00:00Now the full-time whistle has blown at Fir Hill, so we can hear once again from Kierdyn,
00:06he was watching Partick Thistle, Queen's Park.
00:08Well the Partick Thistle fans are screaming out of the ground just now, they were singing
00:14one team in Glasgow, there's only one team in Glasgow, and can we claim it every week?
00:18And that's maybe because they're now on a nine-match unbeaten streak against Queen's
00:23Park, in which they've put 28 goals past them.
00:28Three more came this afternoon, and really this one wasn't in too much doubt, after Harry
00:33Milne headed in on 11 minutes, that was the score at half-time, Queen's Park improved
00:38a wee bit after the interval, but an Aidan Fitzpatrick pile-driver shot from the edge
00:43of the area took a wicked deflection past Jack Wells just after 70 minutes, that was
00:492-0, and that was pretty much done and dusted.
00:51The icing on the cake came just a few minutes before the end, a beautiful side-footed volley
00:58from the edge of the area from substitute Xander McKenzie.
01:02Partick Thistle and their fans enjoying themselves in the glorious West End sunshine, Partick
01:07Thistle 3, Queen's Park 0.
01:10Thanks so much Kerry, and just to update you folks, there's been a goal at Starters Park,
01:14Wraith Rovers 0, Livingston 1, Brandon there with a goal right at the end, and at East
01:21End Park it's still done, Firmland 1, Leaders United 1.
01:25Full-time coming up from Gullysingh now, Hamilton against Airdrie, we can put this
01:29match firmly to bed now Gully.
01:32Yes, beds, plenty of beds, thanks David, yes, Hamilton 2, Airdrie 2, it was the Lanarkshire
01:37derby which provided all the pre-match atmosphere but failed to deliver on the pitch in the
01:40first half before coming to life in the second period with four goals.
01:44The Diamonds had lost their last three and conceded 13 in the process with Aki's getting
01:48their first Scottish Championship win last week over Dunfermline.
01:51There was early chances for John Rankinside with Jamie Berjonis and Oli Shaw going close
01:55before Airdrie responded up the other end with Lewis McGratton's snapshot put out for
01:59a corner.
02:00The first half void of any real quality then produced on all fronts come the second period
02:04with Aki's, Oli Shaw finding the net on 47 minutes after a mix-up in the Airdrie defence
02:09before Shaw delivered a double on 77 minutes.
02:12Rhys McCabe then called for reinforcements as Aaron Reid came off the bench and placed
02:15for Lewis McGratton on 80 minutes, and on his first touch produced a sublime header
02:21leaving Charlie Aubinson with no chance to put the Diamonds right back in contention
02:24of at least a point.
02:25Seven minutes later Murray Aitken yet another substitute peeled away in the box with his
02:30initial effort saved, he followed up to rifle home the equaliser.
02:33Hamilton did go in search of a winner and did go close however Airdrie will feel the
02:37better of both sides and encouraged by their response after falling behind.
02:41It's full time here at New Douglas Park as Hamilton 2, Airdrie 2.
02:45Thanks Gully, that is indeed encouraging for Airdrie in the back of a couple of disappointing
02:48defeats.
02:49Yeah I think going into the game they would have been looking at trying to get three points
02:53but just the way the game has gone, finding themselves two goals down against Hamilton,
03:00getting back so late on and getting those two goals, sometimes they're the kind of games
03:05that you really need to just breathe some energy into your team and for Airdrie they've
03:11had a really hard time recently being in the back of a few really tough defeats and sometimes
03:18you just need that wee opportunity to try and lift your players in the dressing room
03:22and this could be the game that does just that.
03:24Aye because they lost 5-0 to Ayr and 6-1 to Dundee in the League Cup.
03:28Yeah they had so again it's a good reaction, Ruth McKay will be delighted that he's got
03:34something from the game and the hope they can build on that going forward.
03:37I mentioned there there had been a goal at Starrs Park in the match between Wraith and
03:41Livingston still playing there, let's hear once again from Brian.
03:45Full time whistle has just gone David, it's finished Wraith Rovers 0-0, Livingston 1-1,
03:50a snatch and grab here from the visitors, the goal coming in the 90th minute, it had
03:56been complete dominance by Wraith Rovers up until that point but a long ball played into
04:00the Wraith Rovers box, knocked down into the path of Jamie Brandon just around 20 yards
04:06from goal and he fired a low shot to Kevin Dabrowski's right hand side, the goalkeeper
04:12managed to get his hand to the ball but could only push it into the bottom corner.
