00:00And we are back. The first of 46 games of the League One campaign are about to take

00:07place this weekend and that means the first one of my pre-match press conference videos.

00:15Back in the Kia, ahead of the new campaign, we've just spoken to the newly unveiled Shrewsbury

00:20Town captain Carl Winchester. A pretty unkept secret, I think everybody knew Carl Winchester

00:25was going to be captain, but he was announced live on Sky Sports News this afternoon and

00:31he becomes the town skipper for the coming season. A brilliant option really. I've had

00:36the pleasure to interview Carl Winchester on a number of times and he's a top, top guy.

00:42You can see why he's been nominated as captain by Paul Hurst. He's also a fantastic footballer

00:47who leads by example and never really comes off that field without giving 110%.

00:54With regards to the season, he came out Winchester himself fairly defiant, actually, talking

00:58about Shrewsbury's chances this year. I think the playing staff feel as though that the

01:04team have been almost written off before the start of the season and he says that they'll

01:10have to have that underdog mentality and they'll have to play with no fear. So we're looking

01:14forward to seeing some of that at Stevenage at the weekend. But it was quite nice and

01:18quite refreshing to see him come out and honestly rebuke the kind of online things

01:25that you see.

01:26Shrewsbury head to Stevenage this weekend for the first of 46 games. There's a couple

01:33of injury concerns ahead of the game, none of which that Paul Hurst was particularly

01:39keen on giving any insight to, which I completely understand as he doesn't want the opposition

01:44manager to know. So we'll have to wait and see in terms of the squad when we see the

01:51team come out on Saturday lunchtime.
