00:24I'm Evan Marinovsky.
00:25That is Connor Ryan.
00:26Connor, what is up?
00:28Evan, I'm doing well.
00:30How you doing?
00:31Doing great.
00:32Doing great.
00:33I want to give a shout out start.
00:35My men's league team, the Lizards, we're moving on to the championship, baby.
00:39Second straight season, we're moving on the championship.
00:40I missed the championship in the spring due to the Bruins and the Leafs.
00:46We lost that game.
00:47So hoping to hoping to reverse course in this championship next week.
00:51So shout out the Lizards in Wellesley.
00:55And yeah, so I'm doing great.
00:56I'm tired, but doing great, doing great.
01:00You're off to Patriots.
01:01You've been doing a bunch of Patriots recently, right?
01:03Yes.
01:04Evan, that team's going to be really bad this year.
01:07Not much else needs to be said, which is they are going to sink, which after Judon was traded
01:12was at Wednesday night.
01:14I feel like it's going to be a long fall in Foxport.
01:17People like, well, they're going to suck anyway.
01:19They're going to win like fucking two games.
01:21That O-line is so goddamn bad.
01:23You guys are it's I was talking to a few people today.
01:27I think bad football, like not like, you know, you come up just short and some of these games
01:32like just broken offensive football might be the thing in sports that I dislike the
01:39most.
01:40Like, I would be like, maybe like really bad, like pitching really bad bullpen will drive
01:44you crazy.
01:45But like broken off runs, at least if the game is like, you know, 11 to 7, it's like
01:51there's action.
01:52I would say for baseball, it's more like, you know, just a lot of pop outs and ground
01:56outs.
01:57And it's like zero zero in the eighth with like two hits apiece.
01:59I would put that on par with like, like in football.
02:02I was over at the joint practices with the Eagles, and I know there was a lot said from
02:06all people who know more about football than myself about how bad it looked.
02:10Holy shit.
02:11Better change.
02:12Yes.
02:13If not, holy shit.
02:14Thankfully, we're all on the Bruins side.
02:20You listeners don't have to put yourself through the Patriots misery every week and the Bruins
02:25will actually be good.
02:26I mean, did you see that stat?
02:27I don't know.
02:28I don't know if you saw this on Twitter.
02:29You might have been on your honeymoon.
02:30I don't know.
02:31I don't know what the the Internet was like in in Tanzania, but they had a stat that was
02:36like highest winning percentage, I think, since 2020 per city.
02:42And Boston was number one.
02:44And think about how bad the Red Sox, just the Celtics and Bruins is carrying the way
02:48That's it.
02:49They've carried the city like the Patriots have sucked since 2020.
02:53The Red Sox have had a year that was good, but a bunch of other bad years.
02:57And it was Celtics and Bruins.
02:59And that's going to be this offseason.
03:01The Red Sox, thankfully, are like, OK, I mean, they will rip your heart out.
03:05But, you know, they but still the Bruins and the Celtics will carry this offseason.
03:11And thankfully for us, Connor, the Bruins should be good if they're bad.
03:16If we're going to have a big problem, we're going to have a very big problem if the Bruins
03:21are bad.
03:22But I don't think that's going to be the case.
03:24So why don't we talk about some veterans?
03:26We've talked a lot about prospects.
03:28I know you have a story coming.
03:30You talked to Johnny Beecher, Mason Lowry Thursday.
03:35And so I know you'll have a story coming on that.
03:37Probably, you know, interesting stuff.
03:39So I encourage everyone to go check that out at Boston dot com.
03:42But the veterans, the vets.
03:44We have not discussed the vets in a while.
03:46And one person that, you know, I kind of mentioned back, I think we were doing like predictions.
03:54I mentioned Brad Marchand as someone I saw, you know, continuing to trend down, not saying
04:01he's going to be terrible.
04:02He's going to be he's going to be like benched by like November.
04:04Freaking crazy, man.
04:05Like, you're going to be out of it.
04:08But but but honestly, like, I do think that, you know, but I also think it depends who
04:13he plays with.
04:15I think he's up with that first line with Lindholm and Pasternak.
04:17I think those numbers are still, you know, top line numbers.
04:20I think he's down with Coyle, though.
04:21It's a different story.
04:22But what are your expectations for Brad Marchand?
04:24Yeah, it's going to be interesting to see just how he continues to develop and evolve,
04:29because you said maybe look at his numbers last year and he won.
