00:00It is expected that the delivery of medical services to our countrymen will be faster,
00:05particularly in remote areas of the country.
00:09This is with the help of distributing more than 120 ambulances
00:14under the leadership of President Ferdinand R. Marquez, Jr.
00:17Let's take a look at the Central News of Kenneth Paciente.
00:22Faster access to healthcare.
00:25That is the target of the government to give to the LGUs
00:28along with the distribution of patient transport vehicles
00:31led by President Ferdinand R. Marquez, Jr.
00:35129 ambulances were turned over to different LGUs in Calabarzon, Bicol Region,
00:42Central Luzon, Cordillera, and Cagayan Valley
00:44that are part of the Medical Transport Vehicle Donation Program of PCSO.
00:49According to the President,
00:50these ambulances are a big deal in providing medical attention,
00:54especially in remote and underserved areas of the country,
00:57especially in times of epidemics.
00:59We will be giving these PTVs to provincial, city, and municipal governments
01:05to help ensure that their constituencies will be given the chance to pull through
01:10whenever they need these assets for the rescue,
01:18for the healthcare of those who have become victims to these natural calamities.
01:25These vehicles are vital resources to support our heroes in the medical field,
01:30our first responders.
01:32The Executive Board of PCSO decided to continue to work
01:36to strengthen this type of initiative
01:39that is a big part in improving the quality of the healthcare system in the country.
01:44At the same time, it also urged the LGUs
01:46to properly use the ambulances in giving priority
01:50to the interests of their constituents.
01:52I am confident that we can build a new Philippines
01:56where no Filipino will be left behind,
01:58be it in healthcare or in any other opportunity to live,
02:02a meaningful, prosperous, and healthy life.
02:05It is what our people need.
02:07It is what Filipinos truly deserve.
02:10The Executive Board of PCSO also assured
02:12that the government's strengthening system is now complete.
02:14It is determined that everyone will be given equal treatment,
02:18especially in providing the needs of each community.
02:21Because I know the system.
02:24When I was a governor,
02:27if you are strong, you can get an ambulance.
02:30If you are not strong, you will be on the list.
02:35That is why I believe that our healthcare system
02:40should not be politicized.
02:43That is why I believe that the big change in this
02:50is that you will no longer go to PCSO, or to me, or to your governor,
02:55or to your friend, or to your congressman,
03:00to ask for an ambulance.
03:03Just wait for an ambulance to come to you.
03:08A vehicle that is fully equipped with medical essentials
03:11like a stretcher, oxygen tank, blood pressure monitor, and wheelchair
03:15is worth Php 2.1 million.
03:18Currently, the procurement process is being carried out
03:22for more than 1,000 ambulances worth Php 2.2 billion.
03:27That is to ensure that every LGU in the country will have it.
