00:00Summer is a busy time on the island of Sodor.
00:05Holidaymakers have so much to see and do.
00:09There are trips to the seaside,
00:13balloon rides in the country,
00:18and a brass band playing.
00:24One morning, Edward was in a hurry.
00:27He didn't even stop to say hello to Stepney.
00:33Thomas was pleased to see Edward.
00:36Your smile's as broad as your smokebox.
00:39I'm on my way to pick up the brass band, replied Edward.
00:43The concert is tomorrow night.
00:45Don't crack your smokebox, teased Thomas.
00:50Edward couldn't wait to hear the brass band play their wonderful music.
00:57He was so excited about meeting the brass band that he didn't notice the giant crane.
01:03It was unloading a huge ship's boiler.
01:07Suddenly, the crane swung the boiler and knocked Edward right off the track.
01:16Cranky had been watching.
01:18You useless little engines are always in the way.
01:22Poor Edward.
01:25The fat controller came immediately.
01:29We will take you to the fitter's yard,
01:31and Bertie will have to meet the brass band instead of you.
01:35Edward was sad.
01:41That night, a raging storm rolled in.
01:47The fitters worked through the night trying to mend Edward.
01:51The rain pelted down.
01:54Now Edward felt sad and very damp.
01:59Morning came, and the fat controller arrived.
02:03Please, sir, pleaded Edward.
02:06Will the fitters be finished soon?
02:08Not soon enough, and the band can't wait.
02:11I'm sorry, Edward. Bertie will take them to the concert.
02:15Edward felt worse than ever.
02:19Bertie collected the brass band and set off immediately.
02:25He bumped cheerfully along the country roads.
02:29But there was trouble ahead.
02:31Last night's storm had flooded the road.
02:41Bertie's driver decided to take a shortcut.
02:45But it was very muddy.
02:56Bertie's wheels did not like the mud.
02:59They scooted, they skated, they slid, they slipped.
03:05I'm stuck, he groaned.
03:09Bertie revved his engine, but his wheels spun round and round.
03:14He couldn't budge.
03:17The brass band were worried.
03:19We mustn't be late for our concert.
03:21Tune up your tuba, cried the leader of the band.
03:24We'll call for help.
03:27By now Edward was mended and hooked up to his coaches.
03:31I can hear music, said his driver.
03:35That's not music, wheezed Edward.
03:38That's an alarm.
03:40And they raced off to the rescue.
03:45MUSIC
03:53The musicians were delighted to see their old friend.
03:58So was Bertie.
04:00I'll get you to the concert in time, Edward cried.
04:04Thank you, said the worried bandsman.
04:15WHISTLING
04:18That night the concert was a great success.
04:22Everyone loved the music.
04:27Especially Edward.