04:31I think it was like 67 points second on the team in scoring, played in all 82 games.
04:39And again, as you said, where he kind of fits in the line and maybe will dictate what
04:44his baseline production is, because you can make the case, as you said, if he's with,
04:49you know, Lindholm and Pasternak, you could be a guy that ends up being a point per game
04:54guy if you just stay with that line.
04:56But if he's with, you know, Coyle and insert player here, right, Geeky, Frederick, Lysell,
05:05and that's kind of more of a especially if it's one of those first two guys, if it's
05:08more of a like two way shutdown role, if Marchand, who even maybe his scoring is dipped
05:15a little bit, still has that really strong two way defensive game and he complements
05:19Coyle well, and they can kind of be a shutdown guy and Marchand gives you 60 points.
05:25I think you take that for what his role is like, again, when you look at, you know, where
05:30he is at this stage of his career, still a very, very good player, you know, a few years
05:35removed from double hip surgery, which, again, he's mentioned, has prolonged his career,
05:39but still there is a toll to be paid with going through those kinds of procedures.
05:45I just think you look at where he is.
05:48You have to set the right expectations.
05:49I don't know if he's going to have a 40 goal year, a 90 point season, an 80, 85 point season
05:55or anything like that.
05:56But for what the Bruins need from him at this stage of his career to be a guy that can play
06:03a strong two way game, can inject some energy, which is what he's done throughout his career.
06:09Bring their passion on the ice.
06:11I don't think that's really going to change.
06:12So and I think you look at the way the Bruins are right now.
06:16Listen, would they would they love to have 30 year old Marchand, the guy that, you know,
06:20had 100 point season?
06:21Of course they would.
06:23But when you look at kind of the supporting cast and the guys around him, they do have
06:28guys that can kind of shoulder some of that scoring burden, even if, you know, Marchand
06:32is maybe aging out of that 35 goal kind of threshold he used to be in.
06:39But still a guy that I think what NHL ranked him as a top 20 wing in the league still.
06:44I think when you look at especially his defensive game, he still brings so much to the ice,
06:49even if maybe his stats are going to slip a little bit.
06:52But I'm not expecting like he's going to be hitting a wall and it's got 44 points or something
06:57like that.
06:58Or, you know, I don't think we're hitting that yet.
07:00And I'd be very shocking if it did, if that did happen this upcoming year.
07:03Yeah, I don't think that's on the table at all.
07:06I'm with you.
07:07I think if he's up with that top line, I think you can expect 70 plus points.
07:10Like I think if he's, you know, because the power play is going to be better.
07:13We said all the things we said about Elias Lindholm, I think can be applied to Marchand,
07:17right?
07:18The power play is going to be better.
07:19So you have more points there.
07:20If he's on that top line, they are going to be better.
07:22I think the real question is if he's down with Coyle and Lysell or Gigi or Frederick,
07:28that's where you sort of wonder like, okay, is it, you know, is it 65 points?
07:32Is it 60?
07:33Like, what is the realistic goal there?
07:36And I still think that's fine production from the second line.
07:38He's 36 years old.
07:39Like I think that's still really good.
07:41You take that.
07:42Um, I think those are fair expectations.
07:44Now, if he's up on that top line and he's not producing, then you have an issue, right?
07:48Like, or if he's 44 points on the second line, then you also have an issue.
07:52But I do think somewhere, yeah, that's not great.
07:56I do think somewhere in that sweet spot though, of, you know, 60 to 75 points, depending on
08:01where he's playing in the lineup.
08:02And I also just think, you know, his ability to create chances for himself, his ability,
08:06uh, protect pucks along the wall, like all those things.
08:09I still think that's still all there, the fire, the compete, that stuff, that's all
08:13there.
08:14Um, so I, I have him somewhere around there.
08:16I just think it depends again, like who is he playing with?
08:20And we won't really know until training camp.
08:21I think everyone kind of assumed that Zaka would go up with a Lindholm and Poshnok.
08:25And I, and I assume we will definitely see that.
08:27Um, but I also think they might want to go with a super line.
08:31They might want to go with, Hey, we're going to, you know, optimize Brad Martian to his
08:34fullest capabilities.
08:35And, uh, you know, we're going to keep a coil on the, you know, and I, and this is another
08:40thing, right?
