00:00and welcome once again to the Results Show. This week we are in the 4 o'clock club, Julie
00:16Fleeting, Cammie Bell, you and me that is. We're here till about 5.15 with scores, reports,
00:21results and reaction to today's match. It's three games in the Premiership, so let's start
00:25there and hop round the grounds. First stop is the National Stadium, Hampden Park. It's
00:30Rangers at home to Ross County. Let's hear from Cairdyn.
00:34Rangers 2, Ross County 0. No sign of the Hampden Blues for Rangers in their temporary home
00:39from which it looks like they'll be signing off with a victory if this is, as they hope,
00:43their last Premiership match at the National Stadium. In truth, they've been comfortably
00:47the better side and thoroughly deserve a two goal advantage which ought indeed to be even
00:51more emphatic. The man who continues to split opinion among Rangers fans and others has
00:56been at it again, Mr Marmite, Cyril Dessers, sumptuously sweeping the home side ahead early
01:02on after a lovely move instigated by the rampaging Jeff Day from left back and ably assisted
01:07by Tom Lawrence with nice set up work. Dessers' fine finish means it's four goals in just
01:12six games this term to add to the 22 he notched up for Rangers last season. He then turned
01:18provider shortly after that only to watch Tom Lawrence shoot wide when it looked easier
01:22to make it 2-0. Rabbie Matondo then skimmed the crossbar for Rangers before sweeping in
01:27James Tavenier's nice corner just before half-time to give Philippe Clement, the manager, some
01:32comfort with the scoreline which could have been altogether different had Jack Butland
01:36at the other end not pulled off a superb early save at 0-0 from an excellent effort from
01:40Ronan Hale. Aidan Denham also made the Rangers keeper work very hard to prevent an equaliser
01:45at 1-0 so it's not that the Staggies haven't had chances, they just haven't taken them.
01:51Rangers on the other hand have and if they score again after the break this one really
01:54will be done and dusted.
01:55Thanks very much Kerry, let's head to Easter Road now and the capital, Hibernian against
02:00Dundee, let's welcome Brian.
02:01Yes, good afternoon and the sunshine here in the capital, David, it's Hibernian 1, Dundee
02:061. A scoreline you'd have to say though that flatters the home side as Dundee have been
02:10by far the better side in the opening 45 minutes. They took the lead after just nine minutes,
02:15they've got Tiffany with his third goal of the season. They were crossed by Simon Murray,
02:20a ridiculously poor clearance by Jordan Obita into the path of Lyle Cameron. He beat two
02:24Hibs defenders before playing the ball back to Tiffany who fired home from close range.
02:31Dundee thought they'd scored a second after 18 minutes. Cameron Lyle again, this time
02:36on target, oh it did take a deflection. The flag was up as the players celebrated. It
02:41went to VAR and I can tell you something David, this was very, very close but there
02:46was an offside in the build up to the goal that eventually was disallowed by the referee
02:54and VAR. Hibernian slowly came into the game, the fans weren't happy, there were boos ringing
02:59around the stadium. They had a succession of free kicks, Nicky Caddon making his home
03:03debut very wasteful with those. He was taken off them and Martin Boyle stepped up when
03:09the club were awarded a free kick just before the break and curled a right foot shot around
03:14the wall. You'd have to say the wall did break up and made it easier for Boyle to find a
03:18target. That sent the home fans into joy. It's level terms here, one apiece, but Dundee,
03:23well they'll be ruining those chances early on. They really should be in front. Half time
03:28here at Easter Road, Hibernian 1, Dundee 1. We find out how Dundee's arch rivals United
03:32are fairing in a Tayside derby against St Johnson today. Let's hear what Jane Lewis
03:38makes of things. No goals and I have to be honest, not much to shout about in this one,
03:42especially in the first half. They're hoping for better in the second half, the players
03:46are just out for the second 45 minutes, we're just about to get underway. The first shot
03:50at goal in this one came after 20 minutes, but David Babunski blazed over for Dundee
03:56United. Perhaps that set the tone because it did not get much better at all. Although
04:00in saying that, St Johnson should have scored towards the end of the first half. Benjamin
04:05Kipioka, certainly great work from him to nip in to get the ball, but his shot on the
04:10angle, so it was a tight one, it was a tricky one. It hit off the post, the ball fell back
04:15to Andre Raymond, who blazed over quite spectacularly. Hoping for better in the second half because
04:22the first half, I've forgotten it already, which is just as well, 0-0 here. Thanks very
04:26much Jane, there we go guys, three matches in the Premiership, four goals to them at
04:31the National Stadium, one of them for Cyrille Dessers, I think we have this discussion just
04:35about every week. Kerry Dean saying that he's loved by some, not so much by others, but
04:41he seems to know where the back of the net is. He does, and I think at the moment this
04:44is probably the best that I've seen him play. The goal that he actually scored is a really
04:49well worked goal, it starts off at left back with Yeffes, and then as it comes to Tom Lawrence,
04:55he does a brilliant turn in the middle, and as he's driving forward, he just slips the
04:59ball into Dessers, who does extremely well, just shifts the ball from his right foot onto
05:03his left, and it's a really great finish. So that goal in particular for me, it was
05:08a really well worked goal, but Dessers still had a lot to do, and it was really brilliant
05:13in the end. Yeah, and he set up Tom Lawrence for what maybe should have been another goal
05:18for Rangers. Oh yeah, it definitely should have been. Tom Lawrence has been really good
05:21in the first half, actually had a key part in Dessers' goal, his movement and his drive
05:26from the middle of the pitch and played Dessers through, but he was one on one with the goalkeeper,
05:30dragged it wide, I think he just clipped the post as it went past Laidlaw's left-hand side,
05:35but he should have definitely scored. Rangers have actually been really good, they've had
05:38a lot of good forward play, they've been a threat to the Ross County goal on a number
05:43of occasions, and as Kerry Dean said, they probably should be further ahead, but albeit
05:47Ross County have had a couple of opportunities, Jack Bilton had a really good save, strong
05:50hand with his left hand from Hale, so yeah, they just need to be aware, they can't concede
05:56the next goal and put themselves under pressure, they'll want to go and get that third goal
05:59and make it a relaxing afternoon for themselves. What a difference a week is, last week for
06:04Ross County they were playing the Spartans at Ainslie Park now at the National Stadium,
06:08playing Rangers, but it looks like two defeats from two very different games. Well at the
06:12moment it does, but as Cammy said, before Rangers even scored the first goal, Ross County
06:17looked like they did have a bit of a threat on the counter-attack, Ronan Hale had a couple
06:22of opportunities and if Butland hadn't been on his toes then it could have been a different
06:28story and if you go a goal down then it really is a different thing for Rangers when the
06:33crowd get behind or the crowd start to get unsettled, but as it stands it does seem extremely
06:41comfortable at the moment and Rangers you can only assume will continue to up the tempo
06:47in the second half. I suppose that's part and parcel of being a goalkeeper at a team
06:50like Rangers, you might not be called into action all that regularly but when you are
06:55you've got to be on your toes. Yeah I think Jack Butland is well used to it now as well,
06:58I think that's why he is a top goalkeeper, that he can make them big saves at big moments
07:02and as Julie says, if you lose a goal there it completely changes the complexion of this
07:05game, the fans get unrest, there would have been a lot of time obviously left on the clock
07:10but you need a top goalkeeper behind you because you know that one or two shots are going to
07:15come in, you need to make them saves, you need to be on your toes and Jack Butland does
07:19that every time, he's been very impressive since he's joined the club, so I'm pretty
07:23sure the defence will be glad they've got a goalkeeper of that quality behind them.
