went off and we just, it really hit us a lot emotionally.
10:40What did we do to deserve such like this, this love?
10:43I remember that really striking a chord for me in that this is really serious.
10:47People are looking up to us and there's something that people are seeing in us
10:52that is enabling them to be their authentic selves.
10:57I didn't know that that introduction to Daddy Couture
11:00with Rebecca would lead into a TV show.
11:09Had Artie Davis that put all these things together.
11:12That's how Slag Wars was born.
11:18Oh, we're all a really good team.
11:22We're really good at this.
11:23We can be doing more.
11:25Maybe an idea of a show happening.
11:27When the project first came to me, I wasn't involved in the producing at all.
11:31So I wasn't a director.
11:32I wasn't a producer.
11:33My only task was taking this idea of the next Destroyer
11:36and turning it into some kind of episodic competition show.
11:39So I really started thinking about how do you turn the Cock Destroyers into games?
11:44How do you turn them into skits?
11:45How do you turn them into essentially what we know now as Slag Wars?
11:50I realized while that was happening that this is going to be such an outlet of joy for people
11:55and something that like our community really needed.
11:58I remember us thinking about the name because Sophie and I,
12:01we would use a lot of like slag, etc.
12:04And I remember Artie talking about the word slag
12:07and how America was taking on this word as well.
12:10They came up with the name Slag Wars and me and Sophie were like,
12:13yeah, that's great.
12:14Finding the next Cock Destroyer.
12:16I remember someone telling me that was close to me,
12:18like this is going to save someone's life.
12:20This is going to keep people happy and satiated.
12:24Slag Wars, season one in London.
12:26They wanted me bad, people.
12:27You hear me?
12:28I did not have a passport.
12:30So because my birth name was Nico and now here I am as Nicky Monet,
12:34they only approve you for a three-month passport to test you out.
12:37And then you have to reapply again and only get a six-month one and then reapply again.
12:41So by that time we had no passport and Artie called Kamala Harris.
12:47So thanks to the office of Kamala Harris.
12:50She was not VP at the time.
12:52No, however, she didn't get me my passport.
12:54She got Artie for being annoying and calling every single day.
13:00We are waiting for a wild ride.
13:03The show Slag Wars really is an amazing creative device for humanizing sex work
13:08and really showing that the people that are involved in this industry are real human individuals.
13:18There wasn't anything like it that's ever been on TV.
13:20Andrew Barrett Cox came up with this song.
13:33I have a very specific writing style.
13:35It's not for everybody.
13:37So I like to write everything I do,
13:40especially if it's something that is short form, as high octane as possible.
13:49I wanted it to be catchy because you want a theme song.
13:51People normally would skip over it.
13:53You want that to be something that they would stay and want to listen to.
13:57I remember we had to do the sound bits for this song.
14:01We're under a blanket.
14:03Matt and Artie's come to the hotel room.
14:04We're under a blanket and we're doing our little bits.
14:06It just made it all a bit more comical thing.
14:17I think that Slag Wars was such a resounding success because we have never seen people
14:23in the history of even the internet be so uninhibited in their sexual prowess and empowerment.
14:30And in a way that translates to comedy, it's not even about sexiness anymore.
14:34It's just like, fuck, yeah, we have fucking desires.
14:38Let's be unashamed and fucking explore these desires.
14:42I think that is the pinpoint of it, is that there's so much shame in this world
14:47in terms of identity, in terms of sex and all these other things.
14:51And what they represent without even knowing it is uninhibitedness.
14:55That's what has been missing for years and years in society.
14:58Just felt like all these people that we've met during this viral time
15:02realized how many friends I've made, like Sam Morris helping with the photography challenge,
15:06Matt Lambert helping out with the porn challenge,
15:09who had shot myself and Sophie for a magazine,
15:12even the amazing Alexis Stone, Bag of Chips as well.
15:16We got so much love and support from these celebrities,
15:20you know, coming in and helping us make this awesome show.