08:41Like, and we talked about this with prospects, like, is there a world in which like, let's
08:45say, uh, Georgie Murkuloff has a phenomenal, phenomenal training camp, right?
08:50Like, let's say he just wows everybody and it's like, all right, we can't put him back
08:55in Providence.
08:56We can't put them in the bottom six, maybe a stick them as the left wing on the second
09:00line with coil.
09:01And, and again, I I'm, I'm speaking in hypotheticals here.
09:04I'm not saying that that's going to happen, but it could like, again, Murkuloff coil,
09:09myself, Murkuloff coil, geeky.
09:11Um, and again, it's hard to imagine, you know, Montgomery, uh, thrusting a guy like Murkuloff
09:16straight into the top six, but you never know, like we, that could be a training camps.
09:19I think that is a training camp storyline to watch.
09:22Uh, so, you know, I think we're all under, you know, we're all operating under the assumption
09:25that Pavel Zaka is going to be on the wing and I think he probably will be, but I think
09:29we should also consider some scenarios in which maybe he's down the middle and, you
09:34know, coil, maybe he's either on the wing or he's the third line center.
09:37You have a lot of third line centers, but I think we have to consider all our options
09:40here.
09:41Yeah.
09:42And I mean, I think you look at just the luxury of the Bruins have with a guy like David Pasternak,
09:46who I think is proven now you can drive play and play with pretty much anyone.
09:51And it makes a lot of sense, right?
09:52That you're going to put Elias Lindholm with him.
09:54This is a guy in Lindholm who, again, I think it's easy to chart out his floor, but the
09:58Bruins are expecting more from him.
10:00Are they expecting the 40 goal Lindholm from, um, you know, uh, that one year in Calgary?
10:07Probably not.
10:08But listen, the rationale is they're sticking with Pasternak and maybe we have a 70 point
10:13two way potential Selke, uh, uh, candidate there and it goes to whoever's on that left
10:18wing.
10:19Right.
10:20So I think it's a good case where it is Martian and you bump up his numbers, but you can also
10:24look at it with, uh, you know, with Martian where I think he's got such a, an easy floor
10:29to kind of map out where the Bruins can be like, all right, we'll take Martian at, you
10:33know, a 60 point Martian playing good two way game with, uh, with coil and whoever else,
10:40who do we need to put in that, you know, top line spot at left wing and get them rolling
10:44could easily make the case for it being a guy like Zaka who, again, they put in spots
10:48where they want him to succeed, but I'm with a guy like Pasternak and Lentol, having been
10:52more of a simplified shot first mentality, which they've been working on him for a while
10:57now.
10:58And if it ends up being case where a guy like Zaka, who they think has another gear to reach
11:02and you can get them to be a consistent 65 point guy, like maybe that's kind of the rationale
11:08there.
11:09I think it all comes down to who they want to put in that spot to really get more out
11:12of their game.
11:13And, um, listen, it would be good for Martian stats as he's building that Hall of Fame resume.
11:17If he has an 80 point season with those guys, but maybe his value is best on the second
11:21line and kind of more of a, a Jack of all trades, a steady role.
11:26And you give that kind of coveted spot to someone else who could use more of that offensive
11:29punch.
11:30So it's kind of luxury having a guy like Martian where, um, he can kind of be whatever you
11:34want him to be on this team.
11:36But, um, even if he's not what he was a few years ago, still a very, very good player
11:40that impacts the game in a lot of different ways.
11:42He is.
11:43And I don't, you know, when I say, uh, you know, he's going to continue to trend down.
11:48I, I don't mean, as we said, like 44 points, like it's, it's going to be somewhere in that
11:5360 point range, I think.
11:54Uh, but again, people, people age and their, their skills do decline.
11:58Like it is, it happens.
12:00It'll happen to us at some point, not anytime soon, but at some point down the road, maybe
12:05it might happen.
12:06We might lose our fastball.

13:35Now let's get back to the show.
13:36So I hope people can't hear my air conditioning.
13:39Um, I don't think you can, right?
13:41No, I can't hear it.
13:42Um, I went right for this.
13:44I went for, I made a brilliant move, went for a run and then showered.
13:48So I'm sitting here just like dripping sweat, just as it all comes out.
13:53So I was like, I need to turn my AC on.
13:55I don't care if people can hear it.
13:56Like I need to turn my AC on.
13:57I don't care if people can hear it.
13:58Like I need to turn my AC on.