04:17Up until that point it had been all Wraith Rovers, Lewis Gibson with a chance blocked
04:22by the loving goalkeeper Jerome Pryor and then again Pryor called into action, Liam
04:27Dick with a shot from 20 yards, a real thunderbolt from 20 yards the keeper though saving, but
04:33the closest Wraith came with 18 minutes left, they play a cross deep to the back post, Lewis
04:38Bond with a header over the goalkeeper, the ball though coming back off the underside
04:43of the crossbar and then cleared away by the living defence and then that sucker punch
04:48in the 90th minute with Jamie Brandon with his first goal of the season. Last season's
04:53Premiership relegation side, a win, they probably do need this win to try and push them up towards
04:59the top end of the table, Wraith not only need a win, they need a manager, it finished
05:04Wraith Rovers 0, Livingston 1.
05:06Aye, contrasting fortunes there, Cammie, Livingston 8 points from 4 games, that's not a bad start
05:10to life in the Championship.
05:12Yeah, no they'll be delighted in that, that's a big win going to Kirkcaldy and getting that
05:16victory, especially late on in a game, it's always probably the best way to win a game
05:20is to get that late goal and the feeling in the changing room can continue so David Martindale
05:25will be hoping that but flip it to the other side, Wraith as I said, just everything that
05:29could happen is going against them at the moment, they really need to sort out the managerial
05:33situation because they're losing a huge amount of ground in the Championship so far.
05:37Full time at Capelo now in that thrilling game between Morton and Falkirk, let's have
05:42the full time report from Chick.
05:44Yeah, full time, what a game it was, Morton 2, Falkirk 3 and the Falkirk players celebrate
05:51in front of their fans, Gary, a thousand, in excess of a thousand there, fabulous travelling
05:57support through to Greenock this afternoon and they're dancing and celebrating because
06:02what a victory they had, what a game, Morton 2-0 ahead, wonderful Ali Crawford free kick,
06:08delivering for Morgan boys to put Morton ahead and then another Crawford free kick from the
06:12same spot, same trajectory and Baird got on the end of it, Jack Baird to make it 2-0 to
06:19Morton, they were on fire at that time but I tell you there's something about this Falkirk
06:23team, they got back into it, it was a Spencer penalty, a Brad Spencer penalty to make it
06:282-1 and then a quite fabulously engineered goal, wonderful run by Ethan Ross down the
06:33left hand side, the cutest of passes into Tate and Tate in turn just passed it into
06:39the Morton goal beyond Gary Woods, two each at half time, it ebbed and flowed in the second
06:45half, wonderful entertainment but eventually it was Alfie Aggeman with the winner after
06:5175 minutes, danced along the 18 yard box and then struck a low right foot shot beyond Gary
06:56Woods and it's Falkirk who are on fire at the top of the league tonight, Morton will
07:01be disappointed but they contributed magnificently to this as 90 minutes plus of entertainment,
07:08wonderful football match at the tail of the bank, finished, Morton 2 Falkirk 3.
07:13Thanks Nick, still playing in Perth in the Premiership match involving St Johnson and
07:17Motherwell but Jane has news of a late goal.
07:19Yeah we're still playing here, we're into the final minutes of injury time and Motherwell
07:24have just gone ahead in dramatic fashion, the ball it came in from the corner, well
07:28taken by Lennon Miller, I think it was played in across the face of goal, back in across
07:33the face of goal by Dan Casey and Moses popped up, he came on as a substitute, he has popped
07:38up with what probably is a late late winner from a Motherwell point of view, heartbreak
07:43for St Johnson but if you're a Motherwell fan you're happy, it's 2-1 to the visitors.
07:48Thanks very much Jane, we'll head to Dundee now, full time at Dens between the Dark Blues
07:52and the Buddies Dundee, St Mirren, Tyrone.
08:22St Mirren on the end of a ball over the top, he drove into the box before drilling a neat
08:26low shot into the net, but Dundee levelled on the half hour, former St Main capitalising
08:32on a mistake by Richard Taylor to dink the ball into the net, however this was end-to-end
08:38stuff and Saints regained the lead in 36 minutes, and wait until you see this finish from Mikel
08:43Mandren, a wonderful 25-yard left foot half-volley restoring the visitors' advantage, Dundee
08:50they had the first chance of the second half, Antonio Patalas headed just wide from five
08:56yards out, but the home side weren't to be denied and they did level on 53 minutes, great
09:01set-up play by Lyle Cameron, who slipped a lovely reverse ball through to Ziad Larkesh
09:05and he coolly slotted it into the net for 2-2, a really nice passage of build-up play
09:10for that one, they almost scored again, more lovely build-up play which ended with Simon
09:14Murray firing a powerful shot which was well saved by Ellery Balcombe, Dundee continue
09:20to push forward, looking for a winner with Murray and Main passing up further, excellent
09:25chances, however that was that at Dense Park, we're in front of 5,779 entertained fans,
09:33it's finished, Dundee 2, St Mirren 2.
