00:00from Palmar FC against Copenhagen. Lots to look forward to, but right now we can
00:05look forward to hearing from Kerridan again. Rangers against Ross County.
00:10Rangers 6, Ross County 0. And this final, I say final goal, Rangers maybe will get more.
00:16We've played 90 minutes, this goal sums up Ross County's afternoon. One defender
00:20played it against the other, it fell to Danilo who had the simplest of tasks to
00:25poke the ball home. Ross County have been an absolute shambles really this
00:29afternoon. Rangers have been rampant, 6-0 the lead. Thanks so much Shirky, I think that'll be that
00:35pretty much wrapped up eh? 6-0 but it's a pretty dismal result for Ross County isn't it?
00:42It is yeah, and I think they needed a big performance whether they were ever going
00:46to get a result or not, it'd be a big ask, but they needed a big performance after
00:51their defeat last week. They haven't got it, I think, when you go a goal down so
00:57early on in the game, it's really difficult to try and get yourself back in.
01:01Plans go out the window don't they? They do and you've probably worked all week on the shape of the
01:05players and the shape of the team, sorry, and how they're going to play and what
01:10the game plan will be. I think they've come up against a different Rangers
01:13than what we've seen this season certainly, and they've upped the game,
01:17they've had a different tempo, the movement off the ball's been much better
01:21and even the players who have come in off the bench have added to the game
01:26as well, so really disappointing afternoon for Ross County, one they'll be
01:30hoping to put to the back of their minds and try and get on with things next week.
01:34We move on folks to the Championship Livingston against Morton, we can hear
01:38from Gulley, is that full-time Gulley? Yes David, full-time here in West Lothian,
01:43it'll feel like two points dropped for David Martindale's side who've squandered a
01:46flurry of chances in the second half to add to their opener just after the break.
01:50After Morton's defence was finally breached this season, the opening period
01:54saw an early Stephen Kelly effort go wide to the left-hand post before Dougie
01:57Emery's side had the ball in the back of the net,
01:59Cammy Ballantyne's shot rightfully ruled for offside on 25 minutes just before
02:04halftime, Teti Yenge laid the ball off for Daniel Finlayson who caused plenty
02:07of problems all afternoon for the Morton defence, he tried to pass the ball into
02:11the goal, Gary Woods was beaten but the away side somehow survived and cleared
02:14the ball off the line. The second half Livingston very much front foot forward,
02:19Scott Pittman latched on to a Daniel Finlayson cross to slot it past Gary
02:23Woods and the Morton go on 54 minutes, Libby take the lead, Livingston finally
02:27found a flow and looked set to kick on and find a definitive second with
02:31efforts from Stevie May, Teti Yenge again and Andrew Shinnie, Shinnie
02:35cracked the post from 20 yards out. The home side's hard work though was undone
02:39after substitute Liam Sowell brought down Zach Delaney, the referee immediately
02:44pointed to the spot, Owen Moffat stepped up to beat Shamal George, much to David
02:48Martin's dismay, Greenock Morton won, Livingston won, Stevie May, the St. Johnston
02:53Loney put a header wide with the goal gaping, the home fans bemoaned their
02:57finishing in the final third, Robbie Muirhead came on, he had a few chances
03:00late on for Livingston but it's Greenock Morton who surely will be the
03:04happier of both sides as they leave West Lothian with a point, the ball was
03:08saved on the line late on, Libby fans were certain the ball had crossed the
03:12line, the referee deemed otherwise, the full-time whistle here in West Lothian,
03:15Livingston won, Greenock Morton won. And the full-time whistle has been sounded
03:20at Tannerites, Dundee United against St. Johnston and a first win of the league
03:24season for the Tangerines, Jane. Yeah, Dundee United 2, St. Johnston 0. In all
03:30games actually that's now seven games unbeaten for Dundee United, that's
03:33decent form and at home they're going pretty well too, albeit it's early days.
03:38The second half was so much better than this one thankfully and that's when we
03:41got the breakthrough, the goal coming early in that second 45-minute period.
03:45David Bambusky's initial shot was saved, it was palmed away actually by the
03:50goalkeeper but it fell straight into the path of Lucas Stevenson who put Dundee
03:55United ahead. Before that Graham Kerry for St. Johnston had a thunderous hit,
03:59a well saved by Jack Walton and in a bid to try and get back into this game that
04:03St. Johnston in fairness to them did go looking for the equaliser, they came
04:07ever so close, Adama Sidibe hit the side netting but then things started to take
04:11a little turn for the worse for the visitors. St. Johnston found
04:15themselves down to 10 men, Sidibe who'd already received a yellow card and
04:20the first half was then sent off for a second yellow card. Caught him to catch
04:25Will Ferry with a flying arm and the referee took exception to that as I say
04:29second yellow and he was off and then a bizarre goal had put Dundee United 2
04:350 up and just to add further misery from a St. Johnston point of view, St.
