00:00The Department of Social Welfare and Development has announced that they will continue to meet the needs of our countrymen in the face of the storm.
00:10In fact, more than 100 billion pesos of humanitarian assistance has been given to them by Ryan Lasigas in Centro ng Balita Live.
00:20Angelic, along with the continuous rain, is also the continuation of the increasing number of affected families after the intense storm that hit Panangabagat.
00:33According to the data of Angelic of DSWD, more than 2 million individuals have been affected by the recent storm.
00:41The Department of Social Welfare and Development announced that they are on top of the situation due to the effects of the intense storm in the whole country.
00:52This is because of the continuous increase in the number of affected individuals.
00:56According to the latest data of Angelic of DSWD, more than 2.1 million individuals were affected by the storm.
01:04This is equivalent to more than 500,000 families from more than 2,000 affected barangays.
01:10These are Angelic from NCR, Ilocos Region, Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon, Calabarzon, Bicol Region, Western Visayas, and Eastern Visayas.
01:20According to the data, more than 41,000 individuals are still in evacuation centers.
01:27According to DSWD Spokesperson Assistant Secretary Irene Dumlao, they are distributing more than 200,000 family food packs to various local governments.
01:38According to Angelic of DSWD, they will provide 102 billion humanitarian assistance.
01:44DSWD also assured that they have enough funds.
01:47Even though the number of people in need is increasing, there will be another storm coming.
01:55So if we need family food packs to be distributed in areas that will be affected by the incoming weather disturbances,
02:05DSWD is ready to augment the resources of the local government units.
02:09Aside from the national stockpile of the department, as I mentioned earlier, we have existing framework agreements with private retailers and distributors.
02:17So anytime there is a massive disaster, we could immediately draw down from this framework agreement.
02:24As of now, Angelic, DSWD still has more than 134 million pesos of standby funds.
02:30Aside from this, there are more than 1,000 family food packs that are on standby.
02:34DSWD also requested replenishment for their quick response fund that is worth 875 million pesos.
02:44Now if in case we need additional assistance,
02:47DSWD has other programs such as Cash for Work or Emergency Cash Transfer
02:53where we can provide financial assistance for the affected families.
03:01Angelic, DSWD also reminded the local government units that they should not rely on politics
03:07to distribute the family food packs.
03:11I would like to assure the public that it is very important to assure our countrymen
03:16that the department does not stop.
03:19We are always ready.
03:21We are always doing the necessary programs and projects to help our countrymen.
03:27This is the proof that DSWD will continue to distribute fast and efficiently.
03:34Angelic, aside from DSWD, DSUD is also now moving to give reminders to the families who lost their homes.
03:45Before, Angelic was told by DSUD that they are only providing totally damaged financial assistance.
03:53Now, the partially damaged houses will be counted as receiving financial assistance.
04:00Another good news, Angelic, is that DSUD has also doubled the amount received.
04:05Before, Angelic received only 15,000 pesos for the totally damaged houses.
04:11Now, it is increased to 30,000 pesos.
04:15While the partially damaged houses will receive 10,000 pesos of financial assistance.
04:21While the partially damaged houses will receive 10,000 pesos of financial assistance.
04:25DSUD has also updated the requirements for those who lost their homes.
04:31For now, Angelic, DSUD has counted 603 houses in the country that are partially damaged
04:39while 50 are totally damaged.
04:43Okay, Ryan, how can DSUD know that the money they are giving for the construction of the houses
04:53is really going there and will not be spent on other things?
05:02Well, Angelic, what DSUD is saying is that they are connecting local government units
05:08in each region to monitor the financial assistance they are giving
05:14that will definitely go there for example, to buy iron or other needs
05:20so that they can build their damaged houses.
05:24The requirements that they are asking for are only included there, Angelic,
05:28the so-called assessment and the forms that they need to submit
05:33and the forms that should be filled out for the damaged houses.
05:36And DSUD has assured, Angelic, that within a span of two days, one or two days,
05:42the financial assistance that the victims of calamity need will be distributed immediately.
05:50Okay, thank you very much, Ryan Lesigas.