07:27Two goals there, both for Rangers meanwhile, Easter Road has won a piece, Dundee going
07:31ahead really early on and you start to, if you're of a Hibbs persuasion you're getting
07:36a bit worried but they've managed to get back into it. They have and there was also, they
07:40scored a second goal which was chopped off for offside, probably quite unfortunate because
07:44I think the player that was offside, the ball hits, it's a shot and it strikes the back
07:48of them. Really impressed with how Dundee started the game, we shouldn't be surprised
07:53now because they had a great season last season, they've continued it into the start of this
07:57season. Are you a wee bit surprised at how well they've started? It probably was big
08:03shoes to fill to continue to, I mean top six was massive for Dundee but they've shown that,
08:09they've got the players and the squad to continue to compete with big clubs like Hibbs. For
08:16me the first goal is really poor defending from Hibbs and we're seeing this far too often,
08:23their defending is, it was very passive, they failed to clear their lines from then on in,
08:29no one was really aggressive in the box and I get that you're putting a foot in, it's
08:33extremely nervous about whether you're going to concede a penalty or not but if you're
08:37defending you have to be more aggressive, you can't allow passes in and around your
08:42box to happen and that's kind of how Tiffany the ball fell to him and he made no mistake,
08:47it was a great finish. But to get back into it and Martin Boyle, a player who has been
08:52so important to Hibbs over the last few years, he seems to have been quite quiet recently
08:57but that'll possibly just be what he needs to kick start his season. Brian's saying that
09:03the wall kind of broke up but we've managed to see several reruns and it hits off one
09:07of the players and goes in, giving the goalkeeper very little chance to get it. Yeah, I think
09:12I don't put any blame on the goalkeeper, I look at the wall, I think the wall could
09:15have done better, I feel as if there's a couple of players that turned their bodies slightly
09:18and I think if you're a bit more braver you can take that one, albeit you might take it
09:21in the face, so I think Tony Docherty looked at that one and it could have been avoided
09:26but touching on Hibbs, Hibbs have been quite poor in that first half and David Gray will
09:30be looking for a reaction because I think that goal at the end of the half masks a lot
09:35of what's happened and Julie touching it, the defending was woeful from the first goal
09:39from Dundee, a weak at the back post, it's a simple clearance, you need to clear the
09:43ball and that's been a problem for Hibbs for a number of years now that they've not sorted
09:47out, they've not sorted their back line, I know they've made a number of signings this
09:50season but they need to get right because it's been such an Achille heel for Hibbs for
09:54so long now.
09:55Tim, we'll drop into the Championship now and find out how high-flying Air United, the
10:00early leaders, are faring at home to Wraith Rovers, Chick Young is at Somerset, Chick?
10:06Good adjectival phrase David because I do think there is something in the air down here
10:10at Somerset Park, glorious sunshine in the sky and a new stadium, a new stand at least,
10:17packed with an anticipation of the Town of Air and their leading Wraith Rovers by a goal
10:22to nil, it was a penalty after 38 minutes, Sean Byrne was red carded, Anton Dowd involved
10:29in the, it was very close, at first I thought it would be the ref to give a free kick outside
10:34the box, it was given as a penalty and Anton Dowd stepped up to drive it home and as I
10:39said Sean Byrne sent off, so Wraith Rovers, there may be something in the air for them
10:44but it's not smelling quite as sweetly as it is for Air United, managerless, of course
10:50they're still looking for a new manager, I understand that David Healy of Linfield, former
10:54Rangers Northern Ireland striker, is the leader in the clubhouse but they need to do something
10:58urgently on and off the park, it's Air United with something in the air as I said, leading
11:03Wraith Rovers by a goal to nil. Thanks very much Chick, good start of the game for Air
11:08United there, looks as though they could be looking at four wins from four. Yeah I mean
11:13a perfect start to their league campaign, I think probably helped by the fact that they
11:17weren't in the league cup, although you want to stay in the cup for as long as possible
11:21I think, last week being able to get that extra game in, to get the three points puts
11:26more pressure on other teams round about you and to be ahead against Wraith, that's a big
11:31game, that could be a big three points for you. Yeah Chick, alluding to the fact Wraith
11:35Rovers have been in negotiations with David Healy, the Linfield manager, former Rangers
11:40striker, he's done really well over in Northern Ireland, he's won the title five times. Yeah
11:45he's done really well as a manager, I think he's established hisself as a manager as well
11:49and probably the benefit is he knows Scottish football. New Kenny Shields maybe? Yes potentially
11:55yeah, again I think he'll hope he'll last longer than Kenny Shields over in Scotland
11:59but yeah I think he's established himself over at Linfield and probably the next progression
12:05would be to get yourself a good job in Scotland and look to do well in that and progress on
12:10and Wraith Rovers are a brilliant club, we all know that, they're a club very ambitious
12:14and they want to progress so it'll be interesting to see what happens. Let's stay in the Championship
12:19and head to Falkirk, the Bairns are home to Partick Thistle this afternoon, Andy Murk
12:23is there Andy? Good afternoon David, it's been an entertaining but so far goalless game
12:29here at the Falkirk Stadium, of course the Bairns looking to ride the crest of that wave
12:33created with that fantastic victory over Hearts in the League Cup and they've got the benefit
12:38of a man advantaged, that was after Partick, Mathiso midfielder Ben Stanway picked up two
12:44bookings within 25 minutes, the second of which for a crazy dive in the Falkirk penalty
12:49area, not even a hint of contact and he really got what he deserved when Lloyd Wilson pulled
12:54out the second yellow and then the red to send him for an early bath, there's been a
12:59few chances, not a goal so far but Ethan Ross has looked really threatening on the left
13:04wing for Falkirk, really direct, really pacey and he's given the Partick defence a lot to
13:09think about, he had the first chance of the game with a lovely curling effort that flew
13:13just wide and Calvin Miller had a similar effort coming off the opposite flank which
13:18forced Miles Roberts and the Thistle goal into action, after the red card Thistle actually
13:23responded pretty well, Rico Diak had their best chance but was denied by Nicky Hogarth
13:28in the Falkirk goal and just before half time Falkirk came closest to breaking the deadlock,
13:34Sean Mackey let fly from 25 yards, a real thunderbolt which brought a brilliant save
13:39from Miles Roberts who tipped the ball onto the crossbar, Falkirk have started the second
13:43half fast, they are on top but yet to find that opener, it's Falkirk 0, Partick Thistle
13:480.
