00:00This staff also low-key has a couple
00:03Legitimate head coaching candidates for the future in Sacco, you know, Joe Sacco has been a head coach at the NHL level before
00:10Jay leach, you know at the AHL level candidate to be a head coach at the NHL level
00:17Both young so I think it's an interesting staff of like, you know, Kelly to Chris Kelly for sure
00:23Hope the bear is powered by price picks the exclusive daily fantasy partner of the CLNS media network

00:51Chris stops when he was in you're probably doing pretty well on there
00:54so hopefully
00:55continue that prior to game 4 and if you want to go to game 4 if you want to go down to Dallas everyone's talking
01:00About the resale value of the tickets in Dallas plus a flight is less than what it would be for like game 5 here
01:06Which I think is true
01:09Yeah, it isn't it's not go to game time use that promo code CLNS to get $20 off your first purchase terms apply
01:17Also, if you want to go to that watch party for game 4 at the garden
01:21It's not like my cup of tea, but for it's basically you're at the game
01:26I mean you're there with a bunch of fans places rock and roll if my friends were all going I could be convinced for sure
01:32But you can get tickets there on game time. So go to game time use their promo code CLNS
01:38To get $20 off that first purchase terms apply. I am Evan Baranofsky. That is Connor Ryan Connor
01:44What is up?
01:46Evan I'm doing well. How you doing doing great doing great. You had quite the Wednesday night
01:51How was the Brady ceremony?
01:53I had to say it exceeded my expectations. I think maybe it's just the
01:58maybe the
02:00sarcastic the you know
02:01I think most people go into those things thinking it's gonna be just all fluff or it's gonna be you know
02:07The way like that some of those things can be set up where it's a very long ceremony
02:12But I exceeded my expectations Evan. I think all the speeches were great
02:16A lot of good surprises and what it kind of took from it is like obviously was Brady's big day
02:21But I kind of felt like a tribute and a reflection on kind of the entire dynasty
02:26So like whether it's like Randy Moss getting moved to tears with like an ovation all these other players who?
02:32Play key roles for 20 years of dominance to kind of get their flowers get their ovations in front of a packed Gillette Stadium
02:39And some of the other things right like you had
02:42Drew Bledsoe there you had Jay-z show up. Yeah, Kenny Chesney. Yeah, that was pretty crazy
02:48It just it felt like a nice bow on you know, what Bella check got the ovation before he spoke like that stuff exactly
02:55Yeah, so it doesn't make me mad at that
02:58Dumbass Netflix special was before this it does feel like if this was the first time Belichick came out and had like a like
03:05An embrace with Brady it would have hit even more. It was still awesome like the ovation and all that stuff was great, but
03:11That's stupid net Netflix special kind of took some of the thunder away from it
03:15But as a whole, you know for what was such a I think significant part of I think all of our lives in terms of growing
03:21Up here and every Sunday being able to relax as the Brady Brady and the Patriots would drop 40 on the bills
03:27Yeah, we live that and I think appreciate that and kind of put a final bow on that 20-year run
03:34Was it very cool to be a part of it's easy to go into those things being like, all right
03:37Let's see. What you know, like you look at some of those things like the Red Sox ceremonies
03:41They go on forever and just you have some eye roll II kind of moments there
03:45This is what I think hit on all the right notes, and it was very very cool to be a part of it
03:48I think the best thing is they did it in the offseason. It was an event in and of itself. It wasn't prior to a game
03:55You know you went for that the only you know knock was it was the night of game for the NBA Finals
04:01that's the tough thing and but
04:04Three that's right. That's right game three
04:07I mean, I didn't I didn't watch it. I was actually in Foxboro during this just not at that. I was at Fox
04:13Damn, no, no. No, I was at Foxboro Sports Center for the Foxboro Prep League during the summer
04:19It was there with Mark Diver. So we were
04:21Catching up. We were putting together our Bruins lineups for this upcoming year
04:25I mean, I don't I don't know Evan I hear rumors that when you're not over at the Foxboro Center
04:31We hear that you always hang around Toby Keith's. I love this bar bar. Oh
04:35I can't help it. It's just too good. I can't get away from it
04:39Evan his red solo company levitates off the ground
04:43Like the the Baron in Dune when he goes across the yes. Yes, exactly
04:46I just watched that for the first time the other night, by the way, great film a little weird a great film
04:52Weird hard to follow. I fell asleep probably like four times in the first like hour
04:56It's not the biggest sci-fi movie guy
04:58But I rebounded and I I kept looking up everything during the movie to try to understand it
05:03I watched the thing after so I get it. I'm ready to watch Dune 2 as you say, I'm always behind these these things
05:08I'm never like ahead of it. I see these films and TV shows years later. So I mean what came out in what?