04:40Johnston goalkeeper tried to punch the danger away from the the long throw in
04:43from Ross Graham but the ball just kind of cannoned in back across into the face
04:49of goal and Jack Saunders had their own goal for to give Dundee United a 2-0
04:55lead in this one. A bizarre goal, the goalkeeper maybe questionably could have
04:59done better but certainly it's the home side who are lapping up the applause
05:03here from the visitors, from the fans who are just about to leave the
05:08ground and yeah the visitors going home very very unhappy. Craig Levine we saw
05:12there at the end having a word with the referee, he'll be interested to hear what
05:15he has to say to us after this one. Thanks Jane, it's here for Andy Burt now
05:19the match between Falkirk and Partick Thistle in the Championship has reached
05:23its conclusion. Yes Falkirk 2, Partick Thistle 1, a thoroughly entertaining 90
05:31minutes, plenty of incident and Falkirk's perfect start to the Championship
05:35League campaign on their return continues. They are now three from three
05:40of course following up that League Cup victory over Hearts that took them into
05:44the quarterfinals of that competition so a lot of hope and positivity around
05:48these parts and they were helped on their way somewhat in the first half, 25
05:53minutes and Ben Stanwy already on a booking decided to take a tumble in the
05:58Falkirk penalty area, no hint of contact and the referee had seen enough,
06:03brandished the second yellow card, Stanwy was off, Partick Thistle down to
06:08ten men and left with a mountain to climb but took until the second half for
06:12the opening goal and what an opening goal it was, Liam Henderson the Falkirk
06:16defender striding out from the back, let rip from 25 yards and his rocket of a
06:21shot flew into the top corner to put his home side ahead. That meant Partick
06:26Thistle had to come out and try and get themselves back in the game and they did
06:29exactly that, substitute Terry Ablada did well to hold off the challenges and
06:34poke home a finish from 10 yards but again the Falkirk response was
06:39good, they peppered the Thistle goal and when the ball was thrown into the box
06:43eight minutes from time it landed at the feet of Brad Spencer, he composed
06:47himself and did well to keep his shot down and find the back of the net for
06:51the winning goal so another big day for Falkirk and John McGlynn, the feel-good
06:57times are here and they are set to continue, they are second in the league
07:01they're three from three and who knows what the season holds in store for the
07:05Bairns, full-time here at the Falkirk Stadium, Falkirk 2, Partick Thistle 1.
07:09We can find out now if the feel-good times are back at Eastern Road, Brian,
07:12Hibbs, Dundee, full-time? Well it finished to Birmingham 2, Dundee 2, the real winners
07:16here though the 15,710 inside the stadium because they were treated to a
07:21quite magnificent game of football, Dundee in front after just nine minutes, Scott
07:25Tiffany taking advantage of some poor defending by Jordan Obita in particular
07:29at the heart of the Hibbs defence, the ball cleared out to Cameron, he in turn
07:34beat two Hibbs defenders before playing in Tiffany who made no mistake, Hibbs
07:37equalised just before halftime, Martin Boyle with a free kick, a slight
07:42deflection that possibly took it past McCracken, it was on target anyway and
07:46Boyle will certainly be claiming that goal, into the second period Dundee
07:49again on top, Luke McCowan with a free kick hit the outside of the box, David
07:54Gray made three substitutions, one of them being Kieran Bowie, the striker
07:58signed from Fulham recently and he managed to put Hibernian back in front
08:02with his first goal for the club using terrific strength before burring a
08:06left-foot shot beyond McCracken, Hibbs looked as if they were going to be
08:09hanging on the Dundee side though, there's something about them
08:13this year and Simon Murray who led the line quite magnificently the day
08:17managed to equalise with just two minutes left on the clock, burring the
08:21ball beyond Bursick, that wasn't the end of it though because Hibbs coming close
08:24to a winner in stoppage time, Josh Campbell with an effort from 12 yards
08:29that came down off the underside of the bar, magnificent game of football, do not
08:33miss this on SportsScene tonight, here at finish at Easter Road, Hibernian 2, Dundee 2.
08:38Right then we can hear that once again from Kerridan, he has news and
08:42details of Rangers 6-0 win over Ross County. Well Rangers rushed to leave
08:48their temporary home here at Hampden, may not be so pressing after this 6-0 rout
08:53of Ross County who had absolutely no answer for what their hosts threw at
08:57them this afternoon, a double for deadly Dessers, five goals in six games for
09:02Serial, a hug from manager Felix Clement when he came off, two assists and two
09:07goals for the energetic enterprising Rabih Matondo whose speed and movement
09:12caused County all sorts of bother, a fine Tom Lawrence goal when Rangers went from
09:16one end of the pitch to the other, even a goal for the returning Danilo, an
09:19absolute comedy of errors from the County defence, summing up their day and
09:24allowing Rangers to head to Celtic next weekend with a six goal win and a spring
09:29in their step, the only blot on their coffee book, another injury with the
09:33luckless returning defender Leon Baligan taken off before halftime, otherwise lots
09:38for the Rangers manager to be happy about as he ponders how to make this
09:42squad even better in the final week of the transfer window, Rangers 6, Ross
09:47County 0. Well does he need to ponder long if they've got a 6-0 win, a resounding
09:53win, what does he need to do? Still areas that need to be refreshed and improved
09:57Cammy? Yeah no I think there is areas that he certainly will want to bring in more bodies and quality.