13:49We're back to the Premiership and back to Tanner Dyce now, Dundee United are against
13:53St Johnson, we have a breakthrough Jane.
13:55We do have a breakthrough indeed and it's come for the home side, Dundee United 1, St
13:59Johnson 0 in this one, it's been a good start actually from both sides but the goal's gone
14:04to Dundee United, Lucas Stevenson with the rebound, quick to react after the goalkeeper
14:09made a really really good save from an initial shot on goal yet and it's 1-0 to Dundee United,
14:14but thankfully we've got a better play in the second half, both teams looked a bit more
14:18impetus about than David and certainly we've got goals as well, or certainly one goal and
14:23that's all good news, 1-0 to the home side here.
14:25Thanks very much Jane, so Cammy, Lucas Stevenson putting United ahead, maybe the goalkeeper
14:30can have done a wee bit better?
14:31Yeah possibly, again it's a shot that comes in, it's a good cross and cut back from the
14:36left hand side from Dundee United and the striker gets his shot away, for me there wasn't
14:40a lot of pace on the shot and Joshua Array palms it out in an area that you don't want
14:46to palm the ball out in as a goalkeeper, it's far too central, it allows the attacking team
14:51to potentially have the opportunity and he puts it in the back of the net, so yeah there's
14:54probably one that Joshua Array will look back and think he could have done better with that
14:57one.
14:58St Johnson probably should have been one ahead earlier on though?
15:01Yeah they had an absolute sitter in the first half, it comes from a good bit of play and
15:08the ball comes back off the post, I think it's Ramon that it drops to and he really
15:12should do much better, there's an open goal and I don't know if it clips the crossbar
15:17but it certainly goes over.
15:18Back to the Championship and we'll hear now from Gulli Singh, he's watching Livingston
15:22against Morton Gulli.
15:23Oh, hi David, yes, just about to beat Livingston 2, green at Morton now, if it wasn't for the
15:24safe hands of Goods and Gold and Morton, the Morton keeper there, but yeah Livingston
15:35scored just at the beginning of the second half, Scott Pittman latched on to a Daniel
15:39Finlayson cross, he tucked it past Woods, Livingston basically rewarded for all their
15:44efforts in the first half, they should have taken the lead just before the stroke at halftime,
15:48Finlayson really should have scored there, he had an open goal, it was cleared off the
15:52line, they've just had a chance there to make it 2-0, Morton really struggling to deal with
15:57the threat down this right hand side, so we'll see how the rest of the game goes but at the
16:00moment it is Livingston 1, green at Morton now.
16:03There we go, Livingston on top there, I believe that Falkirk have just gone one ahead against
16:08Partick Henderson, the scorer, Kami, against 10 men, Falkirk, you would imagine the way
16:13they've been playing this season and the record, they'll be able to hold on to that?
16:16Yeah, you'd think so, they've stacked the season all so well, they've been brilliant,
16:20again they've just continued on from last season, that huge result in the League Cup
16:23against Herts will give them even more confidence about playing these top teams in the Championship
16:27and again today as you see, Partick down to 10 men, it makes it really difficult for them
16:32at the Falkirk Stadium, so they'll be looking to try and make sure they close out and get
16:36all three points today.
16:37And they've got to try and hang on to the coattails of Air United, Air United have played
16:41a game more?
16:42They do and I think that'll be their target, I think if they're just going into every game
16:46with the same attitude that they've had all of last season, they've certainly continued
16:50that into the Championship and they've been a team who look like they could be real contenders
16:55to be challenging at the end and to play against them at the Falkirk Stadium with 10 men for
17:01so long is a big ask of the Partick players and you just kind of felt that it was only
17:07a matter of minutes before Falkirk went ahead.
17:09I'll just tell you what's happening in the other games in the Championship, Adrianian's
17:12nil, Queen's Park two and that one, that's Turner in Ruddon giving the Spiders a two
17:17nil lead in that one, Hamilton Academical one, Dunfermline Athletic nil, Tumelty, Regan
17:21Tumelty giving Akies the lead there and it's been a pretty poor start to the season, Cammy
17:27for the Pars.
17:28It's been grim, it's been grim so far and again I don't think they had a particularly
17:32great season last season with the expectations of where the club should be and where they
17:36want to be but obviously the club's recently been put up for sale and they're looking for
17:41new owners so there's a little bit of disruption but they need to get it right on the pitch
17:45because they don't want to get into this momentum of losing a lot of games, no points on the
17:49board at this moment in time so it's been a really difficult start for Dunfermline.
17:52Adrian During a wee bit of a tough time at the moment, thrashed last week albeit by a
17:57Dundee team that have come in hot so to speak but that in the back of a 5-0 defeat by Ayr
18:03as well.
18:04Yeah I think that's probably going to be the most disappointing is how they're conceding
18:07so many goals, something that they'll really want to fix quickly and again it's continued
18:14this afternoon as well for Airdrie.
18:15I think we're heading back now to the National Stadium, Hampden Park, Rangers against Ross
18:20County is the match there this afternoon and Kennedy Nitsan has news.
18:25Well this game is done and dusted, Rangers 3, Ross County 0, brilliant turn of pace from
18:30Rari Matondo down the left, fired the ball into the danger area and there I think was
18:35Cyril Dessos to score his second of the game and take his goal tally to 5 already, what
18:42would that be, 5 in 6 or 7 matches, something like that.
18:45In any case, Rangers happy, home and hosed, no coming back from this for Ross County.
18:51Thanks Kennedy, there we go, Rangers 3-0 ahead, three points in the bag, you would assume
18:55and it sounds like not only Dessos but Matondo finding a wee bit of form.
19:01He has, for me he's very hot and cold, I think he can produce moments in games that can really
19:07define them.
19:08I think there are other times when he allows the ball to bounce over his foot and it can
19:14be very frustrating but certainly this afternoon he's already got that goal and the third goal
19:19for Rangers he does really well, he uses his speed which he has in abundance, he gets
19:25beyond the back line, almost to the byline and he's passed right across the face of the
19:29goal for Dessos is spot on and it's an easy finish in the end for Dessos but certainly
19:34those are two players who Rangers will be desperate to get on form because they can
19:38really make a difference to the outcome of a game.