05:162021 like that's not that bad. If it wasn't like breaking bad or like I ruined your life by saying
05:21insert redacted character name here was deceased at the end of it, but
05:27Yeah, well that was different. That was different. I forgot about that one. I had a funny Wednesday night, though
05:32So this is a CLNS tie-in
05:35so when I got home from the prep league, I was watching the
05:39Celtics game 3 and and I listened on the radio coming home and they
05:45Grandi and max are electric. I mean that is a hell of a do like Cedric Maxwell
05:49You know when you like talking to the mic like if you're on Xbox or PlayStation with some friends and you put the mic like
05:54Right here. He'll put them
05:56I swear it's like the mic is right there and he's screaming into it whenever something big happens, which honestly is great
06:01It's not in my ears. It's in the car
06:04So anyway, I come in after that third quarter Celtics are up a million and I walk in and there's a whole like bunch of
06:09People at my house watching and I'm like, I've seen enough. It's over
06:12The game is over. The series is over. And of course the Celtics almost blew it the fourth in that fourth quarter
06:16Yes. Yes, but anyway, so I go upstairs and playing MLB the show and I'm watching the garden report
06:22Which is the like, you know, we do Bruins postgame shows. They do Celtics postgame shows
06:27They get a lot of viewers and they do it after like every game and it's a bunch of people that go on
06:33Just does Carl Corsini jump on that too. Does he bring the white board up?
06:37He breaks down the pick-and-roll. He doesn't a triangle offense. He's like, here's how they're taking away the corner threes for Dallas
06:47Yeah, exactly and the best thing was so I'm sitting there and Jimmy Toscano was promoting is like hard hats
06:53they have these cool hard hats and they're selling now and
06:56I commented, you know
06:58hard hat stays on during sex and
07:02Put it on for everybody to see and all the
07:06We come on now, I mean that I had to say it it came to my head I had to say it
07:09It was it was a late night. It was like 12 o'clock
07:12And so John Zanis text me on the side and says just jump on jump on with us
07:16And I'm like, do you really like you really want me to jump on like this Celtics?
07:20I know nothing. I'm not good at basketball and I jumped on for like, you know, 10-15 minutes the comment section
07:27Either didn't know who I was or thought I was like 7 years old. So
07:31It's a nice blend. There was a couple like hockey sucks. I was like, come on guys
07:37You thought you were jumping in there you are you gonna be like
07:41Dr. Strange showing up at the portals and Avengers
07:45That's like that's like if you showed up through the portal scene, they're like who the fuck are you?
