00:00Zeke, four yards of carry, definitely an improvement over the last two years where he was in the
00:20threes.
00:21Did he even exceed your expectations in week one so far?
00:26Absolutely, he did, because the one you haven't mentioned, and that is his pass protection.
00:34One of the reasons that Dak was able to be as effective as he was, especially in that
00:39first half, was Zeke's protection.
00:42It was outstanding.
00:45And I mean, it was meaningful.
00:46He needed to make those blocks.
00:48Like I'm saying, those guys were formidable coming on that front for Cleveland.
00:54And Zeke did an amazing job.
00:57He graded out in that area as well as anybody we've ever had.
01:02Jerry, you guys split the workload in the snaps roughly 50-50 between Zeke and Rico
01:08Dowdell.
01:09Is that kind of the ideal spot for you moving forward?
01:11You think just them kind of having an even split?
01:14I don't know.
01:16We'll see how it goes.
01:21Either are capable of playing more.
01:24Let's put it like that.
01:25And I don't know that that has design to it, because it has, first of all, to the numbers
01:31of plays.
01:32But I want to emphasize the value of the work that's going on and the reps that are going
01:39on with that pass protection for Dak.
01:43And that'll show up in some of those big plays in the passing game, too.
01:49I think anybody will tell you that there are some pretty effective running backs that will
01:57run with the ball and be pretty effective doing it.
02:01And that's not to diminish that skill at all.
02:05But the nut-cutting comes when you step up there and ask, how about the pass protection?
02:11Because you've got to have it today.
02:12If you're going to get your guys out in the routes, your receivers, tight ends or receivers
02:18or backs out of the backfield, then, boy, you better have you some protection from one
02:22of those backs that you're keeping in.
02:33Well, I don't see it.
02:34Any conditioning issues or any rust at all.
02:38It's been anticipated because they'd done a lot of work together before we got to training
02:45camp.
02:46And anybody that knows Lamb knows he's going to have himself ready.
02:52And so, again, I don't think we missed a lick.
