00:00But now we're getting big. Oh my God, we've got a performer interrupted job at all. You know what? I'm jumping up here, dude
00:06I'm at the Emmys. I've already kind of snuck in the door
00:09Well, we're glad to have you didn't have to sneak in the red carpet was literally laid out for you
00:13Listen, I'm telling you man. I'm watching everything. I watch on my tour bus and living room right behind us
00:19It's the coolest experience ever. That's why we love what we do too. Yeah, it's crazy, man
00:23I want to be in a TV show now so I can come every year dude
00:25I'm calling all my country music friends and tell them we are missing the mark dude. We got to be at the Emmys
00:30Happening you said it it's gonna happen. Well, and you're not just here. You're gonna be up on that stage performing during the in memoriam
00:37What is what is that like to get asked to do something like that, man? It's an honor, you know
00:42It's an honor because tonight I've been selected to honor some of the greatest storytellers in the business ever
00:48And I'm a storyteller in my own regard and I think it's really cool that in a room full of storytellers
00:53We're gonna use music as a moment to honor some of them and and hopefully help that's what music's really about right music's medicine
01:00Hopefully somebody watching the program the night gets it's helped
01:03Yeah, and music has been medicine for you and I have to tell you this
01:07I just did our people cover story that's out this week with Snoop Dogg and he talks about his arc and his journey from
01:13Where he started to where he is now
01:14Tell us just a little bit about yours for the few people out there that might not know
01:18Oh, look, there's Dakota Fannin on the screen. I just met her. She was the nicest person
01:24No, it's funny I I
01:26think just
01:28Man, I don't want to be the guy. I just got to say it. Honestly, it's been God. It's been grace, man
01:33Not just the art the art followed the human
01:37The jelly roll story is the man evolved from being a very hateful spiteful
01:41victim mentality mad at the world kind of human to taking accountability and self-reflection and and now tries to live in gratitude and the music
01:49Just followed the art just followed wherever I was dragging it as a human
01:53When the fans have followed the art
01:55So, how is it? What does it meant to you to see people also transformed by your art to go on a similar journey inside them?
02:01Incredible question man. I think it's growth together
02:04right, it's like
02:06the I think one of the worst feelings in the world is hopelessness and loneliness and I think that
02:11We're growing together because it's not feeling like we're alone anymore
02:13We're kind of in this fight together and that's what music does and it's what television does it's what storytelling does it's what art does
02:20So, I think that's I'm just trying to take them on a journey I'm on hopefully we'll grow together
02:24It's so powerful what you're doing and juvenile correctional facilities and just across the board like really
02:31Using your art to have an impact. It's powerful. But I do have to ask you. Where is that fabulous wife of yours?
02:37Oh, I'm so excited. I hope you're watching this mama the most asked question on the red carpet has been where's your wife?
02:43We're in the middle of a tour right now
02:44We played New Orleans last night and we're in Orlando the next day or two
02:48So we uh, she took a day with the family to take him to the beach in my absence
02:51And I told her God had a little side quest for me. So I had to slide to LA and do this
02:56Yeah, how are you standing up right right now? Oh, man. I feel great, baby
02:59I'm I'm in the best shape of my life right now. Don't look like it, but I swear I am
03:05What is your key? What is your key to traveling and
03:09Can you sleep anywhere at this point? Yeah, I'm a yeah normally on the bus between cities, but
03:15Sleeping water are my best friends, man
03:17I just sleep a lot and drink a lot of water and it's so easy to stay energetic when you know the message and the
03:22purpose
03:25Listening but I'm loving this little Apple core. I'm wondering
03:28That's right there. What's one of your favorites? Oh, dude, my Apple man. It's a bad Apple, baby
03:32I might be bruised but I'm still sweet. I
03:35Love my cross man. I think my crosses reminds me to carry my cross every day. It's my public professional faith
03:41I'm not one of those guys that runs around screaming about my faith a bunch
03:44I try to wear it and put feet on it literally and figuratively you are congratulations on everything
03:49We can't wait to see the performance tonight. Enjoy your night and enjoy your