19:40Hot and cold is no good really at Rangers or Celtic is it, you've got to be hot pretty
19:45much all the time.
19:47I think Ravi Matondo, I think inconsistency, as Julie says he can be unbelievable and unplayable
19:53at times but he just doesn't do enough.
19:55If they can find him in a real run of form then he could be a real asset for Rangers,
19:59he could be worth a lot of money to them and they're a player, again they're struggling
20:03in the wide areas but today he's been brilliant, that goal there he just took the ball 30 yards
20:08from goal, made a brilliant run down and took everyone out of the game and put it on a plate
20:12for Dessos but again he's in the right position to finish it so really good play.
20:16There were a few moments early on in the game though where he ran the ball right out of
20:20play, he didn't have a great first touch and he allowed the Ross County defenders to nip
20:26in and then he has other moments and as you say when you're a player at Rangers you need
20:31to be absolutely on point every game and the Ravi Matondo that we've seen in terms of getting
20:37that goal and the way he's created the opportunity for Dessos is definitely a player that Rangers
20:41need.
20:42Now folks two Scottish clubs were on European duty on Thursday as Hearts entered the fray
20:47in the Europa League qualifiers with a trip to the Czech Republic and a 1-0 defeat to
20:52Victoria Pilsen, meanwhile Kilmarnock were on another Nordic venture in the Conference
20:57League, this time they were away to Copenhagen in Denmark and they lost by two goals to nil.
21:03Julie we'll start with Hearts losing through an own goal in stoppage time, that's got to
21:08be annoying eh?
21:09Oh absolutely, I think that's a really, really tough way to lose especially when you've worked
21:15extremely hard throughout the game, going to any away game in Europe is difficult, you've
21:20got the travel, you've got the unknown and you are always up against it and desperate
21:25to get some sort of result to take back to Tyne Castle but just the manner in which they
21:31lose a goal is just so disappointing from a Hearts point of view but I mean it's only
21:361-0, they're still very much in the tie and I'm sure bringing them to Tyne Castle it won't
21:42be an easy place for them to come and play.
21:44Yeah again I've seen quite a lot of the game actually and I think Hearts will have real
21:48belief taking it back to Tyne Castle, they missed a number of opportunities, they were
21:52really good in periods of the game, that goal again makes it all that little bit more difficult
21:56but I certainly think they'll have seen enough of the team that they played that they can
22:00firmly believe they can win at Tyne Castle.
22:02Mind you, having said that, it's not been an ideal start to the season for them is it?
22:07They did well in the opening day, a 0-0 draw with the Rangers, since then they've lost
22:13a few games and they've been knocked out of the League Cup.
22:17It's not been a Hearts type of start, I think the first game to get that 0-0 draw with the
22:23Rangers would have been a right boost for them, of course I think when you look back
22:28in the game there certainly was moments when they could have gone on to win it but then
22:32to not follow that up in the next game, to lose the next game and then to get put out
22:37of the League Cup is going to be a massive blow for them but certainly they will have
22:42a focus on European football and they'll want to do well in that competition.
22:46I've seen signs of the Rangers' performance on Thursday, so that's a positive for Hearts,
22:50I think the last two games against Dundee and then obviously the Fall Cup game they
22:54were really flat, there was a number of changes made, Stephen Naismith wasn't happy with the
22:58performances in those games but I'd certainly seen signs of that on Thursday night of the
23:02Rangers' performance which was pretty positive.
23:05So how do you rate their chances of going through?
23:07I think good, I think Tynecastle is a difficult place to come and play, I think they've certainly
23:14got the players in their squad to create problems, I felt against Rangers that they looked like
23:20they had a real great set-up, particularly in an attacking sense, I felt that they had
23:26creative players in the right areas, they had plenty of strength and depth within the
23:30players who were on the bench as well to really come off and make a difference and I think
23:34I'd be optimistic about them getting through in this tie.
23:37You feel they're creating enough, Cammy?
23:40I think they can create more but I felt on Thursday night they created a number of opportunities,
23:45this one wasn't ruthless enough, they didn't take their chances against Shankland, had
23:47a couple of opportunities that I felt as if a Shankland on form would have put them in
23:52the back of the net, he just didn't, so they'll be needing him to be on form when the return
23:57leg is this Thursday.
23:58Tougher for Kilmarnock, they're 2-0 down, I said it was a sore one for Hearts, possibly
24:04even sorer for Kelly, a disputed penalty that was determined after a VAR review and then
24:09a stoppage time second for Copenhagen.
24:13Yeah I think it was a real blow for Kilmarnock, I think there was long spells of the game
24:18where they had to defend, they had to be really organised and certainly to lose the
24:24goal to a VAR decision, they'll be extremely disappointed but for me the worst bit was
24:28the end of the game I think, those dying moments to concede a second goal that makes a massive
24:34difference and they haven't had a great season, Rugby Park hasn't been a place where teams
24:40have found it really difficult so far this season to go and get any points from and they'll
24:47need a really, really big performance and a big result.
24:50It was a tough draw for them though Copenhagen wasn't it, especially the first leg away
24:54from home, I was actually there and I thought Kelly were doing really well for a large portion
24:58of the game and then it was just those wee details that kind of let them down.
25:02Fine details, I mean you look at Copenhagen, the last 16 of the Champions League in March,
25:06not so long ago playing Man City and then all of a sudden Kilmarnock are playing Copenhagen
25:12so it just shows you how far Kilmarnock have come on but we're very close on the night
25:16and they'll hopefully put in a good performance on Thursday night to do themselves justice.
25:20We'll break off from this discussion just now because we're heading back to Hamden,
25:23Rangers against Ross County and let's rejoin Kerry Dean.
25:42A lovely flowing move, took them from one end of the pitch to the other, lovely assist
25:47I think it was from Matondo and then Lawrence took the ball in his stride and calmly slotted
25:52it past a helpless Ross Laidlaw and in off the left-hand post making up for the sitter
25:57that he missed earlier, Rangers are cruising to all three points here at Hamden.
26:02Thanks Kerry Dean, that was a nice wee finish there from Tom Lourdes making amends for earlier on.
26:08Yeah, getting involved in the goals, it's a great piece of breakaway play from Rangers,
26:12the ball goes into Dessars in the halfway line and he manages just to link up with Matondo
26:17who we've just spoke about and his performance this afternoon has been excellent.
26:23He drives at the defender and what he does really well is the weight of pass, the timing of the pass,
26:28he allows Lawrence just to catch up, rolls the ball into his path and a really, really cool finish.
26:34And it looks like Ross County's first defeat of the league season.