07:48Who are you like Charles Barkley showing up on the NHL set? Oh, yes, and everybody like it's called Barkley's here
07:55It was like Oh Evans here. Yay. I would I would have been hyped Evan if I saw it
08:00Well, I appreciate it, but it was fun. I think I turned some people onto my side
08:05Hopefully they'll come subscribe to Bruins rink side. And so that was fun. It was a fun time
08:10Good times for all we're almost eight minutes in we haven't even touched the Bruins. It was such a big night on Wednesday
08:16For Boston sports you had the Brady ceremony you had the Celtics at one went away from the finals. You're the Red Sox
08:22They did do something. They won a game. They won a game. I think they came back. So
08:27Good for them
08:29Congrats guys
08:30And the biggest news. Yes. Hey leach is back. Yes leach is back in black and gold
08:38Jay leach is an assistant now on Montgomery staff. Joe Sacco has been promoted to associate head coach
08:45And John McLean who was an assistant before who comes from a skills and skating
08:50Background is gonna go back into a sort of a position like that
08:55Clearly a good hire. I mean leach was sort of, you know, he's the Providence head coach for quite a bit
09:00I believe he was a name that was mentioned for the job after Cassidy left
09:05So I think just having him on the staff like I think this is a good hire. Yeah, absolutely
09:10I mean, I think one Jay leach is a pretty accomplished coach as he said
09:13I think you know before he even after he went to the Kraken
09:19Held in high regard here, especially was viewed as like a potential coach in waiting. I'm still only 44 years old
09:25So in terms of adding more talent to the coaching staff, I think that's great
09:29But also I think in terms of I think it kind of settles everyone's roles a little bit more and it's more clearly defined
09:34Right, it's not like they're you know, I think a lot of the headlines
09:37I think even the one I wrote was like Bruins reshuffle their coaching staff, which is true
09:41Like they reshuffle they move guys around but it does seem like it's putting more people in spots where it's kind of there
09:48They're forte right? Like you look at Joe Sacco gets promotion. He's still gonna be running the PK
09:53Which is obviously what he's been known for for a while
09:56But you know, he primarily did a lot with the defenseman last year and again
10:00He's a forward and don't say you can't do that
10:02but when you have someone like Jay leach who
10:04Was a defenseman is that was kind of his bread and butter throughout his you know career as a coach
10:09To have him come back and get the reins of the defense you put Joe Sacco in a spot where he can be kind of
10:14a more of an overarching guy
10:16And then even John McLean right where he moves back to the skills and skiing department
10:20But it's not really like a demotion or anything like that
10:23Like he was now, you know
10:25That was kind of his focus last year when he was a coach and he was an eye in the sky coach during games as well
10:30So, you know, he's just kind of I think put in another spot over here again
10:33His strengths and his talent can be pretty maximized with working with this team as opposed to just being on the coaching staff
10:39So I think yeah, you look at just bringing in a talented coach like Jay leaf obviously helps
10:44I think is still held in pretty high regard here
10:48but I think more than that just bringing him in just seems like it slots everyone in the proper spot where
10:53Whatever their their focus or their emphasis in is as coaches. I
10:58Think it just benefits the Bruins that much more
11:01This staff also low-key has a couple
11:04Legitimate head coaching candidates for the future in Sacco, you know, so Sacco has been a head coach the NHL level before
11:11Jay leach, you know at the AHL level candidate to be a head coach at the NHL level
11:18Both young so I think it's an interesting staff of like Kelly to Chris Kelly for sure
11:25And I think it's interesting one because Kelly always gets me
11:27I know with Ottawa Kelly was kind of mentioned on Twitter is like a guy, you know played there for a bit
11:31You know
11:32Would he be a candidate wouldn't shock me if after this year things change in the sense that like one of them gets a job
11:38and
11:40If you know in the next couple years or just the way the NHL head coaching
11:45Carousel works if you know down the road Jim Montgomery is let go you might have your answer in house
11:51So I think that's another element to it as well. Not saying Jim Montgomery's getting fired. He's not
11:56I'm just saying that you know the way the league works coaches don't last very long
12:01You never know you just you never know. So you do have the in-house
12:06guys there
12:09So good on him he gets to return after a little
12:12Rendezvous out to Seattle now. He's back and back where he belongs I guess
12:17So good for him. Congrats to him and it looks like a pretty strong coaching staff
12:22There's more
12:24You know, we talked a lot about the Bruins going for the number 10 pick with the New Jersey Devils
12:29but there's another team in the top 10 who is considering trading their pick and they just so happen to
12:37Also need a goalie
12:39But first a quick word from our friends over at prize pick

13:56Again use code CLNS for a first deposit match of up to $100
14:02Prize picks pick more pick less. It's that easy now. Let's get back to the show
14:07So a team we've talked about in the past is Ottawa
14:12You know, they were interest they've been interested in Lena Solmark, but they also have the number seven pick in the NHL draft
14:18They also have your pick
14:20the Bruins pick at 25
14:24They got in the dobrinka trade that went to Detroit so you gotta like do the Charlie Kelly like, you know
14:28Yeah, remember the the clip of Bill Belichick and Tom Brady where they're trying to
14:33devise how to beat Ed Reed and
14:35Back in his chair and he's like, oh so like
14:38It goes like here like that's that's kind of how you have to like map out this
14:42How did the trade tree? Yes, how the how it went around?
