00:00Last night was exactly what we feared going into the season, and what a lot of us kind of thought the season might look like.
00:07And I think it was fool's gold, the Cincinnati game.
00:11You saw more signs of it, but at least they were able to move the ball and make a few stops in the Seattle game.
00:17But then last night, that just sort of exposed everything.
00:20You know, the offensive line is now down to second and third stringers.
00:23When the starters suck, the second stringers are worse.
00:26The third stringers just do that, whatever that is.
00:28So that's a mess, but they couldn't move the ball at all.
00:32Defensively, they couldn't get off the field.
00:34Now for the second straight week, they've made two quarterbacks, back-to-back weeks, look amazing.
00:39And I know Aaron Rodgers for his career is amazing, but he wasn't amazing the first two weeks, but he looked great last night.
00:46Geno Smith looked great in week two.
00:48And so it was a non-competitive game where, man, like the entertainment value, zero, zero for the Patriots.
00:57And that is rough. That was a rough go last night.
01:00Primetime, whole league is watching, and good gravy.
01:04That's what you come up with?
01:05I mean, you say that's what you came up with.
01:08Like the coaching staff has a lot of blame to go around today.
01:12Demarcus Covington joining us later.
01:14We will talk to Demarcus Covington, Patriots defensive coordinator, where, you know, I don't know what that was last night from him,
01:21or the offensive coaching staff, or the head coach, or the players, or the roster assembled by Elliott Wolfe,
01:28but you said it, Keith, week one was fool's gold.
01:31This is what we thought the Patriots were going to be?
01:33Well, actually, you know, I thought they'd go over four and a half wins.
01:36It's worse than I thought they would be.
01:37I thought three, I bumped it up to four after the Cincy game, so shame on me.
01:40That's worse than I thought they were capable of.
01:42I personally didn't see it coming, and even if you did, even if you thought they were going to lose,
01:46did anyone think it was going to be that bad and that ugly?
01:49And we now have our answer about week one.
01:51Was week one more about what the Patriots did or about the Bengals boycotting and overlooking the pass?
01:58It was more about Cincinnati.
01:59Yeah, Cincinnati, like, clearly.
02:01Oh, my God, yeah.
02:02They also have a track record under Zachary Taylor.
02:05Starting slow.
02:06This is really slow starts.
02:07Week one, horrible week ones, bad Septembers.
02:09Plus, you throw in no Tee Higgins and some of the other contract issues.
02:12Jamar Chase didn't want to be there, so you kind of toss that one to the side.
02:16And then Seattle, you know, was a very competitive game.
02:20I'm not going to, like, retroactively take that away and say it wasn't competitive.
02:22Went to overtime, for God's sakes.
