00:00Nurse by profession, but because he's in love with photography,

00:04Jamin Lim has decided to build his own photo and video studio and services.

00:12Let's find out his business story here in Negosyo Tayo.

00:17Hi guys, I'm Jamin Lim. You can call me Jam.

00:19We offer photography, videography, glam bot 360, and mirror booth services.

00:30I don't have a background in photography. I'm a nurse by profession.

00:38Then I became a sideline photographer and now I'm a full-time photographer.

00:44I started way back in 2010. I just wanted to have a good shot of my family.

00:51So I started to buy a camera, the most basic DSLR camera.

00:57Then I started taking photos of my family.

01:01Eventually, I liked it. Then we became a business.

01:05Since we're already in the photo and video industry,

01:09I have co-partners, Mark and Codi.

01:12We decided to put up our own studio.

01:16So we can cater to those who want to do photoshoots, videoshoots,

01:20and those who want to do anything related to the studio.

01:23My mom was surprised.

01:25Because I'm a nursing graduate, a registered nurse.

01:29Then I took up two master's degrees.

01:32She said, why are you taking photos now?

01:35I taught you nursing. Why didn't you apply to the hospital?

01:41But I really liked photography. It became our passion.

01:45It's fun when you make your clients smile.

01:49Especially when they see your work, your pictures, your videos.

01:54It's a big thing for me. It fulfills my goals and dreams.

02:01I told my wife that I want to leave a legacy, especially to my team.

02:06We make more people happy.

02:08Especially when they like our service,

02:11our photos and videos.

02:13It also leaves a lasting memory for our clients.

02:18I think the biggest challenge for our business is the pandemic.

02:22We were the first to close our business.

02:26Almost all of our events during the pandemic in March were canceled.

02:32But after the pandemic, our events and bookings came back.

02:37Then it continued.

02:39Our challenge as a studio owner or business owner

02:43is to find clients.

02:46In the photo and video industry, there's a lot of competition.

02:51It's a tough competition.

02:53It depends on how you package yourself,

02:55how you build your brand,

02:57and how you build a long-lasting partnership.

02:59If we're not good enough,

03:01we have to work hard.

03:03Then eventually, we will develop the skills.

03:06Attitude is hard to change.

03:10But skills are easy to learn.

03:14Attitude is number one for me.

03:16Character, how they deal with people,

03:18how they deal with our clients,

03:20how they respond,

03:22how they work with the team,

03:24how they work ethics.

03:26That's what I look for in my team.

03:39I believe that every business can learn.

03:42So, let's do business!