14:47But so anyway, according to the fourth period
14:51One of the execs of the senators said quote we had interest in the number seven pick
14:56Teams will call you and say are you interested in moving the pick and you don't know what that's going to look like because you
15:02Don't know what's gonna be available there
15:04You have to stay very flexible
15:05The fourth period and that was quoted by the Ottawa citizen the fourth period wrote this with the interviews with the Ottawa citizen
15:12The senators could move back in the draft or trade the pick entirely for immediate help the uncertainty and who could be available at the
15:18Number seven slot adds to the mystery
15:21And the senators meant or you know pool and mentioned that the senators
15:26No celebrities going one, but after that it is completely wide open, which is true
15:30It is I mean left shit off from Michigan State seems like a pretty obvious pick at number two
15:35Even after that it gets it opens up like I saw there was a mock draft yesterday
15:39I thought I could Caden Lindstrom going like fourth fourth. Yeah other yeah other spots
15:44He's been like 14th. So like I see like it's open
15:48You see like Iserman go like I saw one that had him like seven or eight and I saw one that had him out like
15:5321
15:54You have like you have like the Denver defenseman who like is all over the top ten
15:58the good thing for the Bruins is like just probably I guess I'm gonna head if they do get a top ten pick is that
16:03Does seem like it's very heavy. You got celebrity one then a lot of like
16:07Defenseman and wings are all kind of making a majority of the the top ten, which I don't know
16:12Maybe that's you want more top ten centers
16:15but it does seem like if you
16:16Get between seven and ten
16:18There's probably gonna be one or the second or the third or the fourth price center on the draft board is probably gonna be there
16:24Yeah, like I saw like Berkeley Caden in that draft that Lindstrom went forth went like 12th
16:29And he was initially pegged as a guy higher. So like I think there are different options
16:35But I don't mind it like I I'm all for it like get in there get a high-end player
16:41Get your hand, you know develop them all that stuff like I'm for it and now if they got Cole Iserman
16:46I mean, that would be awesome. Be you guy new report mask. I
16:50Speaking of locals, I mentioned this in the Jay Lee segment. Yes
16:54Congrats to Ryan Warsaw ski next head coach of the Sharks from Marshall zone
17:00Congratulations to Ryan Warsaw ski for getting the big promotion to the Sharks bench boss
17:05But the senators it's interesting because senators this is according to the fourth period have been evaluating the goaltending market as well
17:13GM Steve sales has reached out to the New Jersey Devils about Mark Strum
17:16Lena Solmark and National Predators UC Soros. Apparently, I can't read
17:21However, the Senators have wanted to move Jonas Corpus Allo in a deal and that seems to be a sticking point
17:25I don't know how that would work with them. Yeah, I don't know who the hell ones Corpus Allo
17:30Anyway, what Jonas anybody want Jonas?
17:34Dangling him
17:36By the way that person who was speaking in the quotes with Senators senior vice president Dave Poulin. I should also mention that
17:42So, I mean again, I
17:45So, I mean again like we've talked about this with the number 10 pick, you know, could the Devils be
17:50Desperate enough to do a number 10 for all mark swap. I think the same question goes with the Senators
17:56It seems like they want Lena Solmark. I think the sticking point in this kind of trade
18:00I think they probably would do that
18:02I mean, it sounds like they would give more from what other execs or another exec has said
18:07But would Lena Solmark accept a trade to Ottawa? That's the biggest thing and I think like, New Jersey
18:12I think you have a pretty you have a better chance than not. I don't know about Ottawa. Yeah. No, I agree
18:18I think that is the biggest sticking point. I just can't see Oh mark, you know
18:23Signing off on a trade out there because again, it's unless
18:27It's something we have a long-term deal locked up there
18:30But again, like if you're all marking you're trying to pick where your next spot is going to be and you look at Ottawa in
18:35There they play what is it like 35 minutes outside of the city?
18:39Yeah, it doesn't really get high max
18:42That's a team that you know have some good pieces
18:45But they're not like the devil's where you look at just the talent they have and you'd be like, all right
18:50Then maybe they're a goalie away. There's so many of these teams that we've talked about with all markets possible fits where
18:55You know, it just does seem like they're just one piece or two from being a legitimate contender
19:01Even like you know, you there's other teams people have mentioned where again, maybe they're not a proven contender
19:06but if he goes there and it's a place where like again, it's where NHL players go and they settle down with their families like
19:12Raleigh's a popular place for a lot of guys settle down even like Columbus, but that team is not a good team right now
19:18But you know who knows what Don Waddell wants to do there?
