Transcript
00:00Today is the feast of the Queenship of Mary.
00:20We are a kingly people, a royal priesthood.
00:24We share in the victory of Christ and Mary, of course, shared in a special way as the
00:29first Christian disciple, as the one for whom the Lord did great things.
00:33In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, peace be with you.
00:39We acknowledge our sins, but more importantly, the compassion, the mercy, and the love of
00:44God.
00:45Lord, have mercy.
00:47Christ, have mercy.
00:49Lord, have mercy.
00:51May Almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us our sins, and lead us into healing and
00:57life everlasting.
00:58O God, who made the mother of your son to be our mother and our queen, graciously grant
01:04that sustained by her intercession, we may attain in the heavenly kingdom the glory promised
01:10to your children, through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in
01:15the unity of the Holy Spirit, God forever and ever.
01:20Amen.
01:21A reading from the Prophet Isaiah.
01:25The people that walked in darkness has seen a great light.
01:29On those who live in a land of deep shadow, a light has shone.
01:34You have made their gladness greater and have made their joy increase.
01:40They rejoice in your presence as men rejoice at harvest time, as men are happy when they
01:47are dividing the spoils.
01:50For the yoke that was weighing on him, the barb across his shoulders, the rod of his
01:56oppressor, those who break as on the day of Midian.
02:01For all the footwear of battle, every crow crawled in blood is burned and consumed by
02:07fire.
02:08For there is a child born for us, a son given to us, a dominion is laid on his shoulders,
02:15and this is the name they give him, wonder, counselor, mighty God, eternal Father, Prince
02:23of Peace.
02:24Why is his dominion in a peace that has no end?
02:29For the throne of David and for his royal power, which he establishes and makes secure
02:36in justice and integrity.
02:39From this time onward and forever, the jealous love of the Lord of Hosts will do this.
02:47Because the word of the Lord thanks be to God, blessed be the name of the Lord forever.
02:55Blessed be the name of the Lord forever.
02:59Praise, O servants of the Lord, praise the name of the Lord.
03:02May the name of the Lord be blessed both now and forevermore.
03:07Blessed be the name of the Lord forever.
03:10From the rising of the sun to its setting, praise be the name of the Lord.
03:14High above all nations is the Lord, above the heavens his glory.
03:19Blessed be the name of the Lord forever.
03:23Who is like the Lord, our God, who has risen on high to be strong, yet stoops from the
03:28heights to look down upon heaven and earth.
03:33Blessed be the name of the Lord forever.
03:36From the dust he lifts up the lowly, from the dark he erases the poor, to set him in
03:42the company of princes, yes, with the princes of his people.
03:47Blessed be the name of the Lord forever.
03:51Alleluia, alleluia.
03:54Hail Mary full of grace, the Lord is with you.
03:57Blessed are you among women, alleluia.
04:02The Lord be with you.
04:04A reading from the Holy Gospel according to Luke.
04:07Glory to you, O Lord.
04:09The angel Gabriel was sent by God to a town in Galilee called Nazareth, to a virgin be
04:15thrown to a man named Joseph of the house of David, and the virgin's name was Mary.
04:21He went in and said to her, Rejoice, O highly favored, the Lord is with you.
04:27She was deeply disturbed by these words and asked herself what the greeting could mean.
04:33But the angel said to her, Mary, do not be afraid, you have won God's favor, listen,
04:40you are to conceive and bear a son, and you must name him Jesus, he will be great and
04:45will be God's son of the Most High.
04:48The Lord God will give him the throne of his ancestor David, he will rule over the house
04:53of Jacob forever, and his reign will have no end.
04:58Mary said to the angel, But how can this come about, since I am a virgin?
05:04The Holy Spirit will come upon you, the angel answered, and the power of the Most High will
05:09cover you with his shadow, and so the child will be holy and will be called son of God.
05:16Know this too, your kinswoman Elizabeth has in her old age herself conceived a son, and
05:23she whom people call barren is now in her sixth month, for nothing is impossible to
05:28God.
05:30I am the handmaid of the Lord, said Mary, let what you have said be done to me.
05:36And the angel left her.
05:40The Gospel of the Lord.
05:43Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ.
05:48Let what you have said be done to me.
05:51Mary united her heart totally to the will of God.
05:55A wonderful example, friend, mother, and helper, encouraging us to do likewise.
06:02When we say yes to God, when we trust God fully, then great things happen, more than
06:08we can dream or imagine.
06:11Then we are true to ourselves, who we are really meant to be.
06:21Blessed are you, Lord God of all creation, for through your goodness we have this bread
06:25to offer which earth has given you, man has made.
06:28It will become for us the bread of life.
06:30Blessed be God forever.
06:41Blessed are you, Lord God of all creation, for through your goodness we have this wine
06:58to offer, fruit of divine work of human hands.
07:01It will become us the ritual drink.
07:04Blessed be God forever.
07:11Let us pray, brothers and sisters, that my sacrifice and yours may be acceptable to God
07:20our Almighty Father.
07:21May the Lord accept this sacrifice at our hands, for the praise and glory of God's
07:26name, for our good and the good of God's holy Church.
