Kansas City Chiefs: 2024 AFC Championship Odds Favorite

00:00As we look at the odds from where we were entering last year, to where we are entering this year, that's 2023 last year, 2024 this year, there was that big three component, the Chiefs, the Bills, the Bengals, the three teams that had been flirting with conference championships the last three years, really three, four years in the AFC, the Chiefs were the favorites then, the Chiefs have the same exact number now at plus 350.
00:28And frankly, how could you bet against Kansas City?
00:31There's not a miss AFC championship game number that is available.
00:36It would just be not betting that short price of plus 350, but in all six years that Patrick Mahomes has been the starting quarterback in Kansas City, the Chiefs have made it to the AFC championship game in four of those six years.
00:50They have won a conference championship in three of those four.
00:54They have won a Lombardi trophy.
00:56So KC still stands tall atop the AFC championship odds.
01:01And they should be.
01:02And I say this, and you're not supposed to be this as an independent handicapper and try to think about what's going to take place this season, as opposed to what happened in the past.
01:10But I still can't get around this.
01:12That Chiefs run last year on probably the least talented team that they had was the most impressive.
01:18So now I'm looking at the Chiefs this season as being more talented than last year and beat the Miami Dolphins at home, which again, the Dolphins were banged up.
01:25That game was like minus 35 degrees.
01:27But then you go on the road to Buffalo, on the road to the Baltimore, or excuse me, Buffalo, Baltimore, and then beat San Francisco in the Super Bowl.
01:34Like, why not?
01:35Like, why isn't that price?
01:36I probably would bite on bet a minus 350 price for the Chiefs to win the Super Bowl.
01:40That's how much confidence I just have is, oh, is Mahomes playing today?
01:43Yeah, they're better.
01:44Well, wait, Donnie.
01:45The other team has better running backs, better wide receivers, better linemen, and a better defense.
01:48I don't care.
01:49One team has Patrick Mahomes.
01:50That's the only thing that matters.
01:52So you see 2023 and now 2024.
01:55I completely agree.
01:56Until Patrick Mahomes and or Andy Reid is out of football, they will be the favorite every single year.

02:05Because they have the best player on the planet and the best coach for him, and that's all that matters.
02:09If my quarterback is so much better than yours, it doesn't matter who's on your defense whatsoever.
02:14He's going to score and he's going to win.