09:36Now folks, had a wee look at the stats just to, because it seemed an evenly poised game
09:41and had a wee look at the stats, possession-wise Dundee 50.3, St Mirren 49.7, shots 14 apiece
09:47so you know, you kind of grumble at a point apiece there, can't you?
09:50No, there was very clear spells in the game where Dundee were in top, certainly in the
09:54second half, Dundee were in top, they had a couple of opportunities, certainly the one
09:58from Simon Murray is one that I'm sure he'll be thinking back to tonight, they didn't take
10:03it and then the latter spell in the game, St Mirren were putting a lot of pressure on
10:08Dundee, they were defending really deep in their own half and at that point you kind
10:12of felt that if anybody was going to score it was going to be St Mirren, so I think across
10:17the piece you would say that both teams would be pleased with the point.
10:21All square then at Dense, a point apiece for Dundee and St Mirren, but what happened in
10:26the end in Perth, MacDermid Park, St Johnson against Motherwell Jane?
10:32Yeah it finished, St Johnson 1, Motherwell 2 and I have to say, late drama here, Motherwell
10:37leaving it very, very late, it looked like this one was heading for a draw but up hop
10:42Moses with a goal well into, I think there was only about a minute left of added time
10:48and he scored a late winner, this game looked finely poised, Motherwell after their early
10:54dominance, it looked like they were maybe going to go on to win this one after taking
10:58an early lead but St Johnson, all credit to him, they got back into this one, Motherwell
11:02scored early on, it was a costly error, a goalkeeping error from Brosson, clear you
11:08could say he tried to get onto the end of the ball and come in from the corner kick
11:13but he could only punch it, Dan Casey had got ahead to it and Motherwell were ahead.
11:18But in the second half, in fairness to Craig Levine, he rung the changes and Motherwell
11:23they started really brightly but St Johnson, those substitutions certainly had the desired
11:28effect and great play from substitute Mackenzie Kirk, he set up Benji Kimpioke who finished
11:35off brilliantly from the angle, at that time either team could have gone on to win it,
11:40both created chances, they were both playing with intent, Dan Casey forced two brilliant
11:44saves from Brosson, clear in the St Johnson goal and then came that late winner, the corner
11:50in brilliantly taken by the corner in from Lennon Miller, it was headed back into the
11:56goal and then Moses just sneaked in the ball crossing the line to give Motherwell all three
12:02points, a sore one for St Johnson, Motherwell will leave Perth very very happy, 2-1 to the
12:07visitors. Thanks very much Jane Lewis, I'm Mike Dermott, time now folks for today's classified

15:50Dawn's time to reveal the tables in the...
15:54Oh, I think we'll go to the Premiership first, that's better.
15:57Yeah, there we go. Celtic, Aberdeen and Rangers yet to play.
16:01Motherwell up to fourth with that late win over St Johnson.
16:04Congratulations to them.
16:06Dundee in fifth drew 1-1 with St Mirren today at the bottom of the table.
16:11The two bottom sides, Kilmarnock and Hibs, meet at Rugby Park.
16:14Hearts entertain Dundee United tomorrow.
16:18Let's have a look at the Championship.
16:20Interesting stuff at the top there, Air United.
16:22A point clear of Falkirk.
16:23Air United held by bottom club Dunfermline Athletic to 1-1 draw at East End Park today.
16:28Falkirk coming back from two down to beat Morton 3-2.
16:32So there's just a point of a deficit between those sides at the top.
16:35Falkirk go with a game in hand.
16:37Livingstone up to third with a win over Wraith Rovers today.
16:42A late goal sealing three points for them there.
16:45So at the bottom, Dunfermline, rock bottom on one point, a couple behind Wraith Rovers.
16:53In League 1, Celtic Hearts top of the table.
16:56They were held to a draw by Dumbarton today.
16:58They're levelling points with Stenish Murad as a resounding win in their game.
17:02At the foot of the table, Arbroath, one point behind Cove Rangers.
17:09Finally, we'll have a look at League 2.
17:10Peterhead the table toppers.
17:11They're a point ahead of East Fife at the foot of the table.
17:15It's a level pegging between Stranraer and Forfar Athletic.
17:22So there we go.
17:24Interesting stuff in the tables today.
17:26A chance, as we mentioned earlier on, for Aberdeen to go to the top.
17:30All they need is a point.
17:32Yeah, I think they'll be focusing on three points.
17:35I think their performances so far this season, you would have the opinion that they would go on
17:43to Dingwall and get three points.
17:45Ross County will have other ideas.
