00:00You know, the challenge is you want to win every single game now, but also we're trying
00:06to build something special here in New England.
00:08So that, that to me was, you know, that was a challenge.
00:11Translation, Jacoby Brissett is your starter.
00:14He could not have said it any clearer because that sentence doesn't make any sense the other
00:19way.
00:20Right.
00:21I couldn't apply to him.
00:22So he absolutely just told you without telling you because he hasn't told the team, although
00:24the team probably already knows as well, because just like those who voted in our poll, that
00:27was 78% expect Jake Jacoby Brissett to start.
00:31My guess in that locker room is it'd be a hundred percent.
00:33They've been behind the scenes.
00:34They know what's going on.
00:35They know who QB one is, but that sentence right there, which he didn't have to say,
00:40I believe it was.
00:41Phil Perry was ready to ask the next question.
00:42Shut up, Phil.
00:43I got more.
00:44I got more.
00:45I'm going to say something here.
00:46I know I should probably stop talking.
00:47And Stacey James has told me to talk less face up right now.
00:51I got more to say.
00:52And I'll talk to you when we're on quick slants again together in two years.
00:56That's right.
00:57Um, yeah.
00:58And, uh, all in all, I mean the demeanor, I thought the demeanor, the, the cadence,
01:03everything about it just seemed more assertive.
01:05It seemed more like, you know, he's been hearing the whispers around the media or maybe around
01:08the building and he wants to, he wants his name on this.
01:11He wants this to be the first thing that people look at and say, all right, Gerard Mayo became
01:15the real head coach today.
01:16Now, does he really?
01:17Cause remember the last time we heard this, do you remember the last time we heard this
01:20and it was a decision that was definitely made by the HC bill Belichick said when he
01:26hired Matt Patricia and Joe doesn't work, blame it on me.
01:29I do remember that.
01:30Yes.
01:31And we know that was his decision, right?
01:32That wasn't a collaborative.
01:33That wasn't anyone else.
01:34That was him making that decision.
01:36And then it seemed like he didn't really want to take the smoke later.
01:39I'm not sure I ever heard him say, yeah, I really porked that up.
01:43That really cost me my career and really screwed up Mack Jones.
01:46So it is interesting this tactic from a usually not so assertive, but maybe you're right.
01:53Maybe he's heard the whispers and needs, cause you know, if they're going to ask Drake
01:58may to be more assertive in his competition with Jacoby Brissett, which is what they did.
02:03They wanted him to be more assertive, not be deferential to the veteran.
02:07Doesn't the head coach need to follow his own advice and be more assertive and not defer
02:11everything to Alex van Pelt and Elliot Wolf and everybody else.
02:15You're the head coach.
02:17You're the one who is the face and voice.