13:59I don't care if people can hear it.
14:01So I was like, I need to turn my AC on.
14:02I don't care if people can hear it.
14:03Like I need to, I need the AC.
14:05Even if it was, listen, um, no, there's no need.
14:08We shouldn't be, you should be under duress while podcasting Evan.
14:11So like, yeah, yes, exactly.
14:17Um, someone else, another veteran, Hampus Lindholm.
14:20Uh, Hampus Lindholm caught a lot of crap, uh, throughout last year, uh, in the
14:24playoffs as well.
14:25Had that big goal in game seven against the Leafs, which sort of, you know,
14:28changed the narrative a bit on him.
14:29I still think when the playoffs were over, we were all kind of like, yeah,
14:32that was cool,
14:33but could have used a little bit more of that or that big kind of play on,
14:37on D, um, that 20, 22, 23 season though, for him was incredible.
14:42I mean, he stepped in for Charlie McAvoy who was hurt early and he was a
14:46terrific number one defenseman.
14:47Uh, can he get back to being that guy?
14:50I don't know if he's going to get back to being that kind of player just
14:54because, I mean, uh, the point production was obviously, uh,
14:57boosted by the power play reps.
14:59Again, you can make the argument that like a left shot guy,
15:01like Lindholm is better in that power play role.
15:04I feel like eventually down the road, like this season,
15:07if we get to January and February and they want to put a left shot guy in
15:11here, it's probably Laura's who gets those reps.
15:13But yeah, I think for Lindholm, it all comes down to,
15:17I think the Bruins are just maybe,
15:19maybe it's managing a little bit more of his deployment.
15:21Uh, and I think he's really good with Carlo and I imagine that's going to
15:26be the second pairing.
15:27But I also view Lindholm as a guy that, again,
15:30I think when he's at his best, he's not probably not a 50 point guy,
15:34but he can kind of be that jack of all trades player that, um,
15:38can inject a little offense,
15:40can play a steady defensive game while giving you 20 minutes a night.
15:43Not a lot of guys can do that.
15:45So he has a lot of value there,
15:46but he also shouldn't be the guy that's getting 25% ozone reps.
15:51And maybe, you know, the fact that, um, and again,
15:54I think a guy like Carlo can do that.
15:56And that's why he brings so much value.
15:58But even if you're a lightning network a little, a little bit,
16:01and it's, I don't know, 38%,
16:04and you're giving a few more of those D zone reps to Zdorov,
16:07McAvoy line and balancing it out.
16:09I think even if maybe, you know, you're looking at, uh, you know,
16:13freeing up McAvoy a little bit more, I think, you know, you know,
16:16evening out those D zone reps should help Lindholm.
16:20Again, is he going to be what he was two years ago and a Norris finalist,
16:23or, you know, a guy that, what is he top four or five?
16:27I think he was Norris voting a few years ago.
16:30And again, I thought he deserved it. He was, he was unreal that year.
16:33Um,
16:34but I think if you're able to lighten a little bit of those really,
16:37really taxing reps, uh,
16:39disperse it a little bit more where you give more to Zdorov or you,
16:42maybe you give more to, you know, Andrew peak and that pairing.
16:46Um,
16:47I think balancing that and just making a little bit easier for Lindholm
16:51should get more out of him in terms of what he can provide. As you said,
16:54that game seven, where he's, uh, scores that goal,
16:58he sets up Posenock's play. Um, he can do a lot when he's really,
17:02you know, locked in and impacting the game that way.
17:05And I think just maybe tweaking those D zone reps maybe is what you need to
17:08do to get more out of him. Uh,
17:10and so I think it's all about setting the proper expectations.
17:13I don't know if you should expect him to be the guy he was two years ago,
17:16but I think, you know,
17:18you can skewer or maybe change some of the deployment a little bit to make
17:22life a little bit easier for him and get more returns from how he can, uh,
17:26you know, play at his best moving forward.
17:28Yeah. He came in fourth that year. I thought it was like five or six.
17:32He was four.
17:33He was Eric Carlson with 101 points is number one minus 20.
17:38That shitty Santa was 18.
17:40Yeah. They're going to be shitty again.
17:42Remember when, uh,
17:43remember that whole debate at the end of that year, Carlson versus Fox.
17:46Fox had 72 points, came in second. Um,
17:49and then Kel McCarr came in third, uh, uh,
17:52and then Hampus Lidl actually got 12 first place votes.
