00:00It's his formal introduction to the American people and his first major test on the national
00:07stage since the little-known Tim Walz was named as Kamala Harris' running mate only
00:1215 days ago.
00:14And in his speech to accept the Democratic vice presidential nomination, the Minnesota
00:19governor drew ferociously on the day's theme, a fight for our freedoms.
00:24When Republicans use the word freedom, they mean that the government should be free to
00:29invade your doctor's office, corporations free to pollute your air and water.
00:36But when we Democrats talk about freedom, we mean the freedom to make a better life
00:41for yourself and the people that you love.
00:44In his address to the Democratic National Convention, the 60-year-old military veteran,
00:49former high school teacher and football coach referred to his Midwest upbringing and lifetime
00:54of public service.
00:56He spoke personally of the difficulty of IVF and fertility treatment and conceiving
01:00his daughter, eliciting a visibly emotional response from both of his children.
01:07The day was packed full of star power, including a performance from Stevie Wonder and a speech
01:12from Oprah Winfrey.
01:14We will be set back, pushed back, bullied back, kicked back, we're not going back.
01:23Another headliner was a veteran of the political convention, former President Bill Clinton,
01:28who accused Trump of putting himself above the voters.
01:32So the next time you hear him, don't count the lies, count the eyes.
01:40Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg also shepherded the
01:46campaign's message.
01:47The four-day convention comes to an end on Thursday, where Vice President Harris will
01:52formally accept her party's presidential nomination, and then has less than 80 days
01:57left to convince any undecided voters.
