00:00When it comes to weight loss, there's no doubt that oatmeal can definitely be your
00:17best friend.
00:18And I'm going to explain to you the many different healing medicinal properties that oatmeal
00:26has when it comes to your health.
00:28It's just not going to help you lose weight, it's going to help your heart, your intestines,
00:33your blood sugar levels, your insulin levels, your energy.
00:39There's just so many positive things that you should really understand.
00:44And the benefit of this fiber is that it will help you feel full and satiated.
00:48These beta-glucans mix with water and it thickens the food in your intestines.
00:54This will slow down digestion and help you feel satiated for so much longer.
00:59And here's the big problem.
01:01Those excessive sugars, processed refined sugars, is what increases hunger.
01:07It increases our ghrelin levels, which is our hunger hormone.
01:11It decreases our leptin levels, which is our satiety hormone.
01:16But oatmeal slows digestion down.
01:20It allows sugars to go into the cells slowly.
01:24It prevents the spike of insulin.
01:27It's the excessive insulin, the hormone insulin, that allows our body to continue to store
01:33more fat.
01:35And if you can lower and keep your insulin levels down, you're not going to store the
01:39fat and this is going to help you lose weight.
01:43And the fiber in oatmeal will help your heart and your cardiovascular system.
01:48It will help prevent clotting.
01:50It reduces your cholesterol levels.
01:53The beta-glucan binds to the cholesterol-rich substances in your body and moves them through
01:58your digestive tract until they're eventually flushed out.
02:02So if you have high cholesterol, you need to start eating more soluble fibers.
02:06And when it comes to oatmeal, it's filled with this soluble fiber.
02:11This is what binds to that water and allows it to swell in your system, giving you satiety
02:16and having that fullness so you don't overeat.
02:20I will guarantee that oatmeal will do wonders for you to increase that peristalsis within
02:26the intestines.
02:27And the outer layer of oats, oat bran, is full of fiber.
02:30Oat bran helps move the bowels.
02:33It will help get rid of the excess waste.
02:35It will help reduce bloating.
02:36It will make you feel tremendously lighter and healthier.
02:40And oats have a group of antioxidants called avinanthromides.
02:44They bump up the body's nitric oxide levels and nitric oxide opens the blood vessels.
02:50It dilates them so more blood can get through those blood vessels much easier with less
02:55resistance.
02:57That takes a tremendous load off the heart and that will lower your blood pressure.
03:02And nitric oxide also acts as a bronchodilator by relaxing the bronchial smooth muscles that's
03:08linked to the respiratory system as it also helps reduce inflammation.
03:13And those oats are known to help fight cancer.
03:15The antioxidant avinanthromides help slow cell mutations and according to research the
03:21high fiber content in whole grains helps reduce insulin resistance which is one of the culprits
03:27in the development of colon cancer.
03:29And the beta glucans in oatmeal also stimulates the functioning of the immune system as those
03:34immune cells help fight bacteria and viruses.
03:37And oatmeal can also get you to sleep quickly so you can sleep deeply through the night.
03:43Oatmeal contains tryptophan an amino acid that gets converted to serotonin and then
03:48into melatonin.
03:49Melatonin is a sleep hormone that regulates our body's sleep-wake cycle.
03:53With the combination of magnesium in oatmeal along with melatonin this will definitely
03:59help you get a good night's sleep.
04:01And there are three types of oatmeal and the first one which is the most healthiest are
04:06steel cut oats.
04:08And it's made by chopping the freshly harvested oat groats with a steel blade.
04:13And steel cut oats are the best oats for you when it comes to losing weight as well as
04:19the health of your body.
04:21Why?
04:22Because they have the lowest glycemic index they are the least processed.
04:27And because of that this slows down the absorption of sugar into the cells.
04:32It takes longer for sugar to digest balancing those sugar levels preventing insulin from
04:37spiking and what does that mean?
04:40That means you're not going to crave that hunger.
04:43It's going to keep you full longer.
04:45You're not going to crave those sugars.
04:47And rolled oats are your second best.
04:50This is a little more processed they're steamed and flattened in the flakes making them easier
04:54to cook and digest.
04:55Now these rolled oats do have a higher glycemic index which is not as good as steel oats but
05:00this is your second best bet.
05:03So that all the nutrients in oatmeal are fairly similar although steel oats have a
05:08little higher protein and a little bit less carbs.
05:12Now when it comes to cooking these rolled oats you can cook them a lot faster in about
05:18three to four minutes where steel oats may take 20 to 30 minutes.
05:22And the last type of oatmeal is instant oats.
05:25They are similar to rolled oats but they are steamed for longer and flattened thinner so
05:31they can cook even faster.
05:33So yes they are definitely processed more because you can cook them real quick.
05:39But the problem with instant oats is that they're filled with sugar.
05:45There's many different flavors that they add.
05:46They're hidden sugars.
05:47You need to be very very careful with this because even though you think you're taking
05:52in something healthy you're doing something bad for your blood sugar levels.
05:56You're going to get that rebound.
05:58You're going to crave more sugars because you're going to get a rapid rise of glucose
06:03in your bloodstream.
06:04And there is such thing as the oatmeal diet.
06:07It has helped millions of people lose many many pounds.
06:10But I'm not going to stress a diet.
06:13I'm going to stress you to start eating healthier as well as doing some type of exercise to
06:20increase your metabolic rate.
06:22And stay away from those flavored oatmeal.
06:25They're processed, they're refined, they're filled with sugars and bad fats.
06:31And be aware of what you're putting in your oatmeal.
06:35Make sure you're eating plain oatmeal.
06:38Be creative.
06:40Chia seeds, flax seeds you could put in there.
06:42Put your berries in, your strawberries, your raspberries, your blackberries, your blueberries.
06:48You could put avocado in there if you want more fiber.
06:51Use your almond milk.
06:53Put your nuts, your almonds, your walnuts.
06:56It's limitless.
06:58You can do anything you want.
07:00Remember, you can eat your oatmeal for breakfast.
07:04You can eat it for lunch.
07:05You can eat it for dinner.
07:06It's just not for breakfast only like people think it is.
07:11So I promise you, if you start eating healthy oatmeal, your cholesterol levels are going
07:17to come down.
07:18Your digestion is going to get better.
07:20You're going to prevent heart disease, prevent clogging within those arteries.
07:25It's going to lower triglycerides.
07:28Your liver is going to function better.
07:30So many things are going to happen that's positive in your body.
07:35I challenge you.
07:37So I wish you only good health.
07:40So eat your oatmeal and start it immediately so you can reap those health benefits.
