00:00Good morning to all of you, and here is our weather update for August 21, 2024.

00:08In our latest satellite images, we can see that the southwest monsoon, or Hanging Habagat,

00:14is already affected, particularly here in the northern part of our country.

00:17It has almost no effect on our rivers.

00:21Meanwhile, the low-pressure area that we monitored yesterday,

00:25is outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility.

00:28It will not affect our country.

00:30And even now, there is still a small chance that it will become a storm.

00:33So for now, the easterlies, or the wind that comes from the Pacific Ocean,

00:38from the east, is the one that is most affected,

00:41particularly here in the area of the eastern Visayas,

00:44as well as the eastern Mindanao.

00:46So today, we expect that a large part of our rivers will experience generally fair weather.

00:52It will still be hot and sunny, especially in the area of Luzon,

00:56while there is a high chance of rain, lightning, and thunderstorms.

01:03We can also see that until the end of this week,

01:06on Friday, the Hanging Habagat will continue to be weak,

01:10and it is possible that it will return to the weekend,

01:12on Sunday, it will affect the May area of Mindanao.

01:16So generally, until the end of this week,

01:18for our upcoming long weekend, fair weather in a large part of our country,

01:23there is still a small chance that there will be a storm in the next few days.

01:30Here in Luzon, we can see that a large part of Luzon

01:34will experience hot and sunny weather,

01:36while there is a high chance of rain from the afternoon until the evening.

01:40So we should still be careful and be prepared for possible localized thunderstorms.

01:46we can expect high temperatures in Lawag at 26 to 33 degrees Celsius,

01:50in Tagaytay, 24 to 34 degrees Celsius,

01:52while in Baguio, up to 25 degrees Celsius.

01:59in Tagaytay, 23 to 32 degrees Celsius,

02:29in Cebu, up to 32 degrees Celsius,

02:32while in Tacloban, 27 to 33 degrees Celsius.

02:37A large part of Mindanao will experience isolated rain showers and thunderstorms,

02:41from dusk to dusk,

02:44especially in the eastern section of Mindanao, the Caragat-Davao region.
