00:00The effects of the two weather systems in our country are still ongoing.
00:05The first is the shear line and the northeast monsoon.
00:08The northeast monsoon has an effect on the northern part of Northern Luzon,
00:13while the shear line, or the line where the wind comes from the northern portion of our country,
00:19and also here in Silangan,
00:21so as long as it's a cold northeast monsoon and hot easterly,
00:24it will still cause rain in some parts of Northern Luzon.
00:28Based on our latest satellite animation,
00:30we don't expect a storm to enter our Philippine area of responsibility within the next five days,
00:36but we're still not losing the chance that there will be a whole low-pressure area in Silangan, Mindanao,
00:42along the intertropical convergence zone here in Silangan, Mindanao.
00:48Because of the effect of the northeast monsoon,
00:50we still expect a dark weather and there will be a weak rain here in Batanes,
00:55while the shear line will affect Cagayan, Isabela, and a large part of the Cordillera Administrative Region.
01:01So it means that there will still be heavy rains and thunderstorms there,
01:05so be careful of possible floods and landslides.
01:09The remaining part of Northern Luzon, particularly in Ilocos Region,
01:13will also be affected by the northeast monsoon,
01:15so our temperatures there are also a bit low,
01:18and there will only be a light rain,
01:20while Central and Southern Luzon, including Metro Manila,
01:23will still have a part of clouds and a part of cloudy skies.
01:27Most of our rains will be in Quezon, Aurora, and Bicol Region as early as this morning,
01:33and there will only be dry rains for the rest of Central and Southern Luzon.
01:38Our temperature in Metro Manila is from 24 to 32 degrees Celsius,
01:42and in Baguio City, it's still cold from 17 to 22 degrees Celsius.
01:48For our fellow citizens in Palawan and a large part of Visayas,
01:51there will still be a part of clouds and a part of cloudy skies,
01:54especially in the eastern and central portions of Visayas,
01:57and it will still be accompanied by dry rains.
02:00Usually, it will only last for 1 to 2 hours,
02:03but because of the localized thunderstorms, it will usually last until the afternoon.
02:07Our temperature in a large part of Visayas is from 26 to 32 degrees Celsius,
02:12and the maximum temperature in Palawan Region is also up to 32 degrees.
02:17For our fellow citizens in Mindanao, there are still fair weather conditions in many areas.
02:22There are also areas where it's just morning and the weather is a bit gloomy,
02:25but even if it rains, it won't last long.
02:28By the afternoon and evening, there will be more places in Mindanao,
02:32especially in the central part, where there will be isolated rain showers or thunderstorms
02:37that usually don't last long.
02:39For our fellow citizens here in Mezambuanga City and Davao City,
02:43our temperature in the afternoon can rise up to 34 degrees Celsius.
02:53For our coastal areas, we still don't have a high-level gale warning,
02:57but because of the north-east monsoon,
02:59we still have a bit of a flurry of coastal areas in the northern Luzon,
03:03up to 3.4 meters, or almost on the same level as the high-rise buildings.
03:09It's still dangerous for small sea vessels.
03:11While in the central Luzon, down to Mindanao,
03:14our fellow citizens there are generally allowed to go up to half to one meter,
03:19and if there are thunderstorms, it's possible to go up to two and a half meters.
03:25And for our three-day weather forecast,
03:27over this weekend, it will still be raining in many areas of our country.
03:30Our shoreline is rising, so we will still expect scattered rains and thunderstorms
03:35in Batanes and Baboyan Islands.
03:38While a large part of Eastern Visayas and Mindanao
03:41expect more chance of rain.
03:43It's not continuous, but sometimes it's strong.
03:46So make sure, over this weekend,
03:48to include the rain in our plans
03:51and bring an umbrella as a precaution against rain.
03:56For the day of Monday, December 9,
03:58there are still areas where there will be scattered rains and thunderstorms.
04:02This is because of the shoreline, or the cold and hot easterlies.
04:07This shoreline will be affected the most by Monday.
04:11And for the next few days, next week,
04:13the northern Luzon, the eastern part of the central Luzon and southern Luzon,
04:18as well as Aurora, Quezon, and a large part of Bicol Region,
04:22even the northern Samar,
04:24will also have a high chance of rain early next week.
04:27So make sure that we have an umbrella,
04:29and be careful of floods and landslides.
