00:00The National Water Services Commission says local laws were breached in the water pollution
00:07incident last month that led to hundreds of areas in the Klang Valley experiencing water
00:12cuts.
00:14SPAN chairman Charles Santiago told FMT that this was uncovered after a site visit to a
00:20factory linked to the incident as part of a three-day inquiry by the commission.
00:26He added that SPAN is trying to bring together all relevant parties and government agencies
00:32to get a sense of what transpired in the incident and to ensure that it does not happen again.
00:38However, he declined to disclose further details, saying the commission would release a full
00:43report on the pollution incident next week.
00:46On July 23, four water treatment plants were temporarily shut down after odor pollution
00:52was detected at Sungai Kundang and Sungai Sembah.
00:56Multiple parts of Kuala Lumpur, Petaling, Klang, Sia Alam, Gombak, Hulus Langor and
01:01Kuala Selangor experienced unscheduled water disruptions as a result.