19:21That's a team that has a lot of people settle down in the Columbus area
19:24You don't really hear that about Ottawa all that much. So no, I
19:28Just think you look at all the multiple factors that I'm sure going through all marks head as you know
19:34He kind of figures out what his next step is
19:35I just can't see Ottawa being that spot now like the Bruins find out that the number seven pick is there
19:41One for one or for something like that
19:43I wouldn't do it if it's bringing back corporate solo because I think he stinks and I don't like yeah
19:48I have no I have no interest in that. No, but I I think beyond just looking at that number seven pick in Ottawa
19:54I think it just reinforces that maybe the the Oh mark market is something that is higher than we thought
20:00I feel like we we talked about this
20:02Right as the year ended and we're like, all right, like if they get two second round picks, you know
20:06The biggest thing is just the cap space. That's great
20:09Look at it now and you look at just who's out there
20:11What are being rumored as being possible trade shifts whether it's a top 10 pick whether it's an impact player like, you know
20:18Marty nature's or something like that
20:21it's gonna be fascinating to see just how this market pans out because like I
20:24Feel like what happens if all mark does get traded and it is for a high second round pick and another prospect
20:31Again nice return for an asset that you don't plan on having a long term
20:35but you see all these rumors you feel like people gonna get let down if it's not a
20:3925 goal scorer or a top 10 pick or anything like that. It just feels gonna get so tough to gauge
20:45That's the thing
20:46I think if it ends up coming in a little bit less people like what were you guys talking about?
20:50This is so underwhelming and it's like well
20:53These were the rumors and I think also it's silly season
20:56So the lead-up to the draft is free. It is it is we get to imagine which is fun
21:00Also, if it was a second rounder and like a high prospect
21:04That's not bad. Like I mean, that's not great. I mean, it's not that it's not great
21:09It's not like my ideal scenario because my deal scenario is you trade him for the number 10 pick
21:157 pick and it's like holy crap. We're in the top 10 now if you're the Bruins
21:21But if it was a second rounder and a high prospect like that's true
21:26To he's got to
21:28Hi, you know higher-end prospects coming into your system, and I'm okay with that
21:32so like I
21:34Want the cap space I want, you know an infusion of one or two higher-end players and if it's top 10 pick
21:40Awesome, you know, I think that that's terrific. I just think in this situation
21:44I think seven is you know, you know, that's not happening just in the sense that
21:49Auto, I don't think he's accepting a trade to Ottawa. I just I don't I don't see it
21:53I don't see it all the things you said and I also think the team in front of him is not good enough like one
21:57Thing we've talked about in the past is if you go to a Carolina or New Jersey or Colorado or in LA
22:03You know, you have a chance to go to a really good team and put up good numbers
22:07Who was the last goalie in Ottawa?
22:09I know they haven't had amazing goaltending like who was the last goalie in Ottawa to put up
22:13Top 10 in the NHL numbers. I honestly cannot remember. It was a Craig Anderson
22:18Like I
22:19Top 10 to that's and they've had like some guys who obviously have gone on on like runs and bad good little stretches here
22:25But like top 10. Oh, I
22:28Mean again, they're not they've not been a good defensive team for a while
22:32And I just think that that also doesn't bode well along with the location
22:36And I don't think
22:38They're sort of in NHL. No man's land with that like, you know, they have good young players coming up
22:43Everybody wants Brady Kachuk, but like contending next year. I don't know. I don't know
22:51so yeah, I mean again, it's a fun thing to think about the number seven pick but
22:55Am I in that number 10 pick with New Jersey? I think that's the that's the sweet spot on the baseball bat

24:56Guaranteed now, let's get back to the show. So a fun little story
25:00this is years ago now, but Evander Cain was on the part of my take podcast a couple days ago and
25:06Mentioned that when he KO'd Matt Cook
25:09The Bruins sent him a gift basket. I think that's amazing
25:13That's outstanding and then to think of kind of Evander Cain's relationship after that with the Bruins soured but for a fleeting second
25:20He was on their good side
25:21I mean that was also it that was also I think like I'm less than a month or maybe just a little over a month
25:26After the the Matt Cook hit on survived
25:29So it was like right after that the Bruins fans are still pissed about how that whole thing went down
25:33Obviously then you got what I think was rookie Evander Cain there
25:36I want to say it was I think that the thrashers last game of the season too
25:39So like literally Matt Cook's final game to close out the regular season just gets walloped one punished by Evander Cain
25:46But it's not surprising game of the season. It was I'm sure that that was what 2010
