00:00President Ferdinand R. Marquez Jr. praised some of the powerful government officials

00:06who showed their commitment to work and service to the public.

00:10At the same time, the President assured the government's continued support

00:14to improve the well-being of government officials.

00:18Alan Francisco was at the center of the news.

00:22And a happy 124th Philippine Civil Service Anniversary to my fellow workers in government.

00:30So let me congratulate these years' outstanding government workers.

00:37Your exceptional service, you're complemented by your principles, your virtues, your hard work

00:43has truly inspired everyone to strive to make a difference in our society.

00:48That was President Ferdinand R. Marquez Jr.'s greeting to government officials

00:53during his inauguration of the Awards Rides for 2024 Outstanding Government Workers in Malacanang.

01:00This occasion shows the outstanding talent and dedication of government officials to the public.

01:07The annual search for outstanding government workers is based on the Civil Service Act of 1959.

01:13It was proposed by former President Ferdinand E. Marquez Sr.

01:17and more than six decades after its inception,

01:21President Marquez said,

01:29Three prestigious awards were given,

01:31and these are the Presidential Lingkud Bayan, Outstanding Public Officials and Employees or Dangal ng Bayan,

01:37and the CSC Pag-asa.

01:39According to President Marquez,

01:50This is in our DNA.

01:52We serve because we love the Philippines.

01:55The public servants are tasked with speeding up the process of the government

02:00in improving the economy and improving the service.

02:03The President believes that the awards and government workers

02:08helped in the development of a new Philippines.

02:11He also called for continued transparency in work and the service of integrity.

02:18Thank you for all the good work that you all do.

02:21And I hope that this small recognition that we do today to our awardees,

02:30it just serves to remind us of the army of people

02:34who are working quietly, who are not recognized,

02:38but continue to go to work every day and do their job the best way that they can.

02:44And for that, I thank you all who are in the civil service.
