00:00We're here with the latest on the typhoon Ferdie and the weather this weekend.

00:05We'll be joined by Assistant Weather Services Chief, Chris Perez.

00:09Good morning, Sir Chris. This is Connie.

00:12Good morning, Ms. Connie, and to all of our viewers.

00:16At this time, where is the typhoon Ferdie and when is it expected to enter our Philippine Area of Responsibility?

00:25Well, Connie, it's still outside our PAR and earlier it was at Lime, 1,605 kilometers.

00:32They're at the end of the zone.

00:34We're expecting it to possibly enter the northeastern boundary of the PAR this afternoon or later tonight.

00:40And if that happens, we'll give the local name, Ferdie.

00:43But it's also possible that tomorrow morning or the day after tomorrow,

00:47it will exit the northern boundary of the PAR.

00:50Even so, even though we don't have a landfall scenario, we'll continue to monitor and give updates

00:56because in some ways, it has been influenced by the typhoon that is currently affecting the southern zone, Visayas and Mindanao area.

01:05Sir, is it fast for Ferdie to enter our PAR?

01:12I'm sorry?

01:13Is it fast for Ferdie to enter our PAR? Is it possible for it to get stronger?

01:21Well, that's right, Connie.

01:22Our projection is that within the next 12 hours, once it enters our Area of Responsibility,

01:27it will exit and it's almost at the northeastern tip.

01:32So the distance of our boundary in that area is small.

01:35That's why we're expecting that once it enters, within 12 hours or less,

01:39it will possibly exit our PAR.

01:42I see. But is it also possible for Ferdie to get stronger,

01:45just like what we experienced with Baguiong Karina and Enteng?

01:49Well, actually, the typhoon is now being influenced.

01:52We are experiencing rain in some parts of the southern zone, Visayas and Mindanao area

01:58to the point that our regional services division issued regionalized or localized heavy rainfall advisory.

02:07In the next few days, it is possible for the typhoon to continue to hit our area,

02:12our countrymen in the southern zone, Visayas and Mindanao area.

02:16Aside from monitoring our update here in Baguio City,

02:19Ferdie will also continue to monitor the localized rainfall advisory

02:24that our regional services division will issue in the southern zone, Visayas and Mindanao area.

02:31Sir Chris, you mentioned earlier that the typhoon Ferdie will exit our PAR quickly.

02:38The next day, you said, it's an early morning, it might already exit.

02:42Sir Chris, are there any LPAs that might become HENER?

02:47Will they have an interaction?

02:51We are not ruling out the possibility.

02:53In the next week, we are hoping that either here in the west of Luzon,

02:59towards the West Philippine Sea, or here in the cloud bands that Ferdie will leave,

03:04there might be a change in the weather.
