It's a Cowboys victory Monday, and to talk about all the news from yesterday game, the K&C Masterpiece were joined by Cowboys EVP and director of player personnel Stephen Jones. They discuss what went into the whooping of the Browns yesterday, how Dak's deal came together as well as some more particulars of the structure of the contract, when tight end Jake Ferguson might return this season, and more!

00:00I have to imagine that y'all are flying real high right now as well.
00:19I was curious, is it excitement, relief?
00:23Like what goes into your feelings once the DAC deal gets done?
00:28I think a little bit of everything.
00:33We understand these things take time when you're doing deals like this.
00:38I think our players understand at the end of the day, this isn't about costing us bottom
00:45line money on the business.
00:47This is us dividing up the salary cap.
00:50Whether it's two of our favorite CD or DAC, it's not anything personal.
00:56It's just a business and certainly we're doing everything we can to divide this thing
01:02up in the best way to put the best team together, put great players around DAC and CD.
01:07But at the end of the day, their goal too is to extract their value and what they're
01:13worth.
01:14They're both team guys.
01:16I know all of them think they could have asked for more, done better where they started.
01:22It's been easy in this league for the next guy up to always get more.
01:27It's been easy for CD to ask for more than Jefferson.
01:32Certainly DAC had a good argument that if he went to free agency, no telling where that
01:38number would end up.
01:39It feels like at the end of the day, and I certainly know he feels that way, he could
01:45have gotten more if he wanted to go be a free agent.
01:47But DAC wants to be a Dallas Cowboy, we want him to be the leader of this team and be the
01:52quarterback of this team and we were able to get that accomplished and then on top of
01:56all that, go on the road and win a big, big game there in Cleveland.
