00:00The individual race for the
00:08hardware, the NFL MVP odds
00:10updated after week number two.
00:12Like, come on, man. Look at the
00:14odds right now, Rene. Just
00:15don't even look at our faces.
00:16Put the odds up on the board.
00:17Plus 260 for Patrick Mahomes.
00:21Sure, he threw for 290 in the
00:22season opener against Baltimore.
00:24One touchdown, one
00:25interception, and a costly one
00:27that he threw for a buck 55
00:29yards and two INTs on Sunday.
00:32Listen, Patrick Mahomes, who has
00:34two MVP awards, most recently in
00:372022, you have voter fatigue
00:39working against the guy that has
00:41always been at the top of these
00:43odds.
00:44For a team that were kind of
00:45fatigued by trying to win a
00:47Super Bowl, there's no reason
00:48Mahomes should be nearly half
00:50the price of everybody else in
00:52the National Football League at
00:53plus 260 following two weeks.
00:56He hasn't even been all that
00:57statistically great by his own
00:58ridiculous standards or even by
01:00pretty average standards of an
01:02MVP contender in the National
01:03Football League.
01:04Right.
01:05And but, you know, the book also
01:07knows that everybody is going to
01:09paint him like they painted the
01:11Brady brush, right?
01:12Like, ultimately, they expect
01:14Mahomes to be there in the end
01:17and get every vote, all the
01:20headlines, everything goes his
01:22way.
01:23It's all, you know, we said we
01:25had to do it.
01:26How long now with Brady?
01:27We died to go 20 years having to
01:29deal with this same kind of crap
01:31with Brady.
01:32And now we just said, well,
01:33congratulations.
01:34We got another decade and a half
01:36of Patrick Mahomes.
01:37Get used to it.
01:38Always going to be overvalued in
01:41any futures market when it comes
01:43to player awards.
01:45We know this, unfortunately, Ben.
01:47Rene, do you know who the four
01:48quarterbacks are that have thrown
01:50from four more touchdowns this
01:52season?
01:53Because I'll tell you, if we're
01:54going to use those stats as a way
01:56to consider MVP contenders,
01:58Derek Carr and Baker Mayfield,
02:00each five touchdown tosses.
02:02Sam Darnold and Kyler Murray,
02:04each four touchdown tosses.
02:07Are they legitimate MVP
02:09contenders following only two
02:11weeks?
02:12Well, if Derek Carr and the
02:15Saints, who we both believe in
02:17Clint Kubiak and what this
02:19offense is doing because of the
02:21weapons that they have, if
02:23they're going to average 40-some
02:25odd points, 35 or more points a
02:27game, then he's very much in the
02:30conversation for, because they
02:32don't do that without Derek Carr.
02:34This isn't the Alvin Kamara show
02:35rushing the ball.
02:36That's a passing offense and a
02:38real one at that, Ben.