17:55That's pretty wild. 12 first place votes for Hampus Lidl.
17:59I voted him first.
18:01Did you really?
18:02I did. Yeah.
18:03Did we not discuss that?
18:04Yeah, I thought we did. Uh, for what do you have?
18:0750, 50 is 50 ish points for,
18:10I think a guy who's still, when you look further on,
18:13I think still had like 30% ozone deployment ruins,
18:17like had a drastic swing in terms of outscoring teams,
18:20hiding your chances again,
18:22you're in a losing battle when you have like gala Carlson and those numbers.
18:25And again, credit to him for how good he was, um,
18:29on that really shitty San Jose team to have a hundred points.
18:32But, uh, I think it's very rare where, you know,
18:35you can have a guy like McCarr, who's again,
18:38such a generational talent and defensively,
18:40the numbers are still very solid to have a guy who's, you know,
18:4450, 60 points plus, uh,
18:47top two or three percentile of limiting high danger chances goals against.
18:52You don't see that all that often. So I thought, I thought I was, uh,
18:56I had a compelling case. Um, but.
18:59Well, you did. And the other part, I know,
19:02I know that we don't usually dive into plus minuses.
19:05He was a plus 49 that year. Yeah.
19:08Yeah. It's insane. That is insane. Plus 49. Um, yeah,
19:13I I'd go back to, I don't think you need him to be what he was in 22,
19:1623. You need to find that happy medium. You need to find, cause realistically,
19:20I mean, if he can give you that awesome, you take that every time.
19:23I mean, geez. Um, but you don't, I mean, you have the door off.
19:26Now you have a low ride. Who's who's emerging. Like,
19:30I don't think you need him to be that number one guy. What you need is.
19:3535 points responsible defensively, like good on his retrievals. Um,
19:40that's what you need. And whether that's with Carlo,
19:43whether that's with McAvoy, um, that's what you need.
19:46I think that's the sweet spot expecting that.
19:49I think the more we see Lindholm,
19:51I think that year may have been an outlier in terms of opportunity in terms
19:54of different things, but I don't think he's far away from it.
19:58I mean, I know his stock was so low in those playoffs.
20:01I remember, uh,
20:02doing those postgame shows with Carl Corzine and we were like,
20:04personally I think it's like a no move or a no trade. Um,
20:07and then we were like, cause Carl was like,
20:10who would take him even if he waived it? And I was like, I don't know.
20:13But like, I mean, he's a, a good top four defenseman.
20:16Like you think someone would want that. Um, and I do think he's,
20:20I think he can be very valuable. So I think he's someone, um,
20:23that can kind of get back to that sweet spot, which, uh, which, uh,
20:26you know, is between 22, 23, 24 or 22,
20:3023 and 23, 24 for 24, 25. Uh, speaking of 24, 25,

22:45Now let's get back to the show.
22:48Let's continue.
22:49Let's continue our veteran talk.
22:51Um,
22:52what established Bruins do you think have more to give this year?
22:56I know we discussed campus Lindholm just now we discussed Brad Martian,
22:59but who else do you think sort of has more to give?
23:02I mean,
23:03I think probably one guy that is going into a pretty critical year is
23:06probably Trent Frederick.
23:07And again,
23:08it's crazy to think of him as maybe an established player now.
23:11Um,
23:12but I think you look at,
23:13um,
23:14you know,
23:16Proven,
23:17you know,
23:18top six player on the wing with Nebraska leaving.
23:20And not to say that I think Frederick's on a slot right in there to be a
23:22top six player.
23:23But if you're looking for a guy that has the bandwidth and the ability to,
23:27you know,
23:28maybe be a,
23:29a 25 goal scorer,
23:31like,
23:32I don't know if that's putting too high expectations on him,
23:34but a guy that has taken steps forward every single year,
23:37it feels like,
23:38and I think especially offensively,
23:40uh,
23:41has gotten a lot more comfortable at that side of the game.
23:43We know how good he is,
23:44you know,
23:45defensively,
23:46I think he's probably still slept on as a,
23:47a really steady defensive player,
23:49but,
23:50um,
23:51his offensive game and kind of just the little things he does that I think
23:54really gets more out of his line mates is something that's been a trend for a
23:58while now.
