00:00President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. argued that it is important to add maritime laws to protect the territories of the Philippines.

00:10Meanwhile, Punong Hekotibo plans to strengthen cooperation with the cruise tourism industry to promote the tourism of the country.

00:26The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China is appealing to the so-called Chinese Ambassador to the Philippines

00:32to condemn the Philippines' attempt to merge the Panatag-Shoal with the Philippine Maritime Zone.

00:37This is after President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. passed two new laws,

00:42the Philippine Maritime Zones Act and the Philippine Archipelagic Sea Lanes Act.

00:46This is illegal, said China, but this reaction is expected by the Philippines.

00:51It's not unexpected, but we have to define closely.

00:56Many are saying that we have to protect our sovereign rights and our sovereignty.

01:02The new law only protects the rights of the country in the territory it occupies.

01:06It will also strengthen the Illegal Arbitral Award on the South China Sea under UNCLOS.

01:12It serves a purpose that we define closely what those boundaries are.

01:17And that's what we are doing.

01:24that was held in Ocada, Manila yesterday.

01:26The freedom of navigation in the territory of the country is related to the commitment of the Philippines

01:36to show our different world-class destinations.

01:39Through this, the country will be able to attract more cruise lines and tourists

01:44and will contribute to the economy and employment.

01:47Our efforts go beyond improving ports and destinations.

01:50We are also working to preserve the cultural and environmental assets that make us distinctive.

01:58Our goal is to build an industry that benefits everyone.

02:01The cruise lines and its crew members, the local communities,

02:06and the travelers who seek to explore the rich diversity of our cultures.