15:23You have people that are fully open, undressed.
15:26You have people from every gender, everything.
15:29There's no boundaries, there's no rules.
15:32It's just this full, raw, open sexual TV show
15:36that's fully there to be broadcast to everybody.
15:39The concept of the show, of it sort of being about nothing,
15:43but also about love and dating and sex positivity
15:47and shining a light on how important those things are
15:50within a community of marginalized people,
15:53was exactly what made the show catch, I feel like,
15:56because there's a hollow space in media for that.
15:59That's something that we need more of.
16:01We know that in this industry, we can get fetishized a lot for our race.
16:05I opened up to the house being non-binary,
16:07and I'm Black, and I'm queer, and I'm proud.
16:10Flag Wars was, at least for me, like the most diverse cast
16:13of adult performers that I've ever seen all on one stage.
16:15So it was really cool to see Sophie and Rebecca aligned with that.
16:18I mean, of course you want to know who wins,
16:19but you're not tuning in week to week to be like,
16:21okay, you're tuning in because it just brings you so much joy.
16:25And that's just the atmosphere that Sophie and Rebecca were able to build,
16:29was just this really joyful place where people would come and be themselves
16:33and maybe be their most dramatic version of themselves.
16:35But it was just truly unfiltered.
16:37Flag Wars was really the first reality competition show
16:41that was open to queer people and wasn't about drag
16:45or didn't just focus on the hardships of being queer.
16:49And to see it blow up like it did really paved the way
16:52for so many other queer shows to come out like we have now.
16:55I mean, the show that I'm on wouldn't be around if it wasn't for Flag Wars.
16:59I tried taking my own life, Rebecca,
17:02and you saved it by bringing me to New York.
17:05You brought seven very different people together,
17:09and this is what it means to be a cop destroyer.
17:13I'm just so happy with the success of Flag Wars.
17:16We look great. It was really great seeing us on screen.
17:19Being put in that position where we have to judge people
17:22and give them critique, et cetera, this is all really new to me and Sophie.
17:26And I think Sophie really struggled with giving critique.
17:29What are we going to do? Not eliminate anyone.
17:31No one ever gets eliminated. No one ever goes home.
17:33We're just here in this house with all of these people.
17:37Wouldn't that be great?
17:38Why don't we just try and do something like that
17:41where we can kind of incorporate them all in
17:43and then we don't have to send anyone home?
17:45Which was fine because it worked really well for both of us
17:47because if it was bad cop, good cop,
17:49I could bring on my mistress more bad cop.
17:52It worked.
17:53You are my best friend.
17:54I love you, Sophie.
17:55I love you.
17:56I love you so much.
17:58Everyone was talking about it,
18:00and I was really looking forward to Flag Wars 2.
18:02I was super excited.
18:04Flag Wars 2 was put on the table by a television company.
18:07Flag Wars season 2 was very attractive
18:09because it was just like, if we like season 1,
18:11why don't we do a season 2? It's a no-brainer.
18:13By this time, mine and Sophie's relationship was not the best.
18:18I think that we both wanted to be more apart.
18:22The pressure was on for both of us, really,
18:24in a sense that I don't think we were happy anymore.
18:28We start hearing all this stuff on Twitter
18:30and other various avenues
18:31that Sophie and Rebecca aren't doing so good as a pair.
18:36Eventually, they, you know, they split.
18:40The Cock Destroyers breaking up
18:41was, I think, one of the worst days in queer history
18:44that we've had in a very long time.
18:46It was sad.
18:46I was genuinely buzzing for a second season.
18:49The way our lives had changed and the opportunities we got,
18:51I wanted that for a next generation of people.
18:54We were very disappointed and sad when Flag Wars season 2 fell through.
18:57We were really bummed,
18:58but we always left the window open if it ever returned.
19:01It's sort of like hearing that your parents are breaking up, in a way.