23:59But I think he's a guy that wherever he is,
24:02whether he makes the team,
24:04you know,
24:05if he ends up being a top six player or is kind of a main line driver on
24:08the third line,
24:09he's a guy that Bruins need to,
24:11again,
24:12take another huge,
24:13maybe not a huge step forward.
24:14I don't feel like you need to score 30 goals and Frederick,
24:16but if he continues to take those,
24:18figure out what you do.
24:19Yes.
24:20If,
24:21if he can,
24:22you know,
24:23have more to give,
24:24especially offensively,
24:25I think the Bruins will absolutely take that.
24:26And that would be a welcome,
24:27uh,
24:28addition to a team that,
24:29as you said,
24:30has a lot of middle six players,
24:32a lot of really,
24:33really good third line players.
24:34If one of these guys can take a step and be a guy that all of a sudden like
24:37this guy should be playing,
24:38you know,
24:3917,
24:4018 minutes a night up front,
24:41you absolutely would take that.
24:43Frederick's the answer.
24:45And I,
24:46cause I,
24:47you think about,
24:48you know,
24:49he's going into his contract year.
24:50Um,
24:51it's a time where he can make a lot of money.
24:52You know,
24:53if he has a,
24:54if he has a 40 or 50 point season,
24:55let's just say he is getting a lot more money than he would have before
24:58next off season.
24:59And rightfully so.
25:00Um,
25:01so he is certainly one.
25:02Um,
25:03I think,
25:04you know,
25:05he's not established,
25:06but,
25:07and,
25:08and you mentioned him a little bit earlier,
25:09we were talking about Lindholm,
25:10Andrew peak,
25:11um,
25:12he's someone else.
25:13I think that there's more to give there.
25:14Uh,
25:15we saw a little glimpse of it.
25:16He was injured for some of the playoffs.
25:17Um,
25:18so we didn't get to see a ton of it,
25:19but from what we saw,
25:21like a good third pairing,
25:23right shot,
25:24shutdown guy,
25:25that's him.
25:26And I think there's more to give of that.
25:28I think we want to see more of him doing that.
25:31And,
25:32and you know,
25:33is there any offensive upside again?
25:34I go back to what I said when he was acquired,
25:35like he was what a second round pick,
25:37uh,
25:38in 2016.
25:39So like,
25:40I think so.
25:41Yeah.
25:42Again,
25:43for a guy to go on the second round,
25:44scouts must've thought he had some sort of offensive upside,
25:46shut down,
25:47you know,
25:48true to shut down.
25:49Guys don't often go that high in the draft.
25:51Um,
25:52I know Carlo is a second round pick,
25:54but again,
25:55like,
25:56you know,
25:57usually have a little bit of an offensive upside and Hey,
25:58Brandon,
25:59Carlo,
26:00a little bit of an offensive upside every now and again,
26:01score some goals in the playoffs,
26:02right?
26:03He does exactly.
26:04Uh,
26:05the dad strength.
26:06So I do think that,
26:07that peak would be someone else.
26:08I think Morgan geeky,
26:09uh,
26:10would be an answer that some others might give.
26:11Uh,
26:12and I get it,
26:13but I also think he's sort of not overachieved last year,
26:15but I think he,
26:16he was someone that we wanted to see more out of last year.
26:18And he delivered on that in terms of playing in different places in the
26:21lineup and producing.
26:22So,
26:23you know,
26:24can Morgan geeky become a top six wing if he can,
26:26then he's the answer to that question.
26:28But I think Frederick's a little more likely just given he's internal.
26:31Um,
26:32and he's been around here for quite a while,
26:34uh,
26:35and just given his,
26:36uh,
26:38Um,
26:39on that fourth line though,
26:40um,
26:41who would you say is going to end up being the most important,
26:43uh,
26:44or impactful player on that fourth line?
26:46Yeah.
26:47I mean,
26:48there's a lot of really good options there and we don't even know what the
26:50final grouping is going to be.
26:51Cause you look at,
26:52we're a long way away from that.
26:53Yeah.
26:54But you look at like,
26:55right.
26:56Like Beecher cast like Jones,
26:57um,
26:58even like Brazzo,
26:59like one of these guys is going to be probably the odd man out there.
27:01Um,
27:02I'll probably go with,
27:03I think Max Jones has a lot to give.
27:05Um,
27:06I think especially offensively again,
27:08not a guy that I think he's going to put him in a spot and he's going to
27:10break through with,
27:11uh,
27:12uh,
27:13you know,
27:1419 goals or anything like that,
27:1535 points.