26:36Yeah, it certainly is and as I say, it's been an easy victory for Rangers but as Julie said,
26:42Matondo again, he's just brilliant on the day to day, his weight of pass and that's sometimes
26:46simple things that he'll let himself down with, his weight of passes when it's easy to do,
26:51he does it perfectly for Lawrence and it's a great finish.
26:53Not heard from Brian McLaughlin for a wee while, missing his voice actually,
26:56let's head back to Easter Road, Hibs against Dundee, do we have any advance, Brian, on one apiece?
27:01Midway through the second half, David and it's still Hibernian 1, Dundee 1,
27:04but what a cracking game of football we have here, both teams having a real go,
27:08Dundee coming really close early on, a free kick from Luke McKeown,
27:12where will he be after the transfer window closes?
27:15Just clipping the outside of the goalkeeper's right-hand post.
27:19Hibs have made a triple change, bringing on Chris Carney who replaced his brother,
27:23Nicky, Kieran Bowies, Josh Campbell, Martin Boyle,
27:27it's just an effort as well, it's just drifted beyond the left-hand post of the Dundee goalkeeper,
27:32John McCracken, this game could go any way here, it's still Hibernian 1, Dundee 1.
27:37Let's head to Tannerdice then and get an update from Jane on Dundee United against St Johnstone.
27:42Still the home side, Dundee United leading this one by a goal to nil,
27:45the second half so much better, I have to say, David, both teams have a bit more impetus about us,
27:51only that goal separating the sides, so still finely poised,
27:54Lucas Stevenson for Dundee United scoring after 54 minutes on the rebound,
27:58before that Graeme Currie had a shot from the edge of the area,
28:02absolutely cracked it, got plenty behind him,
28:04but it was well tipped over by Jack Wilson in the Dundee United goal,
28:07but yeah, that Luca Stevenson on the rebound shot,
28:10the only goal that's separating these sides between this one so far,
28:14but yeah, it's a lot better in the second half, thankfully.
28:17Time for us to call upon the services once more of Gully,
28:19he's watching Livingston against Morton in the Championship.
28:23Hi David, yes, can't quite believe it, it's been all Livingston,
28:26they really should be at least three or four up,
28:28especially after Scott Pittman opened the scoring on 54 minutes,
28:32it was just a siege of Livingston attacks,
28:34they should be, you know, they should have been two or three up,
28:37especially through Teta Yenge, Stevie May went close as well,
28:40but on 70 minutes, Zach Delaney, he drew the foul,
28:44it was Liam Soule that brought him down,
28:45and Owen Moffat stepped up, Dougie Emery's sides,
28:49back on level terms to everyone's surprise here,
28:52Livingston though will believe they can go and find this winner,
28:54so there's only about 20 minutes left,
28:56it's currently Livingston 1 Greenock, Morton 1.
28:59Thanks very much Gully, I was just thinking there,
29:01Dundee United 1 up on St Johnson,
29:03Dundee United, they've had a decent start to the season,
29:06couple of draws, a win last week against St Mirren in the League Cup,
29:09they're in the quarter-finals there,
29:10and if they get three points today,
29:12then five points from three games,
29:14that's a decent return, isn't it?
29:16Yeah, I think they will be pleased,
29:17I think the opening game of the season,
29:19they certainly, there'd have been a lot of hype,
29:21considering the fact that that was the derby,
29:24I think because they were at home,
29:26they probably would have expected to win that,
29:29or certainly would have loved to have got all three points,
29:31but since then, to still be in the Cup,
29:33the League Cup at this stage,
29:35they get a great result against St Mirren,
29:38they'll want to, when they're at home,
29:40make sure that they're winning games,
29:42certainly against teams like St Johnson,
29:45who they would be hoping to finish above.
29:48Guess what, we're off to Hamden again,
29:50I think we've got another goal,
29:51Kerdyn, Rangers 5-0 Ross County.
29:53Rangers 5-0 Ross County,
29:55Vaclav Cerny with the assist,
29:57Rabih Matondo with the finish for his second of the game,
30:01and it was almost kept out on the line,
30:04but Ross County, they have had absolutely no answer to Rangers whatsoever today,
30:10Rabih Matondo, couple of goals, couple of assists,
30:13Rangers really are enjoying themselves at Hamden this afternoon,
30:165-0 to the good.
30:18Thanks, Kerdyn, you know, maybe revenge is a dish best served,
30:21in the cold of a Scottish summer afternoon,
30:23because the last time the sides met in Dingwall,
30:26County won 3-2,
30:27and it kind of scuppered Rangers in their attempt to win the League.
30:31Yeah, that was probably the turning point,
30:34obviously that result, and then followed up with the Dundee result for Rangers,
30:37where it turned the League for them,
30:38but they've been brilliant today,
30:39they've worked really well,
30:40and Clement will be absolutely delighted with the performance,
30:43and the way that Matondo again,
30:45Cerny involved in that goal,
30:46so all these guys that maybe haven't played a lot of games,
30:49Cerny being new to the club,
30:50it'll be a real feel-good factor around,
30:52and they've missed that for a few weeks,
30:54there's been a lot of negativity around Rangers recently,
30:56so this'll be a good day for them.
30:58Here's the thing though, Julie,
31:00just as it looks as though they're settling into their new pad at Hamden,
31:05they might soon be back at Highbrooks.
31:07They should, I think the pitch,
31:09certainly it being a really big pitch in games like this afternoon,
31:13really helps Rangers,
31:14I think Ross County probably found it more difficult with the size of that,
31:18especially with the way in which Rangers are playing,
31:20but the fact that it's a big game next week for Rangers against Celtic,
31:25and you've got players now
31:26who will have now given the manager plenty of things to think about,
31:31I think he spoke before the game about trying to manage the minutes,
31:35and give players game time
31:37who maybe hadn't had a great pre-season in terms of injury,
31:40and been able to train properly,
31:42so what he's been able to do this afternoon
31:44is give these players more time on the pitch,
31:47but also what it's done is given him a lot more things to think about
31:51in terms of his line-up for next week.
31:53Plenty of goals at the National Stadium,
31:55and there's been another goal at the game between Hibs and Dundee at Easter Road,
31:59let's hear from Brian.
32:00It's a goal for Hibernian,
32:02it's Kieran Bowie who just signed a couple of weeks ago from Fulham,
32:07the long ball played into the box,
32:09he used his strength really to beat off a couple of the Dundee defenders,
32:13and then drilled a low left-foot shot beyond McCracken into the back of the net.
32:18It's Kieran Bowie's first goal here for Hibernian,
32:21it's now Hibernian 2, Dundee 1.
32:242-1, Hibs looking as though they could be getting their first win of the league season,
32:28what was your view of the goal, Gavin?
