00:00Almost 150 workers were rescued in an illegal mining operation in Valenzuela City.

00:06Aside from the underpaid, the workers are being harassed because the warehouse is being padlocked.

00:21You know Audrey, the news is shocking because more than 150 workers from Mindanao were rescued.

00:31But first, they found out that they will enter an illegal cigarette factory.

00:38Illegal cigarette boxes were confiscated by the Bureau of Internal Revenue and CIDG San Rafael Bulacana.

00:47The smugglers were seen in the dark and sugary factory.

00:52This is not registered at all.

00:54That's why this operation is illegal and hidden.

00:59Because when a cigarette is manufactured, it needs to be registered.

01:04Even the machines and the brands that are registered.

01:07Here, everything we saw is not registered and is illegal to operate.

01:12Most of the brands that were placed in the boxes were imported.

01:16But the parroquians don't know that the Peking Brands are only operating in the Philippines.

01:22Some of the smugglers don't have B.I.R. stamps.

01:25And if they do, they are smugglers.

01:29According to the B.I.R., the factory in San Rafael Bulacana produces and sells 750,000 packs a day.

01:39Five warehouses in Valenzuela were also attacked by the authorities.

01:42Here, illegal cigarettes are smuggled illegally in San Rafael Bulacana.

01:47But only three of the warehouses were profited.

01:50The CIDG and B.I.R. arrested more than 150 employees.

01:56Almost all of them are Filipino employees from Mindanao.

02:00Four of them are Chinese.

02:03They were promised construction work and a bus driver.

02:09They were smuggled illegally.

02:12Their salary is underpaid, up to 500 pesos a day.

02:20We sleep and eat for free.

02:23In Mindanao, it's only 250 pesos a day.

02:29According to them, the factory in San Rafael Bulacana is always on alert.

02:39We found out that the three Chinese are the drivers of those trucks.

02:44They have a Philippine driver's license.

02:48We are investigating them because they have a local address.

02:52The tax liabilities of the owner of the factory, which is currently being searched by the authorities,