17:48But so far, we've seen a really strong Aberdeen side.
17:51Players who probably weren't performing last season, all of a sudden it's a new manager,
17:56maybe a different style of play, and they've really adjusted extremely well.
18:01Tell you what, folks, our first international break of the new season is almost upon us.
18:05Time to put Euro 2024 behind us and look forward to the Nations League.
18:09Scotland have joined the A-League, the top tier of the competition.
18:14Their group includes Croatia, Portugal and Poland.
18:18It all kicks off for the Scots at Hampden on Thursday when they welcome the Poles.
18:22Julie, is it a new era for Scotland?
18:25I hope so.
18:26I hope it's the new norm.
18:27I hope that we continue to compete with the top sides.
18:32We want to continue to go to championships.
18:35We want it to be expected that that's the type of teams that we're going to be up against,
18:40and that we're capable, and you hope that the players there that have been selected...
18:45There's not a lot of fresh blood being brought in.
18:47There's a wee, not really a transfusion, but you've got Max Johnson,
18:51you've got Ben Doak who missed out on the Euros through injury.
18:54Tommy Conway's in there and Ryan Gold is back from the wilderness.
18:59I think what we can see is experienced players there who you need at that level.
19:06Players who have already been to tournaments and can add that to experience to the squad,
19:11but there's also a sprinkling, as you said, of youth who'll be desperate to get their opportunity.
19:17I think that the fact that they've been performing well for their club,
19:21they deserve to be there.
19:23It'll be very good for them to be in and around those experienced players.
19:27Can you really make wholesale changes, even if you wanted to?
19:30Because it's not a friendly, it's the Nations League and it does count for something.
19:33There is a pathway there to the World Cup.
19:36Yeah, absolutely.
19:36And again, we know Steve Clarke, you weren't expecting wholesale changes.
19:39It's nice to see a little bit of a freshness in there.
19:42Obviously Ben Doak, hopefully he's moved to Middlesbrough, give him game time as well.
19:46So there's a number of faces in there.
19:49Max Johnston, another young kid that hopefully is one for the future.
19:53So yeah, you're hoping we can hit the ground running.
19:55It's going to be difficult because as you say,
19:56the teams we're facing in this A-League are very strong,
20:00but we want to try and get off to a good start after the sort of negativity of the summer.
20:05I've forgotten about that already.
20:08Ryan Gould, he's in the squad.
20:09I think it's about 10 years since he was last in the squad.
20:11He's never been capped.
20:12Steve Clarke says he brings something a wee bit different to the team.
20:16Here he is.
20:1710 years ago, scoring for Dundee United.
20:19Yeah, and you can see he's kind of linked up playing this goal with really familiar faces.
20:25And it's great to see that they've played together.
20:28They're players who know each other really well.
20:30And Andy Robertson just coming into the picture.
20:34And I think for any youngster, it just shows you,
20:39you'll go through difficult spells where you're probably not in the national manager's mind.
20:45But if you work extremely hard, there's still going to be that opportunity.
20:48And it was probably unfortunate not to be capped before.
20:53But he'll certainly be hoping that he comes into the squad,
20:56makes an impact when they're training,
20:58and puts himself in the position where he could possibly be selected for the start of the league.
21:04There wasn't a young Cammy Bell in that Dundee United team at the time, was there?
21:07She'd moved on.
21:09But that was a good Dundee United side.
21:12The three of them, well, two of them already established internationals,
21:15as you see Armstrong and Captain Robertson.
21:17But Gould has taken his time.
21:1928 now.
21:20Yeah, he's went in a different direction as well.
21:21He's played in a number of countries.
21:24He came back to Scotland for a short spell at Hibs,
21:26but it didn't really work out and he's moved on.
21:28But I think he's found real good form.
21:30And it's great to see him involved.
21:32And it's good to see what he'll bring to the Scotland squad as well.
21:36Tough game, though, against Poland and then Portugal.
21:38Jules, optimistic?
21:39Absolutely.
21:40They're going to be extremely tough games.
21:42I think we'll need to make sure that we're on our game.
21:47Absolutely.
21:48Every single time we go out,
21:50because when you are playing against these top sides,
21:53you need to be firing.
21:54I think we'll be refreshed after the break, after the Euros.
21:58So, hope so.
22:00I'm afraid that's it from us for this week.
22:02No show next week, as it's an international break.
22:05But don't forget the highlight shows tonight with Tomo
22:08and tomorrow with Jonathan.
22:10The SWPL show with Jane on Monday.
22:12Thanks to Julie Fleeting and Cammy Bell and the team off screen.
22:15Most of all, as ever, to you for watching.
22:17Take care and please do come back in a fortnight.
22:20Good night.
22:21Take care.
