Transcript
00:00Good morning, it's Steph at the Doncaster Free Press and it's Thursday September the 5th
00:05just bringing you some of our headlines this morning. First of all, an exciting day, the
00:11prestigious Tour of Britain cycle race is due to come to Doncaster today. You can find
00:17all the details that you need to know, the route, where you can watch, traffic management,
00:22that sort of thing. There is a dedicated story on the website today so you can find out exactly
00:28what you need to know when the cyclists come to the city today. It's quite a spectacle
00:34if you've not seen it before, it's definitely worth taking time out of your day to go and
00:38have a look. Then also, yesterday I put a story out about a planning application which
00:47has been submitted for a 43 acre development at junction 3 on the M18 at Doncaster. The
00:55planning application relates to a site at Roslington actually and there is a potential
00:59there to deliver around 450 jobs so that's great news for the city. So hopefully that
01:07will go through planning and there won't be any problems with that. Obviously we'll
01:11keep you updated on that story as and when it develops. Let's just take a look at what
01:17else we've got. And then yesterday the police carried out another one of their operations,
01:23Duxford, actually has been ongoing for quite some time and has been quite successful. Yesterday
01:29proved to be just as successful, 17 people were arrested in total. The last update we
01:35did probably more has happened in the last 12 hours or so. Arrests included offences
01:42of firearms, vehicle theft, drug offences, a number of nasty weapons, a crossbow, axe,
01:51gun, were all seized by police. So you can read all about that this morning as well on
01:56the website. Obviously we'll keep you updated on Facebook and X but keep an eye out on www.doncasterfreepress.co.uk
02:05where we'll put everything that happens today and I hope you have a great Thursday.