32:30Yeah, listen, Kieran Bowie, it's a throw-in from the right-hand side,
32:34and it comes into Kieran Bowie,
32:35it's absolutely brilliant,
32:36holds off two or three defenders,
32:38and he's at an angle and just flashes it across the goal,
32:41past the goalkeeper,
32:42gives them no chance,
32:43really good bit of play,
32:44strong play from the Hibs player,
32:46and it's a really important goal for Hibs.
32:49Were you familiar with Kieran Bowie's work prior to him coming up to Hibs?
32:52I wasn't, but they'll certainly be hoping that he's going to be an important player for them,
32:56I think they do have players who can really hurt other teams,
33:00and they've got an attacking threat,
33:02their problem has been at the back,
33:03so now they'll be hoping that defensively they can do their job,
33:08and make sure that Dundee don't get another.
33:10Now, folks, never mind a triple threat,
33:12there's a triple treat in the Premiership tomorrow,
33:15that means highlights of three games in the sports scene,
33:17and coverage in Sunday's SportsZone.
33:19First up, the Buddies versus the Boys,
33:21Sint Maarten against Celtic,
33:23Cammy, Stephen Robinson's side should be well-rested for once to face the Champions,
33:27but the Champions just so have happened to have won all their games so far this season,
33:32they've started really, really well.
33:33Yeah, listen, they've been ruthless since the start of the season,
33:36they've been very impressive for me when they've played,
33:38they look really strong,
33:40so it'll be another game that Brendan Rodgers will know
33:43he'll want to go and get all three points
33:45before the huge Old Firm game that comes up next weekend.
33:48Five times the sides met last season, Celtic won all five of them
33:52by an aggregate score of 13-3,
33:54I think you have to go back to,
33:56it's only a couple of years ago,
33:57Sint Maarten beat Celtic 2-0 in Paisley,
34:00Sint Maarten, as I mentioned there,
34:02have had that wee kind of arduous schedule,
34:04been involved in European football,
34:05but they've had a decent rest now.
34:07Yeah, and I think to go to Paisley,
34:10it'll be a different tie than being at Parkhead,
34:14and Celtic are, though, they haven't conceded a league goal yet,
34:19they've scored six in the league,
34:21I think that's quite a daunting start
34:23if you're a team that's going to come up against them,
34:25but you'd be desperate to be that team who puts the first goal past them,
34:30you're just hoping that Sint Maarten can make sure that they stay organised
34:34and make a competitive game for it.
34:37But yeah, Celtic will be desperate to try and get a big performance,
34:40a decent result,
34:42because that's going to be really important going into their old firm game.
34:45Would you be surprised, Mr Bell,
34:47if Matt O'Reilly's in the Celtic line-up tomorrow?
34:50Listen, there's going to be a huge amount of speculation
34:54with regards to if he goes and when he goes,
34:58I don't know what's going on behind the scenes at the moment,
35:01I'm pretty sure there's been,
35:02which there has been a number of bids,
35:03but Brendan Rodger will be desperate to keep him,
35:05if it was up to him, he'd be desperate to keep him,
35:07because he's such a key player for Celtic going forward,
35:10I don't think he'll get the final say in it,
35:12so yeah, they just need to deal with what comes their way.
35:15And you might like some of the cash,
35:16some of the figures that have been mentioned are mouth-watering.
35:19I think it would be a brilliant piece of business for Celtic,
35:23I think, yes, ideally the fans and the club
35:25would be desperate to keep a player of his quality,
35:28but actually that's what happens in Scottish football,
35:31when players come up and you can improve them as a player,
35:34you can develop them, you can see the quality that they've got,
35:37and Celtic could end up making a good bit of money.
35:41He will be a big loss, but certainly at the moment
35:45they've got other players there who can still continue
35:48to keep that standard high.
35:49Should he go, and should he go for a considerable sum,
35:52Celtic supporters will be desperate for that money,
35:55and Brendan Rodger as well, you'd imagine,
35:57to reinvest that.
35:58Yes, and again it's how much he gets to reinvest in that,
36:01and that's the big part for me,
36:03that if O'Reilly goes he leaves a huge void,
36:05because he's such a big player,
36:06especially for Champions League football,
36:08can they get a quality player between now and the end of the window
36:11to replace him?
36:12That probably will be really difficult,
36:14and somebody who's going to hit the ground running as well,
36:16so it's going to be a challenge for Brendan Rodgers
36:18if he loses him, but again his focus will be on beating St Mirren,
36:21getting the three points, and then moving on to the Old Firm game.
36:25Difficult to attract Champions League quality players
36:27to Scotland though, isn't it?
36:29Yes, it probably is, but I think what can be attractive
36:33is when you see players developing,
36:35you can see their quality and you can see them moving on,
36:39I think that can be attractive to players,
36:41to come to Celtic and yes, get European football,
36:44but also sometimes it can just be the kickstart
36:47for the career that they need,
36:49and I think if you speak to other players
36:51who have joined Celtic,
36:54you only have to speak to Joe Hart
36:56to hear just how wonderful he thought of the club
37:00and his time there,
37:02and I think when you do have these experienced players
37:04who have gone and been a real success at Celtic,
37:08then their words can be quite powerful,
37:11so it's certainly a great place to play your football just now
37:14and you would hope that people could recognise that.
37:16I mentioned St Mirren lost 5-5 against Celtic last season,
37:19but some of the performances were good,
37:20particularly the last one at Celtic Park,
37:22so you could have got something out of the game.
37:24What's his best, in your view,
37:26what's his best strategy tomorrow?
37:28That's a difficult one DC.
37:30To go for it?
37:31I think they need to go for it a little bit,
37:33but they need to be controlled the way they go for it.
37:35Again, they can't make mistakes,
37:37they can't give away cheap goals,
37:39and they also need to pose a threat going forward,
37:41so it's going to be a tough game,
37:43but as I say, it'll be a tough game for Celtic as well.
37:45St Mirren will fancy their chances,
37:47but I just feel as if Celtic might be too strong on the day.
37:50Aberdeen will fancy their chances at home to Kelly.
37:52Tomorrow, Aberdeen go in great guns
37:54under the new manager Jimmy Tallinn.
37:56Unbeaten?
37:57Yeah, I mean their start to the season has been ideal.
38:00I think the fans there,
38:03they have high expectations, and rightly so.
38:06They want their team to be playing with some sort of identity,
38:09which they seem to be doing,
38:11and their home games will be crucial.
38:14The fans will want to go there and be entertained
38:16by the football that they're playing,
38:18and so far, they seem to have a really great attack and style.
38:21They're playing nicely, as we can see here,
38:24and this is a great goal, a well-worked goal.
38:26Good movement off the ball, and really well finished.