25:51So penguins obviously kept went into the playoffs, but I it was like April
25:5510th or something like that April 7th something like that
25:59when that game was so
26:02Video is great. Still one. You got to throw back the rashes jerseys, which yeah, it's like the NHL wants to go back to Atlanta
26:07I don't know why but that's that's topic for another another day. But I just think you look at a
26:14That video and it's not surprising at all to see that the Bruins maybe sent him a little little gift basket
26:19Maybe it was Dunkin Donuts gift card a couple of flowers
26:23something like that
26:25Not surprising based on just how much you know, we were talking about all-time Bruins sports Bruins villains
26:31Matt cooks gonna be right up there
26:33I was like going through like all the other place he had right where he elbowed Ryan McDonough
26:37Remember, he like stepped on Carlson's heel when he like severed. Yes like that. Yeah
26:43Yeah, that would be
26:45shitty player
26:46So there were that now in hockey, I believe there is a little protector you can put on your Achilles
26:52You know protect from things like that happening, but it's fluke plays
26:55that was intentional when he stepped on his Achilles like that was as bad as it gets such a scumbag and
27:03I I just the way he played
27:06He was a jackass on the ice and when that Evander that fight cuz cook was going after Kane
27:11I was just watching the
27:13Video that as you were talking and like cook goes after Kane
27:16He's like, all right, you want to go like let's do it and just like boom
27:20Like it was such it just clean too
27:24And cook went right out cook went right out. I think I think at the end of that video to
27:29Kane mentions that the very next time they met he got a high elbow from cook and then cook wouldn't fight him
27:34So that's the other YouTube video. There's a YouTube video right after that. It's like, you know cook elbows
27:39Cane up high the other thing I found interesting from that interview is reading your story in Boston calm
27:44That Kane has watched the video like 300 times
27:47Respect you always feel like hockey players like I'm pretty humble about those things
27:51I want these guys to be watching these videos like
27:53500 times when that happens like now I watch that shit before I go to everyone to watch Tory Krug
27:58Obliterating Robert Thomas like how many times do you watch that video? Yes 100%
28:04Speaking of Krug, I saw somewhere and I don't know if it's real or not
28:08So like I you know, this is just off the top man. This isn't on the show agenda
28:11But um, I don't know if there's rumors or something out of the st. Louis about
28:16them buying Krug out
28:18I
28:19Don't know how real it is. But would you take him back at a lower price?
28:24I mean, listen, I love I love Tory Krug's game. I love what he provided here as a veteran. I don't know. I
28:32Just think you look at where Laura is and what he provides and
28:36Krug bring him back on a cheap deal would be awesome
28:38Like just having him here is like a third pairing kind of guy on the left side
28:41But I feel like that's gonna cut into what you hope Laura
28:45built into so again, if you want him back on a cheap deal like
28:49You explore that option, I guess
28:51But you look at just what his role is what his strengths are at this stage of his career and what you hope
28:56Mason Laura develops into and
28:58Again, I also don't feel like Tory Krug at this stage of his career is gonna be like, alright
29:01And here's the time of my career where I'm signing the 1 million dollar cap hit deal
29:06Like he still can probably be a very coveted asset for a team that means like a power play
29:10You know quarterback right at the top of the list. So
29:14Listen Krug's great player. I just don't feel like he fits with what this team needs right now, especially with Laura here
29:19Lori wasn't here screw it bring him back as the just a powerful specialist but like with Laura right there now
29:26Give him time to kind of settle into that role and be your your 20
29:30You know 22 23 year old guy that you build here for the long term
29:33So daily face off Frank's air Valley had him as like a buyout candidate
29:39For this offseason and then like I think I saw his Bruins benders podcast
29:43Tweeted out, you know, would you guys would Bruins fans want him? I'm an agreement with you
29:48Love Tory Krug love what he brought hell of a player
29:52I just think with the emergence Mason Lowry. I don't know if that's what you need
29:56I think you need more of a veteran shut down left shot defenseman. Then you do a veteran
30:01powerplay specialist
30:03And again, I know the power play was bad last year at times struggled down the stretch
30:08He would help that but I just think that gets in the way of low ride and then it's like alright
30:12So your left side is low ride Lindholm and Krug
30:15That's not like the toughest
30:17Yeah read a play against you need a shot I just look at what Laura Laura I brings
30:22He's you know his skating ability his ability to activate move down the half wall
30:26He does some of the things that in time you hope he becomes Tory Krug, right?
