00:00Jason explained it to me, you know, part of his reasoning for not wanting you to to speak to said
00:07person you're playing is because we really want to embody the energy of what they were going
00:11through on that particular day. And so I remember speaking with Garrett and against Jason's...
00:19But you met at an event, didn't you?
00:22Yeah, no, no, this was an accident. You were presenting...
00:24No, no, I spoke to him first. Yeah.
00:27I was trying to contact him personally, directly.
00:31But Garrett was going through... Garrett was going through similar things that I find myself
00:36going through in my career. So it was kind of easy to relate to that fish out of water
00:41feeling to being the first of something, you know what I mean? And to kind of really,
00:46you know, to have a select group of people that are skilled at a particular thing,
00:53and you feel like you're coming in with your own brand of whatever, and you don't know how
00:57it fits into this puzzle. And so, you know, with the backdrop of, you know, post civil rights and
01:03all those things, Garrett was going through a lot more than just having to perform. And so I wanted
01:08to make sure that that's actually what Garrett was feeling. And Jason was spot on with his writing.
01:16And so it made a lot of sense for me. And against Jason's will, I'm very grateful that I did what I
01:21had to do.