38:29It has been a really positive start to the season for Aberdeen,
38:33and certainly against Kilmarnock,
38:35they'll be hoping to continue that.
38:37They've won all their games in some style.
38:39We saw McGrath there, he's been outstanding.
38:42Yeah, listen, some of the players that have been there
38:44look like different players, to be honest.
38:46It just shows you what confidence does.
38:48Winning games of football, they've got that momentum,
38:50they'll want to keep that going.
38:52Tomorrow it's going to be against a tired Kilmarnock team,
38:55a Kilmarnock team that have got a number of injury concerns,
38:58and then they've got a big European game on Thursday,
39:00so it's a game I would expect Aberdeen to go and win.
39:03One thing I would say about Aberdeen so far is
39:05the teams they've played, I would expect them to beat,
39:08so it'll be interesting when they come up against a top, top team
39:11and see how they fare against them.
39:13Bajowski's away, but it looks as though they could be
39:15close to a replacement with Kevin Nisbet
39:18coming from Millwall on loan.
39:20A good signing?
39:23I would say so.
39:24I think sometimes when you're looking to bring a player in,
39:27you could be bringing in a player who's had a decent season
39:30for their own club in a different country,
39:33but Kevin Nisbet knows how to play Scottish football,
39:36he knows how to be successful,
39:38he's scored so many goals already in this league,
39:42you would hope he would just continue where he had left off.
39:46A great striker, and I think he could be a great buy for Aberdeen.
39:50I just wanted to ask you this, Cammy, because I was speaking to Derek McInnes
39:53and he said, look, for us just now, Europe is the priority,
39:56so you can read into that what you like.
39:58Players are maybe going to be rested on Sunday for the trip to Aberdeen
40:02and kept in reserve for the game at Rugby Park on Thursday
40:05against Copenhagen.
40:06Yeah, I think they will, and we've seen that again
40:08in the League Cup game against Motherwell,
40:10players have changed it and used their squad.
40:12Again, Komarnik just need to win games soon,
40:16that's my issue, we've played some top, top teams so far,
40:19the European games, obviously Celtic first game of the season,
40:22so it's been a difficult start for them,
40:24but they don't want to lose belief,
40:27because they've had belief within the club the whole last season,
40:29they don't want to lose that at this moment in time,
40:31so it would be good if they can get a result tomorrow.
40:33Hearts also in European action,
40:35we discussed that a wee bit earlier on Thursday,
40:37they're at Tyne Castle, but tomorrow it's Motherwell for them,
40:40and Hearts really need to get their league campaign kick-started.
40:44They do, because they don't want to find themselves with lots to do
40:47to try and claw back, to get back to a European position,
40:50I think they've only scored one goal in their last four games
40:53in all competitions, so that will be a concern for them,
40:57going away from home as well,
40:59and really important that they try and get points on the board,
41:02because they don't want to find themselves adrift of the other teams.
41:05A good win for Motherwell last week in the League Cup over Kilmarnock,
41:09it took them extra time, but with all their injury problems
41:12and a sluggish start to the season,
41:14that could do them the world of good in terms of the league form.
41:17Absolutely, it'll give them confidence again,
41:19just winning a game of football,
41:21it'll have been a better week at the club,
41:23it always is when you've been struggling a little bit,
41:25training becomes a little bit more intense,
41:27but they've had a good win, so I'm pretty sure Stuart Kelly
41:30will be a bit more relaxed this week going into it,
41:32knowing it's going to be a difficult game,
41:34but the belief will be there within his squad.
41:36We'll take a wee diversion now, folks,
41:38and head to the English Premier League,
41:41and we'll bring you news of today's lunchtime kick-off.
41:43Brighton at home to Manchester United,
41:45John Suttle was watching.
41:47A terrific game from start to finish,
41:49with Jao Pedro winning the match in the 95th minute.
41:52Brighton led 1-0 at half-time, thanks to Danny Welbeck's goal,
41:55Welbeck then hit the bar before the equaliser,
41:57and Mediallo's shot deflected in off Van Gekker.
42:00Ganaccio then had a goal disallowed,
42:02his shot coming off the offside knee of Joshua Xerxe right on the line.
42:06Then the late drama, Fabian Herzler made three positive substitutions,
42:10and it paid off, with Jao Pedro heading into the bottom left-hand corner
42:14in the 95th minute.
42:16Absolute bedlam in the Amex Stadium.
42:18He had the run of the penalty area with the header,
42:20non-existent marking, and you have to say, both goals,
42:23poor defending from Manchester United.
42:25So, Brighton, two wins from two, and what a start for Fabian Herzler.
42:30I could start for him, maybe in days of old,
42:32Brighton not the most fashionable of clubs,
42:34but that all seems to be changing.
42:36Yeah, it does, and to get three points so early on in the season
42:41against a big club, I think Brighton will be delighted with that,
42:45and the manner in which they've won the game as well,
42:48it really gives the players a huge lift,
42:51but a really disappointing result from a Manchester United point of view.
42:55From Brighton to the Bairns, because we're heading back
42:57to the Falkirk Stadium now. Andy Burke has a tale for us.
43:00Falkirk Partick.
43:02Yes, three goals since we last spoke, David.
43:05It's Falkirk 2, Partick Thistle 1.
43:08Liam Henderson broke the deadlock in spectacular fashion,
43:11the big defender striding out from the back,
43:14letting fly from 25 yards,
43:16and his rocket found the top corner to give Falkirk the lead.
43:20Partick Thistle, of course, down to ten men,
43:23following the red card of Ben Stanwy in the first half
43:26for two bookings in the opening 25 minutes.
43:29They had to come out and play, having fallen behind,
43:31and they got themselves back into the game,
43:33substitute Terry Ablada doing well to hold off a challenge
43:36and poke the ball home from ten yards,
43:39but the Falkirk response has been excellent,
43:41and they're on the attack again, almost got a third there,
43:44a good save to deny them, but just a few moments ago
43:47the ball was thrown into the Thistle box,
43:49it eventually landed at the feet of Brad Spencer,
43:51he did really well to keep it straight down
43:53and find the back of the net, so Falkirk 2-1 up,
43:56pushing for a third, and Thistle hanging on somewhat,
44:00but it's Falkirk 2, Partick Thistle 1.
44:02There we go, so Falkirk 2-1 up in that game,
44:05Partick Thistle making a right fight of it, mind you.
44:07Yeah, I think that's the kind of character that they'll need,
44:10they're a big club and they'll want to be challenging at the top,
44:12these games against teams like Falkirk,
44:14who you're going to want to be competing with at the top,
44:17are really important, and we know they lost
44:20a man in the 25th minute, that's a huge ask then
44:23of the other players on the pitch,
44:25but they certainly are putting up a fight
44:27and it'll be interesting to see how the game finishes.