10:01Need to get some out the door first? Yeah I think so, I think so and that'll probably
10:05happen this week but again that win today will bring real momentum, belief
10:09and the way they played as well that was a big positive thing, a number of
10:13players, Cerny, Matondo, Tom Lawrence looking really good ahead of the big
10:17game next week against Celtic. Thanks very much Cammy, tell you what folks you can sit

14:18We'll see League 2 later. The Premiership Rangers go to the top of the table,
14:22seven points from three games on the back of a 6-0 thrashing of Ross County
14:26this afternoon. Celtic in second, Aberdeen in third, they are in action tomorrow.
14:31Dundee in fourth on five points, alongside their city rivals Dundee United
14:37on five points, both sides in action today at the foot of the table.
14:40Kilmarnock still to break their points duck, are away to Aberdeen tomorrow.
14:44Hearts and Hibs both on a single point, along with Motherwell.
14:48Let's have a look at the Championship.
14:52100% records for both Air United and Falkirk at the top of the table.
14:56Air United four wins from four, Falkirk three wins from three.
14:59The foot of the table, another defeat for Dunfermline.
15:02They lost 1-0 to Hamilton today. They have still to break their points duck.
15:08Let's have a look at League 1, shall we?
15:11Celtic Hearts and Alloa Athletic, the elderly pace setters,
15:15they're both sides on eight points at the foot of the table.
15:18Cove Rangers a point behind Arbroath.
15:21And finally, we'll have a look at League 2.
15:24Peterhead, the first side in double figures, they're a point ahead of East Fife
15:29at the foot of the table.
15:30Forfar Athletic, the only team on one point in League 2.
15:37Right folks, details of the champions in England today.
15:40Man City at home to Ipswich Town.
15:43Let's have a listen to details of that game coming up now from Sarah.
15:49The champions march on, a 4-1 win for them against the newly promoted Ipswich.
15:53A hat-trick for Holland.
15:55It was always going to be tough for the visitors,
15:56but Sammy Smoddick's put them ahead early on, scoring on the break.
15:59That's their first goal back in the Premier League.
16:02Then it turned, though, in City's favour.
16:04Holland scored from the spot after a Davies challenge on Savino.
16:08Morich in the Ipswich goal, wobbled in City's next two scores.
16:12De Bruyne capitalised with the first,
16:14and then Holland scored his second moments later.
16:17All of those goals came in a frantic first 16 minutes,
16:20and then things quietened down, particularly after the break.
16:23Ipswich were much more organised in defence.
16:25They nearly kept City out in the second half,
16:29until Holland, of course, stepped up, got his hat-trick late on.
16:33It's ended City 4, Ipswich 1.
16:35Thanks very much, that was Seramoel Cairns there.
16:37Let's hear now from Chris Latcham.
16:38He was watching Spurs against Everton.
16:41Yeah, they were top-notch Tottenham.
16:42They've got their first win of the season,
16:44and now crushing Everton with ruthless efficiency.
16:46Yves Bissouma bounced back from his club band to put them in front.
16:49He rattled the ball in off the crossbar
16:51before Jordan Pickford held his hands up for an awful error.
16:54He was caught on the ball as Son scored Spurs' second.
16:57Pickford has just gone and given his gloves and his shirt
17:00to two fans in the crowd to say sorry.
17:02After the break, Cristian Romero made it three
17:04on his 100th club appearance.
17:05Powerheader, and Son rounded out the rout.
17:08Spurs are off and running.
17:09Everton, they've let in seven and are yet to score.
17:11Tottenham 4, Everton 0.
17:13Not a good start for Ange Postakoglu, Julie.
17:16Yeah, I mean, great result to 4-0.
17:18Really convincing.
17:20Not great from an Everton point of view.
17:22They haven't started the season particularly well.
17:25But yeah, really pleasing if you're Ange.
17:28Now, I'll tell you what, Cammie.
17:29I have heard on a very rare occasion of a goalkeeper
17:32with a hat-trick of penalty saves.
17:34But you're very...
17:35Any ideas who I'm referring to?
17:37Ah, many moons ago, David. Many moons ago.
17:39But Haaland scoring a hat-trick of penalties,
17:42that's quite unusual.