07:32As we observe the memorial of the Blessed Virgin Mary, we bring you our offering, O
07:37Lord, praying to be given strength by the humanity of Christ, who offered himself to
07:42you on the cross, as the unblemished oblation, who lives and reigns forever and ever.
07:48Amen.
08:00The Lord be with you.
08:02Lift up your hearts.
08:03Let us give thanks to the Lord, our God.
08:07It is truly right and just, much more than a duty and good for our salvation, always
08:12and everywhere to give you thanks, Lord, Holy Father Almighty and Eternal God, and to praise,
08:18bless, and glorify your name on this feast of our Blessed Virgin Mary.
08:23For by the overshadowing of the Holy Spirit, she conceived your only begotten Son, and
08:29without losing the glory of virginity, brought forth into the world the eternal light, Jesus
08:35Christ, your Son.
08:37Through him the angels praise you, dominions adore and powers tremble before you.
08:42Heaven and the virtues of heaven and the blessed seraphim worship together with exultation.
08:48May our voices, we pray, join with theirs in a humble praise as we acclaim, Holy, Holy,
08:56Holy Lord God of hosts, heaven and earth are full of your glory.
09:00Hosanna in the highest.
09:02Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.
09:05Hosanna in the highest.
09:08You are indeed holy, O Lord, the fount of all holiness.
09:11Make holy, therefore, these gifts, we pray, by sending down your Spirit upon them like
09:16did you before, that they may become for us the body and blood of our Lord Jesus Christ.
09:22At the time he was betrayed and entered willingly into his passion, he took a break,
09:28and giving thanks, broke it, and gave it to his disciples, saying,
09:34Take this, all of you, and eat of it, for this is my body, which will be given up for
09:40you.
09:47In a similar way, when supper was ended, he took the chalice, and once more giving thanks,
09:53and once more giving thanks, he gave it to his disciples, saying,
09:58Take this, all of you, and drink from it, for this is the chalice of my blood, the blood
10:04of the new and eternal covenant, which will be poured out for you and for many for the
10:11forgiveness of sins.
10:13Do this in memory of me.
10:15The mystery of faith.
10:23When we eat this bread and drink this cup, we proclaim your death, O Lord, until you
10:29come again.
10:31Therefore, as we celebrate the memorial of his death and resurrection, we offer you,
10:36Lord, the bread of life and the chalice of salvation, giving thanks that you have held
10:41us worthy to be in your presence and minister to you.
10:45Humbly we pray that, partaking of the body and blood of Christ, we may be gathered into
10:51one by the Holy Spirit.
10:53Remember, Lord, your Church, spread throughout the world, and bring her to the fullness of
10:58charity, together with Francis our Pope, me, your unworthy servant, Eugene, our America's
11:05bishop, all the clergy, all who serve your people, and your entire family, that your
11:12Son has came for you.
11:14Remember also our brothers and sisters who have fallen asleep in the hope of the resurrection,
11:20and all who have died in your mercy.
11:23Welcome them into the light of your face.
11:26Have mercy on us all, we pray, that with the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of God, Blessed
11:32Joseph, her spouse, with the blessed apostles and all the saints who have pleased you throughout
11:38the ages, we may, through your grace, merit to be coerced to eternal life, and may praise
11:44and glorify you through your Son, Jesus Christ.
11:51Through him, and with him, and in him, O God, Almighty Father, in the unity of the Holy
11:56Spirit, all glory and honour is yours for ever and ever.
12:00Amen.
12:02Let us now pray the prayer that Jesus taught us.
12:06Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done
12:13on earth as it is in heaven.
12:16Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who
12:22trespass against us.
12:24And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
12:27Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil.
12:30Graciously grant peace in our days, that by the help of your mercy we may be always free
12:36from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our
12:40Saviour, Jesus Christ.
12:43For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours, now and for ever.
12:48Lord Jesus Christ, we say to your apostles, peace I leave you, my peace I give you.
12:54Look not on our sins, but on the faith of your Church, and graciously grant her peace
12:58and unity in accordance with your will, who live and reign for ever and ever.
13:03Amen.
13:04The peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you always.
13:07Let us offer each other a sign of peace.
13:10Peace be with you all.
13:12Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world, have mercy on us.
13:19Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world, have mercy on us.
13:26Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world, grant us peace.
13:40Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world, have mercy on us.
13:47Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world.
13:50Happy are those who are called to the supper of the Lamb.
13:54Lord, I am not worthy that you should enter under my roof, but only say the word and my
13:58soul shall be healed.
14:01My Jesus, I believe that you are present in the most blessed sacrament.
14:06I love you above all things and I desire to receive you into my soul.
14:11Since I cannot now receive you sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart.
14:17I embrace you as if you were already there and unite myself wholly to you.
14:22Never permit me to be separated from you.
14:25Amen.
14:27Let us pray.
14:29Having received this heavenly sacrament, we humbly pray, Lord, that we, who reverently
14:35celebrate the memorial of the Blessed Virgin Mary, may to your grace merit to be partakers
14:40of your eternal banquet.
14:42Through Christ our Lord.
14:43Amen.
14:45The Lord be with you.
14:46And may the peace and the blessing of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit
14:50come upon you and remain always with you.
14:52Let us go and live the gospel.
14:55Thanks be to God.
14:57God bless your day.
