00:00I ended up getting a C in Biology, C in Chemistry and a B in History and a C in my APQ as well.
00:12How did you feel coming into school this morning?
00:14I felt really nervous, just obviously hoping really to do well but not being too sure about it.
00:22So, opening up and knowing I did well, it's a really nice feeling.
00:26Have you got another course you want to do?
00:28Yeah, I have. I'm going to Newcastle to do History. Couldn't be more excited to be honest, it's brilliant.
00:34Okay, how do you do then?
00:36I've got an A star in English Language, an A in History, a B in English Literature and a B in my APQ.
00:42About what you were expecting?
00:44Yeah, about what I was expecting but yeah, I'm over the moon. I've got a firm choice to do Law down at the University of York.
00:51So yeah, I'm really looking forward to it.
00:53You're twins, so obviously during your studies, obviously on results day morning here, did that help being able to bounce off each other and support each other?
01:02Yeah, massively, massively helped. Just talking to him, because we both do History the night before the exam.
01:08Just talking with each other, making sure we're going over, making sure we have the same dates for things.
01:13And then obviously this morning, just letting each other know that we'll be alright and that we're there for each other.
01:18It's brilliant, yeah. It's really useful having him around.
01:21Yeah, so it really worked on both levels. The mental side, having someone else go through it, because it feels like a bit of a long slope when you're doing it.
01:28And then obviously the History thing and helping each other out. But yeah, it's like having a best mate, it does the same stuff as you.
01:35So yeah, really bit, really lucky.
01:39Holly, tell me who did your results and what did you get?
01:41I got straight A's across the board in Chemistry, Biology and Arts.
01:47What were you expecting? Better than you expected?
01:49Better than I was expecting, definitely.
01:52So how do you feel coming to school this morning?
01:54Well, I felt a bit ill, I'm not going to lie. Especially when I walked through the doors and I saw all my friends kind of dabbing around.
02:00I think the reality hit, but it was definitely very amazing. Overwhelming.
02:09What are you going to do now? What are you going to study?
02:11I'm going to Sunderland Uni to do Pharmacy.
02:14And Lucy, how are you doing? What's your grades?
02:16I've got a Distinction Star in Health and Social Care, a B in Art and a C in Biology.
02:21And how do you feel this morning coming to school?
02:23Oh, I felt sick in my stomach, I hated it, I was so nervous.
02:26You look happy now, how do you feel now then?
02:28No, I'm over the moon, I'm so happy. I got into my uni so I couldn't be more happy.
02:32And I was really nervous about what grades I might come out with, so I'm over the moon.
02:37And what are you going to study and where are you studying at?
02:39I'm studying Paramedic Science at Sunderland.
02:42Okay, I've just been chatting to some of the students, there's a lot of smiling faces.
02:46So, just how have the kids done, are you pleased with the results?
02:49I'm pleased with the results, everybody in the school is really pleased with the results.
02:53And the number of happy smiling faces today indicates that all of the students are really happy as well.
02:59A lot of the kids have got the grades they want, are they going to university of their choice?
03:02Yes, it's been a really successful year in terms of university applications.
03:08Definitely got lots of very happy smiling faces.
03:11I know it can be a nervous time for students, is it also a nervous time for staff when you come in this morning?
03:16It is, but we know the students well.
03:19Obviously there's always an element of uncertainty, but the number of university places on offer has been really good this year.
03:26So, we were quite confident when we came in that they were all going to be quite happy.
03:32Are the results always a time to celebrate the work of the kids, whatever the results have been?
03:36The results days always indicate that there's been a lot of hard work.
03:41With every set of results there's always some people who are happy and some people who are not quite as happy.
03:47But there's an awful lot of support in place to make sure that they're all guided on to the next steps.
03:51But there's relatively little work for us to do this year, which is always good.
