The Light Brigade REVIEW on Quest 3

The world remains in eternal darkness and only you can bring the dawn. Enlist in the ranks of The Light Brigade, humanity’s last line of defense. Journey through procedurally-generated battlegrounds as many times as it takes to free the souls of the fallen in this challenging roguelike shooter.

PHYSICS-BASED GUNPLAY creates tense battles against increasingly difficult enemies. Survival depends on your steady hands and mastery over realistic rifles, SMGs, pistols, machine guns, and more.

HARDCORE ROGUELIKE gameplay features procedurally-generated battlegrounds, an array of gun attachments (such as tactical scopes, silencers and charms), magic spells, buffs, and permadeath.

POWERFUL LIGHT MAGIC pairs beautifully with gunplay, offering new and tactical ways to defeat a wide range of increasingly difficult enemies.

MAGICAL TAROT CARDS can be looted from enemies and treasure chests during runs to stack a variety of buffs/debuffs for devastating effects.

ASCEND THE RANKS of The Light Brigade to improve your weapons, spells, character traits, gear, and abilities. Unlock new character classes and playstyles, making each journey unique.

UNCOVER THE MYSTERIES of what led to the world’s downfall as you fight to save it from the darkness.

00:00The Light Brigade is one of the best roguelike shooters on the quest currently, with its
00:20choice of weapons, upgrades, add-ons, tarot cards that are stacked for extra damage or
00:26perks, magical spells, crystal upgrades, there's so many ways to play this game. The game will
00:33start off quite easy, but as you progress and climb those ranks, it gets hard. The story
00:40is to set the souls free of your fallen colleagues' bodies, as well as shooting everything that
00:46tries to kill you, and freeing their souls also. Then with these souls, you will trade
00:51them for rank points. You have a choice of nine weapon classes that you will go into
00:57battle as, a rifleman, scout, pistolier, assault, militia, sniper, breacher, engineer or hunter.
01:07I really like the weapons in this game, especially when you start to add the attachments such
01:13as poison barrel and a dotted sight, which often gives you bonus hit damage. Now this
01:19is not a game where you could just run around shooting like a madman. You gotta find cover,
01:25pick shots, use everything available to you, spells, pendants that you can attach to your
01:31weapons, decoy dummies, grenades, a hover drum, the gun attachments, and I stress it
01:38again, finding cover is key. Levels are called battlegrounds, and each is a decent size,
01:45and they change with each run you do, except from the boss levels. So it works like three
01:52battleground runs, then a boss, then another three battleground runs, and a boss, and finally
01:59three battleground runs and the main boss, where if you defeat him, you get to choose
02:05your ending. Then you start it all over again. Now the only criticism I have about this game
02:12is the sound. So when I first started playing, the sound was good. Everything sounded where
02:18it should be, but somewhere in the first couple of updates, I think they messed it up and
02:24it still hasn't been fixed. So you used to be able to tell if enemies were close to you
02:29by hearing their footsteps, but now it sounds like an enemy is behind you or right next
02:35to you and there isn't, or sounds like an enemy is far away and then ends up being closer
02:40than you expected. The sound is important in this game. You should be able to hear your
02:46enemies and know roughly where they are, so I really do hope they're going to fix this.
02:52The mixed reality part is quite fun. Cracks will open up in your walls and you will shoot
02:57a few enemies, then the crack seals up and another appears and off you go again. Now
03:04every time I play this game, four hours seems to fly by as if I was only playing for an
03:09hour. My favourite classes are the Militia and the Assault, as you can tell by my ranks.
03:16I'm at quite a high level now, so it has become really hard, but this is one of my favourites
03:22on the meta quest and the updates have just been making it even so better. So I am going
03:29to score the Light Brigade a 39 out of 40. Find my scoring system in the description
03:37section below. Tap the like if you enjoyed this video, leave a comment if you have played
03:42the Light Brigade and what your favourite weapons class is. Please subscribe as a small
03:47channel like mine really needs your support in order to grow and reach other gamers. As
03:52always, thank you guys for choosing to watch my videos and I'll catch you on the next one.
03:57Happy gaming!
