00:00Because the problem this summer is as simple as how bad Jacoby Brissett has looked.
00:06And look no further than that interception forcing it to Austin Hooper,
00:10that Gerard Mayo visually looked pissed on the sideline,
00:14and then audibly sounded pissed when he did his Zoom with the media the next day.
00:18Right? Like, he has ma-
00:21Jacoby Brissett is making this hard on everyone with how badly he is playing.
00:26Because he's supposed to be here to not make dumb mistakes,
00:29to hit the plays that are there.
00:30Oh, there's a guy down there, he's 12 yards away, he's wide open.
00:34You throw the ball to him, then we won't go anywhere after that,
00:37but we'll kick a field goal. Right?
00:39And we're not doing that. You're not doing that.
00:41You're turning the ball over.
00:42People tend to forget the second, the series right after he threw the pick, he tried again.
00:47He was like, had a guy on his ankle,
00:48and he just chucked it up over the middle like a rookie quarterback.
00:51And it didn't get picked, but it easily could have.
00:53So it's great to say we're going to sit a guy behind a veteran,
00:57because the veteran's ready, pro-ready was Gerard Mayo's term.
01:00Pro-ready.
01:00I would hope so. He's been in the league 10 years.
01:02Well, he can put his hands under center and take a snap every time.
01:06And that's pro-ready. Perfect.
01:08But when it's as bad as it is, that creates pressure, that creates problems.
01:12And then when you add in Drake May with a little uptick and an ooh throw,
01:16and ooh, he's making more throws and he's looking better rather than worse,
01:19that adds to it.
01:20But the biggest problem Gerard Mayo has right now with the plan,
01:24whatever the plan is, is Jacoby Brissette and how poorly he is playing.
01:27Well, in the moment right now, that definitely is a factor.
01:34I think the bigger factor that worries me a little more is through collaboration,
01:43we've come up with the plan for this guy.
01:47And to me, it satiates, in many ways, two people, Robert and Jonathan Kraft.
01:53Because now Elliott Wolfe can say, well, we didn't do like the other guy did.
01:58We didn't just throw the rookie in there.
02:00And we had someone here who could hold his hand a little bit,
02:04even though it has not created any competition.
02:07I've said it since the jump that both quarterbacks seem really comfortable with,
02:12yeah, I'll be in for a little bit and, well, the kid will take over.
02:15And the kid didn't come in and say, damn it, I'm grabbing this thing from the jump.
02:19Everybody has just kind of got along to get along.
02:22This is the process.
02:23This is the plan.
02:24This is how we're going to sort of execute it.
02:28But really, who is it for?