17:43Yeah, very rare, and again, normally...
17:45Again, he's a top striker,
17:47so taking three penalties is probably ease for him.
17:50But yeah, very rare, and it just, again, it's...
17:53Do you know what?
17:54I bet you Julie scored a hat-trick of penalties.
17:56Have you, Julie?
17:57No, do you know what?
17:57I don't think we've ever had three penalties in one game.
18:00It's rare in one game, yeah, very rare.
18:02But Erling Haaland just steps up and notches them all.
18:05Also difficult when you're the penalty taker,
18:08because it's kind of mind games after the first,
18:10even more so after the second.
18:13But Haaland looks like he's got that down to a tee.
18:15Well, the Dunfermline players found that out against me.
18:18Now, folks, it's the sixth game Sunday in the SWPL tomorrow.
18:22All the goals from all the games,
18:23and there's usually plenty of them
18:25in the highlights show on Monday.
18:27Three sides on maximum points after three rounds of matches.
18:30Rangers, who top the table on goal difference,
18:32are away to Montrose.
18:33Celtic in second at Aberdeen, and Hibs away to Motherwell.
18:37Julie, with the title decided on goal difference last season,
18:40it looks like every goal could count this season.
18:43Is that why we're seeing such big scorelines,
18:45with the top teams really going for it,
18:47not even thinking about taking the foot off the gas?
18:50I think that's probably one of the reasons
18:54that I also feel that the stronger teams
18:57are getting even better,
18:58but also the gaps, massive.
19:01This is Chloe Craig, just so calm and collected,
19:05slotting that penalty away in what's always
19:08an important fixture, a really important game in the calendar.
19:12But for me, the Rangers, Celtic, City, Hearts,
19:16great to see Hibs up there at the start of the season as well.
19:20They're all going from strength to strength.
19:22They've been able to lure really good players
19:26from roundabout European football to the club.
19:30It's an attractive place to come and play your football,
19:33particularly with the full professional teams.
19:36But yeah, Wilkinson, three goals, I think, in that game,
19:41and Herd have managed to, not replace Rachel Rowe,
19:45who was a massive player for Rangers last season,
19:48but certainly that was really big shoes to fill,
19:51and they look like they've got a goal scorer.
19:52Can you see any of the big guns slipping up tomorrow?
19:56No, I probably don't.
19:58I think that happens very, very rarely.
20:00I think they'll be massively focused at this stage in the season.
20:04I think they'll all want to have that top spot
20:08for as long as possible.
20:09Rangers will want to maintain that,
20:11and I don't see the fixtures that they've got tomorrow.
20:15I couldn't see that happening.
20:16Time warp back to the men's game and the Premiership now,
20:18because we can get some post-match reaction
20:21from one of today's winning managers.
20:22It's Mr. Jim Goodwin,
20:24after Dundee United's win over St. John's.
20:27That's now seven games unbeaten, Jim,
20:30off to a good start,
20:31even though we said pre-match at early days,
20:34but that must give you a lot of pleasure, that start.
20:37Yes, I think what it does is give the group a lot of confidence.
20:41The fact that they can hold their own at this level,
20:45and more, to be honest.
20:47We had a great cup win against St Merton last weekend,
20:50and then obviously to go and follow that up again today
20:53with a really good victory, another clean sheet.
20:57Defensively, I thought we were excellent all day.
21:00The first half was really scrappy.
21:02So that's a good win for Jim Goodwin.
21:05Two wins, and he's highlighting the clean sheets there,
21:07but it looks as if there's a really promising season ahead for United.
21:11Yes, it does. They've started really well.
21:13I'm a little bit surprised by the start.
21:15I thought they maybe would have struggled
21:16and took time to find their feet.
21:18They've brought in a number of players,
21:20but he'll be delighted with the start.
21:22Again, as he says, backing up that win last week
21:24with another win in the league is brilliant.
21:26The clean sheet, that's what they'll need this season.
21:28They need to keep it tight at the back
21:29and allow their forward players to go and get them goals to win games,
21:32and that's a brilliant result today.
21:34Aye, they've brought in a lot of players from a diverse geographical area,
21:39players from all erts and perps,
21:41but it seems to be gelling,
21:42and they seem to have a good attacking threat, Julian, I see.
21:45They do, and they got the clean sheet today,
21:48so they're obviously doing something right defensively as well.
21:52I think sometimes it's really difficult to get all the players to gel.
21:56Players who are new to the league can be really difficult
21:59to try and get everyone firing,
22:01but he seems to be doing that extremely well.
22:04Two big games in the mix.
22:05They've got Hearts away and they've got Rangers,
22:08so two massive fixtures for them as well coming up.
22:11Yeah, thanks very much, Julie.
22:13I'm afraid, though, folks,
22:14that's us just about finished for another Saturday afternoon.
