00:44 OK, and just a few words about how you feel about this year's
00:47 results.
00:48 We're very proud of everything that the students have
00:50 achieved this year.
00:51 They've worked very hard, and results
00:52 are good, slightly higher than pre-pandemic levels,
00:55 slightly lower than last year.
00:57 I know that's the case across the country in terms
00:59 of results being down compared to the last two years,
01:01 back down close at the 2019 levels.
01:04 My understanding is, though, in terms of leniency,
01:06 that this was only applied in England in terms
01:09 of not getting the leniency, whereas Scotland, Wales,
01:11 Northern Ireland did.
01:13 Do you think that's right?
01:14 And do you think these kids are being disadvantaged by that?
01:16 I think in the short term, it won't
01:18 pose a problem for the students when they're moving on
01:21 to six forms and training providers.
01:23 I do think in the longer term, it
01:24 will be more of a challenge for them
01:25 when they're applying for university places
01:27 and competing with students from the rest of the UK.
01:30 Do you think that whatever policy came in
01:32 should have been applied universally across the UK?
01:34 Absolutely.