44:30We're heading back to Tanners Ice,
44:32no we're not, we're not going to head back to Tanners Ice,
44:34we'll keep our powder dry on that,
44:36because there is an incident there,
44:38but we're just trying to get to the bottom
44:40of exactly what happened in that game.
44:43Partick Thistle, Kami, I will pivot on to that seamlessly,
44:47Partick Thistle, still searching for their first win of the season,
44:51I fancied them maybe at the start of the season to be right up,
44:54it's early days right now, but I thought they'd be up the top.
44:57So did I, I was with you David,
44:59I felt as if they'd be one of the teams that,
45:01again learning from experience, they've been so close
45:03that they'd have probably looked at this season
45:05that there's not a real team out in the Championship
45:08that you'd have put as firm favourites,
45:10whereas the previous years there has been
45:12with regards to Komarnik and Dundee United in there.
45:14So yeah, I think they'll be disappointed with the start,
45:17but it's only early doors, I think the Championship
45:19is going to go right to the wire this season,
45:21I see a lot of teams beating each other this season.
45:23Right, with news of a bit of a to-do at Tanners Ice now,
45:27eventually is Jane, Dundee United against St John's,
45:30it's all kicking off.
45:31Yeah, it's not good news for St John's,
45:33they're already a goal down in this one,
45:35and they're also a man down as well,
45:37Adam Sidby has just been sent off our second yellow card,
45:41he looked to have just put an arm around
45:43and grabbed onto Will Ferry,
45:45Will Ferry fell to the ground grabbing his face,
45:47obviously he's caught him in the face,
45:49and Sidby was sent off, he was hanging around
45:52at the tunnel area, I don't know if they were having
45:54a little VAR check on it at all,
45:56there was no announcements that I heard,
45:58but certainly he was hanging around,
45:59but yeah, then he was given the nod,
46:01that yeah, sorry, early bath for you,
46:03and St John's are down to 10 men,
46:05and Dundee United have just grabbed a second goal here,
46:08it looked like a goalkeeping error from me,
46:11the ball looped over the St John's goalkeeper,
46:15Josh Ray, he's not happy at all,
46:17Dundee United players are all just together
46:20in a huddle celebrating,
46:21they look to have wrapped this one up David,
46:23you'll probably get a better view of it
46:24from the replays in the studio,
46:25but yeah, Dundee United now 2-0 up,
46:28just as I was describing the fact that St John's
46:30have been reduced to 10 men.
46:33Aye, that's an interesting goal,
46:35I was just thinking as we were watching the pictures,
46:37I was thinking that this season,
46:39more than perhaps for a wee while,
46:41the long throw has been utilised by a lot of teams.
46:45It's like a corner.
46:46I've never seen anybody really pretty much sworn from one.
46:48That's an incredible, incredible long throw,
46:51it goes almost in line with the front post,
46:53and really hard to deal with,
46:55the goalkeeper tries to come,
46:56he's got plenty of bodies to try and get through,
46:59so possibly not the right decision for him
47:01to come and try and punch,
47:03Kami, you'll know better than me,
47:05but the ball ends up in the back of the net,
47:08but long throw, it can be like a corner,
47:11it can be really dangerous,
47:12it can just offer you that opportunity to get a goal.
47:15Back to the Championship, back to Chick Young,
47:17Air United against Wraith Rovers, Chick?
47:19Yeah, it's another magnificent afternoon for Air United,
47:22a club who definitely, as I said earlier,
47:24have the wind in their sails,
47:26they are now 2-0 ahead against 10 men Wraith Rovers,
47:29remember, Rovers down to 10 men,
47:31just before half-time, when Sean Byrne was sent off,
47:35there's a chance, but it's held by the Air United goalkeeper,
47:38Harry Stone, yes, Sean Byrne sent off red card,
47:41Dowd's, Anton Dowd with a penalty kick,
47:44put Wraith behind at half-time,
47:46and just a moment or two ago, it got worse for them,
47:49substitute Ethan Walker, with a second for Air United,
47:53against 10 men Wraith Rovers,
47:55he was caught at the back, Wraith Rovers 3-1 actually,
48:00as they came through,
48:02and they're definitely all three points,
48:04we're well into time adding on here, David,
48:06we kicked off very early in the second half,
48:08about three minutes into extra time,
48:10you can take it for granted that all three points
48:13will stay at Somerset Park tonight,
48:15and it looks like Air United will be the league leaders,
48:18new stand, new era, and a new hope for Air,
48:21great performance, a leading with seconds to go,
48:23by two goals to nil.
48:25Tell you what, you can't take anything for granted
48:27where Hibernian are concerned,
48:29Hibs are home to Dundee this afternoon,
48:31Brian, you have news.
48:33It looked as if they were going to hold on for the victory,
48:35but not so, because Simon Murray has just equalised
48:39for Dundee, with just two minutes left on the clock,
48:42the ball was played forward, nipped into the path
48:45of Simon Murray, whose pace took him away
48:47from the Hibernian defender,
48:49and then he slipped the ball between the legs
48:51of the Hibernian goalkeeper, and into the back of the net,
48:54this could still go any way here at Easter Road,
48:58it is now Hibernian 2, Dundee 2.
49:02That looked like a wee bit of a soft goal
49:04for Hibs to concede, Cammy.
49:06How many times do I say it, David?
49:07Soft goals and Hibs go together,
49:09but again, it's a brilliant finish for Simon Murray,
49:11Simon's one of my good friends actually,
49:13he's a brilliant guy to have about the changing room,
49:15fantastic footballer, works ever so hard,
49:17and he's been amazing since he came back
49:20to Scottish football from his South African adventures,
49:23done really well at Queen's Park,
49:25then moved on to Ross County,
49:26and he's flying with Dundee again, brilliant.
49:28It looked as though he had the eye of the tiger there.
49:30It was the most aggressive celebration I've ever seen.
49:33He was almost punching his teammates away.
49:35That's his team though, isn't it?
49:36He's so passionate about football,
49:38and scoring goals, and winning games,
49:40and that just typifies Simon Murray.
49:44Say that again?
49:46Try that for the fourth time.
49:49That would be a great result for Dundee,
49:51given that they were behind.
49:53Hibs have just hit the bar there,
49:55so it was very close.
49:56Do you think we'll be hearing from Brian again?
49:58I think when you come from behind,
50:00of course they went ahead in the game
50:01and were probably really disappointed
50:03to find themselves 2-1 down,
50:05but at this stage in the game,
50:07they'll absolutely take a point.
50:08Too much excitement already,
50:10so I'm going to pause proceedings for a minute or two
50:13because it's trail time, folks.
50:14Here's what's coming up this evening.
