00:00Hi, I'm District Reporter Amy Seddon and these are your latest news headlines from across the North West.
00:07A Preston haulage firm with more than 130 staff has gone into administration.
00:14H Parkinson Haulage, HPH, one of the UK's leading privately owned haulage and distribution companies,
00:21have appointed administrators to FRP advisory to try and rescue the business.
00:26Administrators were appointed to H Parkinson Haulage Ltd, a subsidiary of HPH Group, on August 5th.
00:34HPH had a licence for 85 HGVs and 160 trailers when it entered into administration
00:41and employed around 130 staff at its various sites across Preston, South Ribble and Chorley.
00:47Many of HPH's local staff, including around 80 drivers, 20 warehouse workers and 25 office staff, faced redundancy.
00:56However, some will continue to be employed by the parent group.
01:01A young man was stabbed in Blackpool's Stanley Park earlier this week.
01:05Emergency services were called to the park in East Park Drive where the 19-year-old was attacked with a knife on Tuesday afternoon.
01:13The 999 call was made shortly after 1.30pm and saw police and paramedics rush to the scene near the skate park and football pitches.
01:21The teenager was taken to hospital but Lancashire Police said his injuries are not life-threatening.
01:27No one has been arrested at this stage but the force said there is no suggestion of a wider threat or risk to the public.
01:34An innovative campaign to save a Carnforth village's last remaining pub has had a fantastic response.
01:42Burton and Lonsdale last month launched a much-awaited share offer in a bid to bring the Punchball Inn into community ownership.
01:50At a packed meeting, the share perspective was presented to villagers and the purchase of shares went live.
01:56Since then, residents and friends of the small village have responded in huge numbers to the share offer, which launched on July 11th.
02:04At its close on August 8th, the Community Benefit Society set up to head the campaign had 293 members and had raised a massive £230,558 from the sale of the shares.
02:19The management team have now taken the decision to extend the share offer until midnight on September 8th.
02:24A spokesperson says the need to reach a minimum target of £275,000.
02:31A Netflix star has showered Burnley and the Ribble Valley in love during Jordan North's Capital Breakfast show.
02:38Burnley-born actor Lucien Lavascant named some of his favourite places in the area during an interview with a former Radio 1 presenter about the latest season of his TV show, Emily in Paris.
02:49Lucien, who attended Cliff Road, Riverdale High School, said,
02:53Burnley is still home. I love Burnley.
02:55Asked by a caller from Worsthorn called Emily where he'd take her for a date during a game of Emily and Burnley, he said the Pepper Pot in Paddingham Road as the best sandwiches.
03:06He also put the Ribble Valley's Merson Hall at the top of his list for a romantic staycation and said Pendle Hill during sunset would be his number one spot for a proposal.
03:17Work to extend a Leigh pub's beer garden has been halted after Wigan Council told its owners they needed planning permission.
03:24A retrospective application has now been submitted for the scheme at the Brewery Inn on the corner of Brewery Lane and College Street.
03:31Retrospective applications are usually needed when the applicant may have unintentionally overlooked the need to get approval from a local authority.
03:39Drawings show a boundary fence fronting onto the two streets, which has already been erected, surrounding grassed area, partitioning a car park at the rear.
03:48The pub is owned by Ingle Noon Inns and Tavins Ltd and the tenant manager is Colin Fryer.
03:54Mr Fryer said, we've left it to our head office. A fence was put up about 12 months ago and then we got a letter from Wigan Council saying the work had to stop.
04:03We thought we would have to take the fence down but it's been left so that if the application is approved the work can restart.
04:10And now for the weather. Across Lancashire it will stay nice and sunny today with no rain or clouds expected.
04:17Temperatures vary from 19 degrees in the middle of the day to 13 degrees between 1 and 4 in the morning.
