00:00I think you always get a little bit further along in the run game first, but
00:04we're also seeing every defense known to man.
00:06We have an unbelievable defense scheme, I think,
00:11in terms of what we do and the challenges that we bring.
00:14So you have to also figure out how to pick up all the different pressures and
00:18all the different looks while you're also trying to just become more comfortable.
00:24How do you work with a young quarterback like Demond about looking downfield and
00:28not just kind of defaulting to scrambling?
00:30Yeah, I feel like I've had that experience the last few years.
00:35We took Jaden when he came off being a freshman player of the year in the Pac-12.
00:40And a lot of it had to do with the plays he made with his feet.
00:43A lot of success we had with him was plays that he made off schedule.
00:47Then we had Noah as a freshman.
00:49It's a natural habit as a freshman, just like it is as a rookie in the NFL,
00:54that you just scramble quicker.
00:57You just get out of there faster cuz you're not accustomed to
01:00necessarily trusting everything around you.
01:02We just work at it.
01:03Reps, reps, reps.
01:04And I think the more comfortable Demond feels, the more he'll stay in there.
01:07But when you run as fast as Demond runs,
01:10we're okay with him taking off and running, too.
01:14Last couple of guys.
01:15Seems like Deshaun Lynch and
01:16Jaden Wayne feed off each other a lot as edges.
01:18What allows them to feed off so well?
01:19I just think they're just more and more comfortable.
01:22Neither one were here in the spring, so
01:24they're both two new sets of numbers that we haven't seen right, and
01:27they're big bodies.
01:28I think Jaden Wayne showed up a bunch today.
01:31I saw him make some plays on the screen game, which was really impressive.
01:36He's strong, he's big.
01:37Deshaun Lynch, big and strong.
01:39Those guys can play outside and inside, which will give us a lot of flexibility.
01:45But those guys, I think they feed off each other cuz they're both new and
01:48they became close friends.
01:49How do you feel about having such a unique multiple scheme?
01:52It helps your quarterbacks develop,
01:53cuz obviously Demond being a freshman hasn't seen any of this before.
01:56But even with Will,
01:57he probably saw a lot of different things in the SEC than what Steve can throw out.
02:00Yeah, I think what happens is we've gotta be aware of both of those things.
02:05That we love being able to challenge our quarterbacks with
02:09what we're getting defensively.
02:10But we also have opportunities to run scout team periods, end of team periods,
02:14and give some things of what we're expecting each first three or
02:16four weeks as well.
02:17So probably starting next Saturday, or really probably starting Thursday,
02:22we'll start implementing a little bit more scout team periods and
02:25seeing how we can make sure that these guys are getting
02:29looks that they're gonna get from our opponents.
02:31Not just looks that our opponents are gonna get from us.
02:34All right, thanks everybody.
02:35Thank you. Okay, you guys got.