30:30Like which is how mobile he can be
30:32He's also six five and he's also a lot a lot younger and a lot cheaper like
30:36Again, it's just in terms of you look at it from a business perspective
30:39like it just makes the most sense in terms of going with the acid you have that's younger that even maybe has higher upside or
30:45Even if it becomes production wise what Tory Krug is you have more to work with a guy that can also play
30:5122 minutes a night down the road and be a 6-5 guy. That's gonna continue to fill out there
30:56100% 100% someone else who's an interesting name was Patrick line a
31:02Entered the NHL PA players assistance program in January has struggled on the ice the last couple of seasons
31:09Signed a big deal with Columbus
31:12Here is an 8.7 million dollar average annual value
31:17Would you take a flyer on this if they dangled them any some of that money I
31:24Probably wouldn't and again like you look at just the baseline numbers and you can you know
31:28View a guy that in the right spot could go back to being a 35 40 goal scorer, right the talents there
31:33I just don't think it's worth it in terms of one like what the price is going to be even for a depressed asset like
31:39that in terms of just where his
31:42Production has been from you know, his his early years
31:45and again, it just comes down to
31:49What you're paying to get him like he's still got an 8.7 million dollar cap hit you have the cap space
31:54But how much of that are you going to allocate towards a guy that has all the potential being a 40 goal?
32:00Top six player, but you just don't really know there you add in like the defensive part of his game. It just I
32:07Think if you have this cap space and you have some of these assets that you can't dangle out there
32:11I wouldn't use it on a guy. That's like a better Mike Hoffman, right like just kind of
32:1825 35 goal scorer that can help you I guess but like at
32:22What cost in terms especially his cap hit when you're giving up all that stuff?
32:26I I think there's other options if the Bruins are looking for trade chips that make just a little bit more sense
32:31I get though desire from some to that would want to do that because you do need to score goals at a better rate
32:38next year in
32:40Theory like he could help that. I
32:43Just I don't know. That's a lot of money. How much are they eating? What's it gonna take to get him?
32:48You know, I guess in so if they let's say like, okay
32:50I hypothetical if the if the Blue Jackets said we're gonna eat half so you're paying like
32:55What 4.3
32:57Around that and you have to give up, you know a late-round pick or something
33:01I'm just off the top my head of you know, we don't know what the market would be but it would be something around that
33:07Maybe like maybe but that's still like a good chunk of money. That's not like, you know 2 million a year
33:14That's 4.3 million per year and that takes you out of probably signing another wing like because again if to brusque walks
33:22Ideally, you know you're signing a number one center this offseason probably Lindholm and then like I think you're going after either like a
33:29Bertuzzi
33:32Toffoli a duclair
33:34Two or you know two or more of those kinds of wingers like, you know, Manta, whatever
33:40Like would you take line a over those guys? You know, I get why people might want to but I
33:47Don't know a lot of question marks there, so I don't know if that's the best use of
33:52Use of your funds so to speak
33:55Anyways, Connor, what can the people look forward to from you over at the globe and Boston calm?
33:59Yeah
33:59Well, have you covered every step of the way this offseason whether it's trade rumors free agency the draft which may be all of a
34:05Sudden we have to start looking at it's the mock drafts
34:08I have a couple of trades go down so we'll see there but you had be electric we start breaking down prospects
34:14We got you know, we'd have to do some sort of fun game of like picking players and the big board
34:18Oh the big board. Yeah, the Felger and Mads big board. We'll do the same thing
34:23But yeah, we'll have all that stuff over at Boston calm in the Boston Globe
34:26So follow along there if you want to follow me on Twitter, you can at Connor Ryan. I'm the school in 93