27:16But,
27:17uh,
27:18you look at,
27:19I think his production and limited roles in the past,
27:20um,
27:21his physicality,
27:22his size,
27:23his speed.
27:24Um,
27:25and I,
27:26you know,
27:27another guy that was a first round pick that I think teams saw,
27:28especially Anaheim that thought he had more to give there and had that
27:30blend of,
27:31uh,
27:32you know,
27:33scoring with size.
27:34Um,
27:35I think he's kind of the,
27:36the tone setter you kind of want on that line where I think he should be
27:38the guy that,
27:39um,
27:40should,
27:41I think drag the rest of the guys into the fight.
27:42And I think you've got two other guys that have more room to grow there
27:44and,
27:45or three guys,
27:46right.
27:47With Brezo,
27:48Beecher and Castilek.
27:49Um,
27:50but I think you'll get the guy who's,
27:51you know,
27:52game is,
27:53you know,
27:54simple and it's something you want as kind of the identity of that
27:57fourth line.
27:58I think Jones is the guy that I think really has,
28:00you know,
28:01probably the,
28:02the template to follow.
28:03And I think can kind of provide the most,
28:05at least out of the gate,
28:06but you can make the compelling case for any of those four guys.
28:09Honestly.
28:10Yeah.
28:11Jones is good one.
28:12I think fans are going to love him.
28:13I say Castilek,
28:14I think given his,
28:15uh,
28:16face-off winning abilities,
28:17uh,
28:18he's a right shot.
28:19So you get that,
28:20you know,
28:21right shot on the draw,
28:22uh,
28:23his physicality.
28:24And I hate to fighting.
28:25Like you get that end of it too,
28:26where like he's good with that stuff.
28:28Um,
28:29you know,
28:30I don't know if he's going to give you a lot offensively,
28:32but I do think like,
28:33can he turn into a potential shutdown guy?
28:35Like obviously that fourth line,
28:37the identity looks like it's going to be a speedy,
28:39you know,
28:40physical heart on the four check kind of line,
28:43but can they also go up against other teams,
28:45top guys?
28:46Can they go up against other teams,
28:47top demon?
28:48Like,
28:49I think there's a lot there and I think he can kind of help
28:51bring that.
28:52Um,
28:53you saw glimpses of it in Ottawa.
28:55And I also think like if he ends up working out,
28:57um,
28:58the old mark trade looks better.
29:00Um,
29:01now again,
29:02I'm not,
29:03you know,
29:04I don't,
29:05I don't think they're going to go back in this rabbit hole,
29:07do this again.
29:08But I,
29:09you know,
29:10I don't think,
29:11you know,
29:12Montgomery is going to keep sending them out there.
29:13Even if he stinks just to be like,
29:14we gotta,
29:15we gotta prove we won the old market trade.
29:16Um,
29:17but I do think that cast like has a lot to give.
29:20And I think him and Jones are two guys who are going to kind
29:23of give that fourth line identity.
29:25And I think that's why even now,
29:27like we don't know what the fourth line is going to be.
29:29We don't know what the set fourth line is going to be.
29:31Uh,
29:32Riley Duran is someone,
29:33you know,
29:34potentially could also make it out of campus sort of,
29:36of a young gun.
29:37Um,
29:38but with the,
29:39the acquisitions of cast like,
29:40and Jones,
29:41we,
29:42we have a pretty good idea what the identity of that line is
29:44going to be.
29:45So it makes it easier for you and I to sit here and
29:47speculate because we know what kind of guy they're going to
29:49go for in that spot.
29:50So to me,
29:51like cast like,
29:52and Jones make a lot of sense to be on that fourth
29:54line,
29:55um,
29:56come training camp and come after training camp.
29:58Lots of interesting stuff.
29:59I'm excited.
30:00Training camp is less than a month away.
30:02Pretty much now.
30:03Right?
30:04Like,
30:05so should be there soon again.
30:06Thankfully,
30:07only a couple of weeks.
30:08So captain's practices soon.
30:09Those usually start about,
30:10you know,
30:11a week or two weeks ahead of when training camp starts.
30:13So yeah,
30:14a couple of back at it tweets will be on the
30:16horizon.
30:17I've been,
30:18we're almost there.
30:19We'll need it.
30:20We'll,
30:21we'll need it.
30:22I'm excited.