19:04It's just this very kind of, oh, sullen, heartbreaking moment
19:09because, you know, a lot of people find safety and comfort and humor in these videos.
19:14You know, these are a lot of people's comfort watches
19:17and they've brought people together.
19:19They brought friends together.
19:20People talk about these in their relationships.
19:22So it's tough when something like that happens and you lose that
19:26because it's just sort of something that you think is always going to be there.
19:29I think when the Cock Destroyers broke up,
19:31it was the closest thing that we've all felt to when the Spice Girls broke up
19:35and it still left a dent in all of our hearts.
19:37But the good times live on and that's the beauty of viral videos
19:41because we'll always have those memories.
19:43Oh, hi, guys.
19:45Look at these lovely big tits.
19:46Do you know what we are?
19:48We're fucking Cock Destroyers, aren't we, babe?
19:50Cock fucking destroying.
19:51Fucking Cock Destroyers.
19:54A year and a half later, everything's going great.
19:57I'm in a really good place and...
20:02Artie says, I want to have a serious conversation with you,
20:05but you need to be sitting down when I ask you.
20:09And I was thinking, like, what could he possibly ask me?
20:12Okay, fair enough.
20:12So I sat down, like, whatever.
20:15I wasn't expecting this.
20:16Slag Wars 2.
20:18When I found out they were doing season two of Slag Wars, I was ecstatic.
20:21I know that I didn't want to be in it.
20:22I can't handle losing twice.
20:23But I did want to join production.
20:25When I first heard about Slag Wars 2, I was thinking,
20:28okay, so we're back in business.
20:30We're going to have a major reunion.
20:33This is going to be what the internet is waiting for.
20:35We're so excited to give this opportunity to some new people,
20:38fresh faces and people that really deserve this exposure,
20:41have an important voice and are ready to scream about it.
20:44We were very hopeful that they would get along this time.
20:46And for a while, it looked like they would.
20:48The original concept was that we were going to have a team Rebecca
20:52and then a team Sophie,
20:53and they would oversee their own individual slags
20:56who would be going head to head over the course of the season.
20:58Literally a week before Slag Wars is about to happen,
21:04some stuff happened which I definitely don't want to talk about on camera.
21:11I...
21:15It was becoming more and more obvious
21:16that I wasn't going to have a co-star to do a show with.
21:22I was rewriting the entire script.
21:25I was getting rid of the teams.
21:26I was figuring out how the game functioned with just Rebecca hosting.
21:30It was...
21:32It was not a fun week for anyone.
21:35Like...
21:37It was so close to the day that was happening.
21:40We had slags.
21:41We had people flying in.
21:43Like...
21:45It's just...
21:50Madness.
21:51It's just madness.
21:52We were planning to do the show with Sophie
21:55and, you know, obviously that just didn't happen.
21:58It couldn't happen.
22:00So...
22:08By the time we realized that Sophie wasn't going to be joining us,
22:10I think what everyone was still deeply committed to was this idea of the cast.
22:14All of our slags were cast.
22:15All of them were excited to do this project
22:17and all of them still really wanted this platform.
22:20Now in this climate, this social climate,
22:22this political climate all over the world, not just the UK,
22:26we need a platform like this.
22:28It's silly at times, but deep down it is serious.
22:32I haven't seen anybody in person.
22:34This is going to be my first chance in three years to see Artie, Topher, Matt
22:40and the whole team face-to-face for a long time and just give them a big hug.
22:45So much has happened.
22:45It's been a fucking roller coaster.
22:47But I'm just happy to be here
22:49and I'm really happy that our little family is back together.
22:52Viewers are even more primed for this kind of queer content
22:55than they were when the first season came out.
22:58I think that a lot of people spent the height of the pandemic
23:00exploring their own sexuality
23:02and existing online in a way that we had never seen before.
23:05Where the first season was really exciting and novel,
23:08I think that the second season will really resonate
23:09with people who did that kind of self-exploration during the pandemic.