30:23I,
30:24this part of the summer,
30:25I probably say this every year is weird.
30:26Like I like,
30:27this part of the summer.
30:28I really do.
30:29Um,
30:30but this part of the summer is weird.
30:31Cause it's like kind of over,
30:33you know,
30:34like I still have a trip left,
30:35which will be fun.
30:36Um,
30:37it's a weekend thing and a gun quit Maine.
30:39I,
30:40you guys know,
30:41I love Maine,
30:42love a gun quit.
30:43Um,
30:44but it's just the end,
30:45you know,
30:46and I,
30:47once I want fall to just begin,
30:48you know,
30:49I want,
30:50all right,
30:51let's dive into fall.
30:52Let's dive into all the fun stuff there.
30:53So just,
30:54I don't know.
30:55I told you August.
30:56This is like a mid tier.
30:57It's a mid tier month.
30:58So you get to this point of August.
30:59It's like the end of Lord of the Rings,
31:00return of the King.
31:01You're just waiting for it to end.
31:02You're like,
31:03all right,
31:04this is going another 40 minutes.
31:05I'm like,
31:06it,
31:07the final act is over.
31:08I,
31:09I've never seen Lord of the Rings,
31:10but I'll take your word for it.
31:11Um,
31:12like the Godfather,
31:13it's like the Godfather.
31:14When you with Diver and he was the Godfather.
31:15And you were like,
31:16you were just,
31:17you were like a tugboat in the middle of the mess.
31:18You had no idea what he was talking about.
31:19Like,
31:20yeah,
31:21of course.
31:22You know,
31:24when you're in a conversation with someone,
31:25you don't want us.
31:26Yeah.
31:27Oh yeah.
31:28Papa Mia.
31:29Yes.
31:30That's exactly what happens.
31:31But it wasn't the Rizzler and big justice.
31:32They were in the Godfather,
31:33right?
31:34The Costco guys.
31:35Now you have me lost.
31:36I,
31:37let me tell you something.
31:38I feel better about myself that I don't know who the fuck the Rizzler is.
31:39As opposed to you not knowing.
31:40That's a damn shame.
31:41That's on you for not knowing who the Rizzler is.
31:42That's really sad.
31:43Actually.
31:44I would,
31:45I'd rather know the Rizzler than the Godfather.
31:46Okay.
31:47It's just,
31:49that's,
31:50that's 25 year old me talking.
31:51It's sad.
31:52We'll clip that.
31:53We'll clip that and tweet this out a little later.
31:54I will say my friends and I,
31:55we had a golf tournament for charity last weekend and we had a foursome.
31:56It was really fun.
31:57And,
31:58uh,
31:59do you know what brain rot is?
32:00It's like,
32:01like the Rizzler.
32:02It's like the stuff that like kids are saying on Tik TOK and stuff.
32:03And they do.
32:04Well,
32:05anyways,
32:06it exists.
32:07And we were joking about it.
32:08We were joking about it.
32:09We were joking about it.
32:10We were joking about it.
32:11We were joking about it.
32:12We were joking about it.
32:13We were joking about it.
32:14We were joking about it.
32:15We were joking about it.
32:16Well,
32:17anyways,
32:18it exists.
32:19And we were joking.
32:20We say it to each other like the entire time.
32:21And it's sad.
32:22Cause like,
32:23even though we say it as a joke,
32:24we probably know just as much as like the freaking kids do.
32:26Like it's not good.
32:27I,
32:28it's ruining my brain.
32:29So I am cooked.
32:30Um,
32:31but yeah,
32:32that's,
32:33that's the Rizzler and the Costco guys.
32:34Ty Anderson introduced me to the Costco guys.
32:35I didn't know who they were until he sent it to us one day.
32:36And then I started seeing them everywhere.
32:37Cause they were all over my algorithm.
32:38So I blame Ty Anderson for that.
32:39Who's older than me.
32:40I don't know.
32:41Yeah.
32:42He knows what the pulse of the internet is.
32:43I guess maybe I'm behind my tech talks all like dog videos.
32:44And then it's like people like,
32:45you know,
32:46like falling or something like that.
32:47It's like,
32:48it's like slapstick.
32:49Like people getting hurt.
32:50People get people walking through like glass,
32:51like glass doors or something like that.
32:52That's like what my mind's like.
32:53Mine's a mix of like,
32:54mine's when you watch America's Funniest Kids.
